Dwelling Dragonlord -> RE: (DF) Woe of The Seeker Comments & Criticism (6/22/2012 6:20:53)

@Arthur Dragonlord: When I read that Ash was going berserk I couldn't help but thinking of Eselgee. (Rolith in AQ.) Which makes sense since he cares deeply (understatement of the day) for Alina.

At first I thought the figure to be Artix, but then I only could think of

spoiler:

the Knight Lite from the future.

Arthur -> RE: (DF) Woe of The Seeker Comments & Criticism (6/22/2012 6:29:04)

Hmm...

I wouldn't know of Eselgee, I stopped playing AQ a looong time back.

And aaaah.... You cracked it. Nice go.

Arthur -> RE: (DF) Woe of The Seeker Comments & Criticism (6/24/2012 8:33:50)

Chapter 3 Part 1 is up!

It's gruesome, dark, hardcore and you can't help but feel bad for Rolith.

Enjoy and do provide C&C.

Dwelling Dragonlord -> RE: (DF) Woe of The Seeker Comments & Criticism (6/24/2012 8:57:23)

Eselgee

quote:

heaved the hammer off his lap and twisting it

heaving, twisted

That was dark indeed. Where did Artix come from all of the sudden though? Will that be touched on in future chapters?

Arthur -> RE: (DF) Woe of The Seeker Comments & Criticism (6/24/2012 9:11:36)

@Dwelling, yes, in fact, it will be touched in Part Two itself. I can tell you that Artix happened to be here for work.

Ah...that's not Eselgee...I...I mean it is...but that's Rolith...too.

I'll smooth out the typos.

Dwelling Dragonlord -> RE: (DF) Woe of The Seeker Comments & Criticism (6/24/2012 9:18:33)

@Arthur Dragonlord: It IS Rolith, but he became Eselgee after a mistake he made.

quote:

ORIGINAL: http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=17586647

Falerin: It means that you need aid in navigating them. Any sort of teleportation you attempt is likely to be thrown off by their effect. Hello, Rolith...
«You»: Yes, well, Warlic and I know that quite well... You are a deity from another world, Loremaster, surely you can...
Eselgee: No call me that...
Falerin: Still running from the past, are we? You will need to face it eventually. And before you ask, «You», I am afraid I cannot help you. I am otherwise engaged.

Arthur -> RE: (DF) Woe of The Seeker Comments & Criticism (6/24/2012 9:21:51)

Oh, I see. Is it just me or is there a hint of tragedy about the way Eselgee looks and the conversation you just posted?

Dwelling Dragonlord -> RE: (DF) Woe of The Seeker Comments & Criticism (6/24/2012 9:40:02)

@Arthur Dragonlord: There is indeed. I amongst a few others speculated it was because something happened to Alina, which drove him mad. That or it has something to do with King Alteon, who is a character of mystery in AQ.

The whole western part of the continent is described as a place of tragedy in AQ though. Little good comes from venturing west.

We're getting a bit off-topic here though. Your newest chapter was a good addition and I look forward to the next part.

Arthur -> RE: (DF) Woe of The Seeker Comments & Criticism (6/25/2012 0:15:51)

Just a heads-up for readers,

I shall post Chapter 3 Part 2 later today, and then I'll post Chapter 4 after a day or 2 since I have to write for the Face-off.

Arthur -> RE: (DF) Woe of The Seeker Comments & Criticism (6/27/2012 4:45:36)

Chapter 3 Part 2 is up!!

Rolith is in big trouble for what he did in Part 1.

Also, there is a surprise for you guys at the start of Chapter 3 Part 2!

Enjoy, and let me know!!

Dwelling Dragonlord -> RE: (DF) Woe of The Seeker Comments & Criticism (6/27/2012 5:37:26)

Where does Sepulchure keep finding these castles and fortresses?!

Arthur -> RE: (DF) Woe of The Seeker Comments & Criticism (6/27/2012 6:23:37)

@Dwelling, in my timeline, basically deserted ones or ones that he himself had conquered in the past. Here, keeping in mind his chaotic condition from the Dracolich attack, its a deserted one.

I'll get to the typos.

Hey Dwelling, I wish to introduce a couple of Heroes to this story, if only as cameo appearances or mentions(I haven't thought yet). But they will have roles as Chronophages from the future. Can I perhaps borrow your Hero?
:S

I'll have to search regarding the second one.

Dwelling Dragonlord -> RE: (DF) Woe of The Seeker Comments & Criticism (6/27/2012 6:40:15)

@Arthur Dragonlord: What are chronophages exactly? The way you've described the Necrophages they resemble Shadowscythe-aliens.

Are Chronophages still human?

Arthur -> RE: (DF) Woe of The Seeker Comments & Criticism (6/27/2012 7:22:32)

@Dwelling, yes of course.

Chronophages are the same DF guys just around 5 to 15 years in the future where Lore is advanced, just not so much as MQ.

So you can expect the future Ash to be as strong as Seppy is right now.

Infact, all of the NPCs have grown strong(and advanced).

So I wanted the Heroes to be part of this organisation.

Dwelling Dragonlord -> RE: (DF) Woe of The Seeker Comments & Criticism (6/27/2012 8:11:50)

@Arthur Dragonlord: Then by all means, go ahead. Do note that my character is very vincible, even "today" (AQ).
<MASSIVE PLOT SPOILER>
spoiler:

Even though nowadays he just resurrects after a short period till he dies of a natural death.

Being a jack-of-trades means having a wide range of skills, but it also means you can never truly excel at advanced stuff.

spoiler:

Now you have asked me that, there's a similair cave in my own story which will come several years into the future. Great minds think alike, eh?

Arthur -> RE: (DF) Woe of The Seeker Comments & Criticism (6/27/2012 8:44:46)

spoiler:

Ah. I guess they do.

Thank you so much. :)

Soo...
Can I give him any weapon and armor that I desire?

There's a lot of questions I would like answered. I want your Hero to be portrayed perfectly to a T.

Do you mind just PMing me with his attitude, nature, appearance, Age, NAME ?

Or am I free to provide my own interpretation?
I'd rather not.

Dwelling Dragonlord -> RE: (DF) Woe of The Seeker Comments & Criticism (6/27/2012 9:01:20)

@Arthur Dragonlord: My new avatar is what he would look like, you can find ALL the other required information in the story as well as here (future chapter).

It should give a pretty good idea what he's all about.

Arthur -> RE: (DF) Woe of The Seeker Comments & Criticism (6/27/2012 10:56:48)

Ohkay, so I know what he generally looks like. Spiky shoulder plates, light grey armor, cloth covering mouth.

But I still don't know his name. Do please reveal it to me.

Moving on, as much as I deduced of his nature, he is an experienced hero, a weary traveller, quite the dagger user and somehow, a good friend.

This will be my first time playing with others' characters. Do provide some time while I play with him a bit.

Anyways, on a general note, I will be taking a short break as I work on my Face-off story. The next update should be tomorrow night or the day after.

Also, in case you guys are wondering, that there in the dusty painting is Ash.

EDIT: OKAY!!

Dayum! How much time did it take you to make your Hero, Dwelling?

Guy's truly a jack of all trades. It's seriously gonna be a challenge drawing him out in my words.
But rest assured, have faith in my abilities. :)

Has anyone ever tried to use your Hero in his/her story before?

Dwelling Dragonlord -> RE: (DF) Woe of The Seeker Comments & Criticism (6/27/2012 11:49:38)

When I told you I gave it a lot of trouble and thought to make my story work for both AQ and DF-canon I wasn't joking.

It took me years and years of readjusting and I'm still afraid I forgot to tell you some of his capabilities. We're talking about someone who trained under multiple of the races on Lore.

That's why I told you to get a better image of this character by reading my story. The writer in me wants you to fully enjoy the story and fully understand the character. I can tell you but I truly believe you must get a "feel" for a character before you can properly write it down in words.

Nobody has ever tried to use my character in their story. (At least not that I'm aware of.)

Arthur -> RE: (DF) Woe of The Seeker Comments & Criticism (6/27/2012 12:06:41)

Hmm...

Don't worry. Around 3 more chapters before Azer makes his appearance.

But trust me to reveal an upgraded and yet the same old Hero that you created.

And so, I shall venture into your threads of fantasy.

Arthur -> RE: (DF) Woe of The Seeker Comments & Criticism (6/27/2012 17:37:42)

So, ladies and gentlemen.

Just to keep the discussion going.

What are you guys liking in this rather... grim story so far? What are you not liking? What seems off?Uh... what doesn't?

Also, I am still looking for that second Hero. Anyone interested?

nield -> RE: (DF) Woe of The Seeker Comments & Criticism (6/27/2012 17:41:29)

*Pokes his head in* I'm liking... well, all of it so far. Nothing seems off to me, but then, I always like making my 'Nothing you say in a piece of fiction can ever be wrong speech' unlimited possible universes and all that. Hrm, you tempt me, but I'mma say NO on that last part [8D]

Arthur -> RE: (DF) Woe of The Seeker Comments & Criticism (6/27/2012 17:49:55)

Ah. And I thought I'd finally get to get my hands on Garreth.
That it?
Is that your DF hero's name,Nield?

Also, so you were silently stalking this thread. You pink little stalker you...

Dwelling Dragonlord -> RE: (DF) Woe of The Seeker Comments & Criticism (6/27/2012 18:57:14)

@Arthur Dragonlord: I'm only thinking I read about a very similair story once.

Anyway, it's no shame for a discussion to drop silent. You learn that as you go. There are times when I release a chapter and I'm eager to see people's opinions, but I have to be patient. I cannot expect people to be there or even be aware of the update I just posted, though it generally does help if you update the thread in the Fanfiction Discussion as well.

Arthur -> RE: (DF) Woe of The Seeker Comments & Criticism (6/28/2012 2:13:19)

Hmm...

Guess you are right.

As it is, patience is a virtue.
