I would recommend focusing your stats on Int, Dex and Cha, then. It would also be a good idea to level up Necromancer and set that as your Class. Weapons Darkness seems like the best no-drop element for beastmasters, as it lacks any outstanding shields or weapons. As an FD beastmage, you'd benefit the most from tome weapons, as they free up several spell slots for guest summons: - Healing Branch (water and healing), - Lightning Rod (energy), - Loremaster's Tome (light, earth and harm spells). New Year's Baton inflicts Burn, which works nicely with Neko's lvl 8 passive. With Destruction Burst and Warmaster's Burst you don't really need weapons for fire, wind or darkness, so you can fill the rest of the slots with utility: - Lord of Thunder's Staff toggles between Burn and autohit. - Nightbane Clawstaff summons an earth guest that toggles to heal you based on damage dealt. - Havarti Blade gives 50% chance for pet/guest celerity after you attack with it. Armors No-drop Sol-Neko should cover light/earth, and with three elemental subrace variants you can cover every remaining element, leaving you with four slots for utility armors: - First of all, Necromancer! It's an exceptional endgame armor, with a variety of passives, toggles and skills, as well as several pets and guests you can summon. - Though Necromancer title will lock out some of the skills, I'd still suggest grabbing yourself a Paladin armor (Arcanist variant). It comes with several damaging skills, several light guests (including one that does 2x damage) and a toggle that boosts both your resistance and damage of pets/guests. - Archmage Apprentice is a spellcaster armor, which works nicely with Lightning Rod's spells. - And, of course, a wizard armor of your choice for farming. If you find yourself with an excess of URs, pick up some Bards of War, as they have toggles for pet/guest celerity. Shields Snuggle Hearts has Burn Potency, which works nicely with Neko's Burn toggle, burn pets and guests and New Year's Baton. Celtic shield still remains a top water shield for mages. Fujin shields have a Dex drive. Pies has Cha drive. Mother's Growth shield (returns around Mother's Day) also has Cha drive. Until then, Sol Shield gives an extra Neko charge each turn and slightly reduces damage taken based on your Cha. Umazen Aspis has Paralysis Potence. Mana Crystal Defender gives you a small Barrier each time you cast a spell. Spells Destruction Burst and Warmaster's Burst (wind) deal +50% damage for an hp cost. Sizzler 'Splosion is a staple of Shadow Roc farming. Frigid Fury remains pretty much the best ice spell we have. Necromancer provides fairly good guests for fire, ice, wind and darkness, Paladin fills the niche for light, and Nightbane Clawstaff summons an earth guest, so to fill in the remaining elemental slots you only need: - Fruitcake Zard (returns to the Void in ~2 months) has paralysis toggle, which pairs nicely with Umazen Aspis shield. Until then, you have a choice between Gaiden (toggles to heal) and Abyssal Undead Hydra (daze toggle). - Prototype Hunter Drone (Warlic's Shop -> Quests -> War Between Shadows -> Land of Rising Evil) toggles between Harm and Energy and deals +50% damage for an increased upkeep cost. That leaves two slots for utility spells: - Purple Rain (SFP / Love Potion / MG spam), - Moonwalker's Grace gives extra Dex, which is useful when facing the rare high-MRM mob. Pets Underwyrmling toggles to attack monster's sp. Great utility pet against certain bosses. Mutant Egg toggles to paralyze, which has great synergy with Umazen Aspis shield. Comes back on Grenwog (next months), so Protean (EleVuln toggle, so synergy with Healing Branch) should fill you in until then. Spotter Drake toggles between +10 Status Potency and +50% damage, making it the best wind pet in the game. When Woolzard returns to the Void, grab the pet, as it toggles between inflicting Sleep, EleVuln, and boosting the power of both statuses for an sp cost. Until then, pick up another Protean (also EleVuln) in the meantime. A final pair of Proteans would work for light and energy, and Aberrant remains the strongest dark pet. Necromancer provides a nice ice pet, so you have a spare slot for Fairy Godmother. P.S. Maybe pick up Fae Wanderer while you can? Miscs Elemental resistance miscs have slowly moved out of meta. They may be worth keeping in storage, but you rarely want to clog up your active slots with them. If you want a safety net, Cyclops' Eye should fill mostly the same niche for all elements. Essence Orb is a key misc for any playstyle, as it allows for quickcast (doesn't take a turn) conversion of hp into sp, which allows you to spam skills a lot more often. Rejuvenating Necklace restores mp based on damage dealt. It's not a lot, but can come in handy for both casting spells and supporting guests. Love Potion and Shadowfeeder Pendant are both miscs with spammable quickcast skills, which have great synergy with Purple Rain. One stuns the monster, other gives you celerity (an extra turn). Goggernaut Helm gives +10 bth to every attack on the field. This extends to your pet/guest and doesn't /2 for spells. Frostgale's Remorse gives +20 Freeze/Paralysis potence. Sunburst Amulet gives +20 Burn Potence and has a pure Burn infliction skill. When April Fools comes around, pick up Clever Disguise. The misc pays your turn and some sp to grant your pet and guest guaranteed celerity. P.S. If you find yourself with a UR GGB, Prime Chaos Orb would be your first priority. It has a quickcast skill that scrambles monster resists and increases all damage on the field by 10%. Hope the info's useful and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions!
