And that's all she wrote! Many thanks to everyone who took part. I enjoyed chatting with all of you. I hope my responses brought you deep philosophical insight, memorable entertainment or a mild and forgettable distraction. (whichever you were after ;)) I should have the last of your questions answered in the next few days so check back regularly. After that this MtAK will join the many tomes of its kind in the archives. Again, thank you for the kind, crazy and ridiculous words and for making me feel welcome as an AK. I look forward to seeing more of you all around the forums! Locked... ~LANDIS P.S. *whew* All done! Those who asked questions already been inquired upon many times over may have been met with ridiculous/outlandish alternative answer chains. Below are just a few of my favorites for your amusement. 1. "Why the name LANDIS/What Does LANDIS mean?" (Chain of 5) quote:
5. Funny you should say that. LANDIS stands for Lime And Nachotive Dimensions In Space! Ok, ok... so that also was pulled out of my Acronym Silliness Storage. (for real answer see post 162 on page 7 of this thread) 4. It stands for Legendary And Nearly Drowned In Spam. And yet another answer pulled from my Acronym Silliness Storage. ;) (for real answer see post 157 on page seven of this thread) 3. A. It came in a vision — a land crab appeared on a flaming pie and said unto me, "From this day on you are LAND IS with no space" ;) B. It stands for Living All Night's Dreams In Sorrow. Yet another invented answer pulled from my Acronym Silliness Storage. ;) (for real answer see post 103 on page five of this thread) 2. A. It's an acronym. It stands for Long After Nightfall Dwelling In Shadow. Again I pulled that out of my Acronym Silliness Storage. ;) (for real answer see post 14 on page one of this thread) B. Because the voices in my head said go BIG! (see post 14 and post 3 on page one of this thread for the real answers) 1. Loyally Always Noble In Spirit... Actually I just pulled that out of my Acronym Silliness Storage. In reality I merely like the sound of the name... or do I? 2. "What is an ArchKnight/What do AKs do?" (Chain of 6) quote:
6. *Dramatic nusic* "Legend tells of a legendary warrior who's ArchKnight skills were the stuff of legend! He traveled the forums in search of worthy foes. He was so deadly in fact that his enemies would go blind from overexposure to pure awesomeness." Ok, so that's an exaggeration... (for real answer see post 199 on page eight of this thread. But be forewarned, you may have to embark on quite a quest to obtain the answer you seek!) 5. As little as possible... We use our buttons to spend all our time playing practical jokes. In fact AK doesn't stand for ArchKnight, it's short for Always Kidding... ;) (for real answer see post 194 on page eight of this thread) 4. It's not a stupid question! Lets look it up shall we? Arch: Adjective 1. knowing or superior 2. coyly playful (I like that one) Kinght: Noun A defender, champion, or zealous upholder of a cause or principle. And there you have it! (for further details on what a forum AK is see post 136 on page six of this thread) 3. Sure! We're actually all employees of the McDonald's fast food cooperation. The "Arch" position of our name refers to the golden arches of the McDonald's logo. The cooperation saw online games as an untapped resource for advertising so here we are! (for real answer see post 106 on page five of this thread) 2. ArchKnights are an ancient order of elite warriors trained to combat spam and sinister shrubberies. We are so name because we are trained to arch our backs in such as way as to intimate spam large and small! (for the real deal see post 98 on page four of this thread) 1. Beats me! If you ever find out be sure to fill me in, k? I might find the knowledge particularly relevant to my current situation... ;) Here is a summery of what an AK is. For further detail on forum Staff, Mods and their helpers follow this link. quote:
ArchKnights (AKs) Title: ArchKnight (Will include "Arch" or "AK" and the name/s of the board/s they work in) Responsibility: To help the moderators keep the forum clean. They patrol their assigned boards helping users, watching for and dealing with rules violations (such as spam, flaming, trolling, etc). They issue warnings and recommend bans to the moderators. In addition, they keep an eye out for helpful forum users to bring to the attention of the moderators/administrators. They may have other duties depending on which board/s they work. Selection: AKs are selected from among helpful forum users (who do not appear to actively be seeking power/advancement) by the head moderator of the board/s they frequent. The head moderator discusses their selection with Reens, the head of the ArchKnights, and if she approves, they are brought aboard. 3. Do you like/enjoy/what's it like/how do you feel being an ArchKnight? (Chain of 5 and various random replies) quote:
5. They can shackle my body but my spirit runs free... until Alac swallows it whole... (for real answer see post 186 on page eight of this thread) 4. Actually when becoming an AK they fit you with a color that makes it impossible to feel or express emotion so "liking" anything is no longer feasible... (for real answer see post 178 on page eight of this thread) 3. It's a living... Well actually it's not as we are not paid... ;) (for real answer see post 150 on page six of this thread) 2. A. About as much as I like giving a Gorillaphant a root canal... J/K (for real answer see post 114 on page 5 of this thread) B. Claddified... I could tell you but then I'd have to pwn you! J/K (for real answer see post 114 on page 5 of this thread) 1. No! It's constant torturer, help me please!!! *officials in dark glasses and suits restrain me, cover my mouth and inject my neck with some kind of serum* uh... yeah, it's great. I'm honored to be a part of the team... How it feels: Well there's a saying... "Power Corrupts, Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely, But It Rocks Absolutely Too!" though I lean more towards the ol' "With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility". ;) Like a dragon egg sandwich with holy wasabi on the side... It felt like drinking a surpee cup full of lava and getting a reverse brain freeze/brain fry! J/K Like little leprechauns are kicking the lobes of my brain from the inside! Feels good, a bit daunting at times... 4. What's the meaning of life/Why is everyone here? (Chain of 6) quote:
4. To play AE Games of course! (for real answer see post 168 on page seven of this thread) 3. To debate that question Ad infinitum... (for real answer see post 117 on page five of this thread) 2. Cookies! (for real answer see post 25 on page one of this thread) 1. 42... If that doesn't work for you try this on for size... We all have to find our own meaning of life. That which gives us purpose and meaning/a reason for being. So the question in fact is, "What is your meaning of life?" Waxing too philosophical for ya? ;) 5. How do you become an ArchKnight/Can I be an AK? (Chain of 6) quote:
6. I was shot with a tranquilizer dart and woke up in shackles in my cell... (for real answer see post 132 on page six of this thread) 5. They send a carrier pigeon trained to sing the telegram it bears. Or they send a PM, Whichever tickles your fancy. 4. Accidentally subject yourself to gamma radiation! (for real answer see post 138 on page six of this thread) 3. If you really want to become an AK follow the instuctions found here--> (See post 73 on page three of this thread) 2. An arcane ritualistic sacrifice involving a goat, lime jello and a cast iron claw foot tub full of potato salad... ;) (See post 2 on the first page of this thread for real answer) 1. A. You are invited to become one. B. Know and obey all the forum rules. Be helpful and courteous to others. Forfeit your soul! So endeth the best of the wacky response chains. Just goes to show ya; Ask a repetitive question get a barrage of ridiculous answers... ;) Take care all, until we post again! ~LANDIS Your Friendly Forumhood ArchKnihgt!
