Antithesis -> RE: =HS= Character Discussion Thread (3/7/2012 22:56:03)

What is an "ordinary reality bender"?

Saturn's power varies massively. In my opinion, he could easily be much stronger than Drakkoniss or the other crazy one. I haven't really developed his character enough to find out.

The consequence to using an antithesisgodmod is that you become a god-modder yourself

EDIT: According to the way you say that, I am to assume you are the strongest character? How can I not be sure Drakkoniss is say... 12 "ordinary reality benders"?

delta blitz -> RE: =HS= Character Discussion Thread (3/7/2012 22:59:39)

an ordinary reality bender would be one that is limited to only least 3 of the 5 elements of reality. If you can do more than that then you aren't ordinary.
edited: my strength is proportional to the white chaos I absorb as I have stated( read the full cons list <)O(>)

Antithesis -> RE: =HS= Character Discussion Thread (3/7/2012 23:00:25)

Elements of reality?

Saturn creates life. What are these elements you speak of?

delta blitz -> RE: =HS= Character Discussion Thread (3/7/2012 23:03:53)

Life, death, space, time and gravity

Vector -> RE: =HS= Character Discussion Thread (3/7/2012 23:04:36)

orly, anti? mine is more... risky than just being infected with the plague of godmodding[>:]

Question Mark? -> RE: =HS= Character Discussion Thread (3/7/2012 23:18:58)

Umm...
Drakkoniss...
How do I put this...
The guy in Pink is The Candyman, a U.N. Peacekeeper who taps into mystical powers.
Pythagoras types in blue.
...
And Wow...
That was...
angry ...

delta blitz -> RE: =HS= Character Discussion Thread (3/7/2012 23:24:09)

I dont have a anti godmod things.....T.T meh doesnt matter though I don't care if someone is stronger than me becuase after all power isnt everything.

Vector -> RE: =HS= Character Discussion Thread (3/7/2012 23:32:39)

erm, to hopefully avoid further confusion, my previous post referred to my 'anti-godmod' action.
also, said action is one use only for me

Antithesis -> RE: =HS= Character Discussion Thread (3/7/2012 23:35:32)

He creates life.

He replenishes himself after death by going from the realm of death back to living. Does that count?

He teleports through space and can seamlessly change realities

He does not view time as linear. Though he can't travel through it within a single universe, he can see everything that has happened or will happen via the idea of "fate", though what he sees may change.

He's unaffected by gravity but doesn't control it.

Where does that throw him in regards to just reality bending?

It really won't show his actual strength since multiple powers are being ignored for this (fatigue control, manipulation, ect) as well as his weaknesses (Rhodium, random uncalled variables)

@Vector; Proceed?

Vector -> RE: =HS= Character Discussion Thread (3/7/2012 23:42:02)

no. strictly classified. i don't want anyone to... take advantage of it in some way, like purposely wanting me to trigger it, or pretending it never happened

delta blitz -> RE: =HS= Character Discussion Thread (3/7/2012 23:42:32)

@anti: Doesnt that make him technically immortal and omniscient (or is it omnipotent I could have my words mixed up). Seems like your character is goddmodding >:p (jking)
your character is about 4 ordinary reality benders currently though.

Glais -> RE: =HS= Character Discussion Thread (3/7/2012 23:47:16)

That's...almost completely broken. There's no point to really having a character if he's basically just a god in my opinion...

Antithesis -> RE: =HS= Character Discussion Thread (3/7/2012 23:47:57)

Oh okay then :P

As for Delta; Rhodium and concentrated beams of nucleic energy weaken him. I went over this :P If he were strapped in a cell made of Rhodium whilst surrounded by nucleic energy, he would cease to exist. Being in a cell of rhodium alone would make him a prisoner of war. Being shot by the beam alone would wreck him horribly.

He's essentially omniscient. Eventide is the omnipotent one.

The characters in my story play off of the ideas of the Christian God. Good catch.

Rhodium dangit! RHODIUM.

Vector -> RE: =HS= Character Discussion Thread (3/7/2012 23:49:02)

agreed, glaisaurus. then again, sometimes i feel like experimental might slip into it once in a while...

Antithesis -> RE: =HS= Character Discussion Thread (3/7/2012 23:50:20)

Omnipotent means you are always everywhere, actually. Saturn is all-knowing to an extent. Not omnipowerful as that is a completely different thing.

@Delta again; I think your opinion on the power of my character is misleading. The idea that you could destroy two Saturns is just disappointing and further supports my earlier idea about your character...

Glais -> RE: =HS= Character Discussion Thread (3/7/2012 23:52:40)

@^:Omnipotent=Infinite power, basically, you can do anything without limit.
Well I mean, one can't be MORE omniscient/potent/present than someone else, or else they aren't TRULY omni, being all.
But the thing is, once one is a true omni, the only way stop one is through pure hax, or specific universe abilities.

I mean, Time Travel seems a decent power, but a true Omnipotent could easily erase it, or give themselves jacked up powers to the point there's no reason to fight back. As a true omnipotent can pretty much do anything.

Likewise a true omniscient would exist in everyone's thoughts as well. Not to mention every place and event that could, would, or won't happen. You can't fight an omniscient because they knew what you'd do before you existed.

Omnipresence is...slightly less broken, but then it adds into omniscience. You're everywhere.

Jessa K -> RE: =HS= Character Discussion Thread (3/7/2012 23:54:00)

Wow, you guys really rip through pages once somebody gets the ball rolling. I think I'll do the pro/con thing, too. It looks like fun.

Pros
-Probability manipulation
-Resistence to all mental attacks

Cons
-Can only manipulate non-living things
-Can only manipulate probability, NOT reality
-Has very little control over powers
-Is only resistant to mental ATTACKS
-Is a 16 year old girl
-Can be killed like a normal human

Wait a minute, that doesn't seem right...

Antithesis -> RE: =HS= Character Discussion Thread (3/7/2012 23:54:16)

Oh wait, omnipresent is the word I was thinking of.

No, my characters are not literally omni-anything. It's the idea behind each word that defines them.

Glais -> RE: =HS= Character Discussion Thread (3/7/2012 23:56:34)

Probability Manipulation would actually be pretty cool. Like that guy Clover in HomeStuck.

"You'd try to shoot me? I'm so lucky the gun would probably just jam."

Course, solution being they whacked him with a newspaper instead. "One does not have to be all that unlucky to be hit with a newspaper."

Course, his power was infinite luck, but that's somewhat like probability manipulation.

Vector -> RE: =HS= Character Discussion Thread (3/7/2012 23:56:58)

all three of those omni- stuff just scream 'godmod' right into my ear point blank, glaisaurus. at least, that's how it translates roleplay-wise

Antithesis -> RE: =HS= Character Discussion Thread (3/7/2012 23:58:19)

I think we should just avoid that prefix altogether, even if it isn't literal.

Glais -> RE: =HS= Character Discussion Thread (3/7/2012 23:59:37)

Yeah, they're often thrown around without anyone understanding em. Just the Villains.Wikia's page on Omnipotents is...disappointing, since the majority of them have limits, thus rendering them as just generically tough guys.

Antithesis -> RE: =HS= Character Discussion Thread (3/8/2012 0:03:34)

Yeah so on that note it's elaboration time:

Saturn knows a ton. Just about everything there is to know about a specific situation or his timeline.
This changes frequently as every action steers his prophesied reality in a different direction.

Eventide can be anywhere at any time without even thinking about it. The Eventide can be in more than one place at any one time, as well.

Just remembered that only Drakkoniss knows what that is anyway xD

Vector -> RE: =HS= Character Discussion Thread (3/8/2012 0:03:50)

i could've easily went with a self-insert (replicating as much of your real life qualities as humanly possible) instead, but what fun is an ordinary person in a world-- err, city... full of super-powered people, anyhow?

Antithesis -> RE: =HS= Character Discussion Thread (3/8/2012 0:06:18)

Correction: What fun is a super powered person/hero/villian in a city of gods?

Maybe that is more fun... I'm gonna roleplay as Fairgates when I get the chance.
