Experience rewarded: Scaled Gold rewarded: Scaled Monsters (10) Bubble (2) Puddle (4) Water Elemental (1) Prime Water Elemental, (2) Bubble - Boss NPCs Mihyun Myalos Notha Queen Victoria Uaanta Rewards Hyonite Bracelet Dialogue *You, your dragon, and Mihyun are in Mihyun's private chamber on Swordhaven Castle following the Shadowscythe Assassin's assassination attempt on Mihyun; Mihyun looks at a stone near her staff; a door opens as Queen Victoria comes back to check on them.* Queen Victoria: Okay, I'm back. *Scene zooms out as you face Queen Victoria as she enters the scene.* Queen Victoria: Thankfully our Vind friends have volunteered to help the knights evacuate the guests. Queen Victoria: How are you feeling, <Dragon>? Do you still sense anything? <Dragon>: I feel a little full... but nothing else! | *Cheerful chirp* <Character>: We should be safe, for now. Queen Victoria: What a mess. *Listening to the Assassin's words, Mihyun stops looking at the stone as she is forced to tell the truth about herself and the Hyonites.* Mihyun: I... I know I have a lot of explaining to do... Queen Victoria: I'd say so. You led an assassin into the middle of my castle! Queen Victoria: Now, I trust you didn't intentionally mean us harm. But you're clearly not an emissary. Mihyun: I'm sorry. You're right. I'm not. Mihyun: My mother is the leader of the Hyonites. Mihyun: I... snuck through the rift, because she was about to begin the next stage of the attack, and I thought if I disappeared... Mihyun: Maybe she would hold off or delay the invasion. Mihyun: I thought... that maybe I could find a way to stop things before they escalated. <Character>: Or she might redouble her efforts if she thought we had you. *Mihyun is surprised by your words of her mother's presumable plans to get her.* Mihyun: Um. I didn't think about that. Sorry. Queen Victoria: Hmm. I understand wanting peace, but why risk finding us on your own? Queen Victoria: You had no guarantee that we'd be sympathetic or willing to help. Mihyun: Even in the Plains, we've heard whispers of heroes in the Beyond who accomplish mighty feats and defeat great evils. <Character>: Of me and <Dragon>? Mihyun: Maybe? We mostly hear stories from traders and caravans that stop by. Stories about the Beyond are mostly considered tall tales... Mihyun: Exaggerations of massive dragons clashing, heroes facing down armies and monstrous villains. That sort of thing. Mihyun: I always liked those stories. I always believed there had to be some truth to them. Mihyun: I thought, if I could find a hero of the Beyond like the ones in the stories, um, they'd be able to solve everything! *After Mihyun tells you about her plan to meet you and your dragon in order to stop the invasion, she realizes that her plan might have backfired.* Mihyun: I... Um... I'm starting to realize how stupid and naive that was. Queen Victoria: ...And I'm starting to realize this could have gone a lot worse. <Dragon>: I feel like you've done stupider, right, <Character>? | *Smug grumble, targeted at <Character>* <Character>: We don't talk about that, <Dragon>. <Character>: Well, you got lucky, Mihyun. You found us. We just so happen to be heroes good at solving problems! Mihyun: Really? Victoria mentioned you were heroes, and the way you fought the assassin was so...! I mean... you'll help, then? <Character>: That assassin was working for the Shadowscythe. <Character>: If there's anything I've learned, Shadowscythe plans are far-reaching, and never good for anyone involved. <Character>: Killing you would have guaranteed a war with the Hyonites. <Character>: And if that war benefits the Shadowscythe, then we must find a way to stop it. Queen Victoria: Are the Shadowscythe the ones threatening your home in the Plains, Mihyun? Mihyun: Um. No... I've only heard about them and agents of Doom from stories. Mihyun: In the Plains, it's usually the Ashen Kingdom and Kinnaran mercenaries attacking us. Queen Victoria: Hmm. What do you think, "heroes"? Any ideas for the next step? *Assessing their options, you decided to go to the Deadlands Proclamation rift in order to enter the Water Plains.* <Character>: We'll go through the rift. To the Plains. <Dragon>: We can take the fight to them! | *Eager chirping!* <Character>: We'll speak to Mihyun's mother, and find a solution. Bringing her daughter back should help. Queen Victoria: Hmm. I trust you. But we'll still need someone to go to the Locker. Queen Victoria: Letting Aquella know about the Hyonites could help our cause, and also be a contingency in case anything goes wrong. Queen Victoria: The water elves are very distrusting of outsiders, so someone who Aquella is acquainted with— *Suddenly, Notha, Myalos, and Uaanta forcibly open the door in order to enter Mihyun's chamber; Myalos lies on the floor after they open the door.* Notha: Did someone say they were going to the Plains? Queen Victoria: Who—? Queen Victoria: Oh. It's you three. I told you to guard the door, not listen at it! Queen Victoria: This is the worst time to be startling people! Uaanta: Apologies, your Majesty. I'll be sure to keep these two on a tighter leash. <Character>: Guard duty? For them? That's a new one. Queen Victoria: I know you've worked with them before, and I've had Circe keeping an eye on them, to be safe. Queen Victoria: From her assessment, they're powerful and trustworthy. <Character>: That's... one way to describe them. Queen Victoria: It was just for the moment, anyway, after all the chaos earlier. Their main purpose here is studying the rift. Notha: Yes, but this is much more exciting! And technically involves the rift, too! Mihyun: Um. Are you also heroes? Myalos: I could never be a hero..., Notha: That depends., Uaanta: Of course! *Sometime later, Queen Victoria greets the Royal Research Team—a team consisting of Notha, Uaanta, and Myalos—to Mihyun.* Queen Victoria: ...May I present to you, the Royal Research Team. Queen Victoria: Notha. Queen Victoria: Uaanta. Queen Victoria: And Myalos. Mihyun: Um. Hello. I'm Mihyun. Notha: You're from the Plains? I have so many questions! Uaanta: Give the girl some space, Notha! <Character>: I assume the three of you want to join us? Notha: Lhe'Shyiac had a few shattered Exalted ruins in my time, but we never found a way to enter the Plains. Uaanta: It's said the Makers had domains in the lands beyond ours. I would like to see them for myself! Myalos: It would be an adventure. Queen Victoria: And what about your duties here? You're supposed to research the Proclamation rift! Notha: Well, we can't do that without getting closer, right? Notha: Maybe we could discover something on the other side that would help! Queen Victoria: I suppose... <Character>: How about this? <Dragon> and I will go with Mihyun. <Character>: Once we establish peace, then you can follow. We don't want to overwhelm the Hyonites. Uaanta: Thoughtful. <Character>: And in the meantime, you can go to the Locker and let Aquella know about the Hyonites. Queen Victoria: That works for me. Consider it your current assignment, you three. Myalos: An important duty! Notha: So you're saying, the sooner we get back, the sooner we can join you in the Plains? <Character>: I mean, it still depends on if— Notha: Say no more! Let's go, Myalos! Pack your things, Uaanta! *Myalos and Uaanta leaves Mihyun's chamber as they travel to the Locker in order to meet Aquella; as Notha is about to leave, she leaves a clue to you about Aequilibria's appearance on the Plains.* Notha: It's funny, <Character>. I was going to suggest we travel to the Plains to learn more about Aequilibria, anyway. Notha: That's where it's said they came from before Lore, after all! *Notha smiles as she floats in order to leave the chamber.* Queen Victoria: You have... strange friends. <Character>: I also knew a princess who used to moonlight as a noble thief! Queen Victoria: Point taken. <Character>: If everything else is taken care of, we'll get going. <Dragon>: Don't forget to pack extra snacks! Who knows how long we'll be away? | *Excited growls* Queen Victoria: One last thing, Mihyun. What was that book you were interested in earlier? Mihyun: Oh! Um, the title is "The Fall of Wrath: Alteon's Ascension". It just... looked interesting. Queen Victoria: I see. Why not take it with you? Mihyun: Do you mean it? I really can? Queen Victoria: Absolutely. Consider it a gift. Mihyun: Thank you so much, Queen Victoria! *Scene fades to black.* Mihyun joins you as Guest A. *Scene fades back in as you, your dragon, and Mihyun are in the Deadlands, which is raining due to the Proclamation Rift nearby.* Mihyun: I'm going to miss the rain... <Character>: You don't have rain in the Water Plains? Mihyun: Ahaha. That is quite the misunderstanding! There are a number of different "Water Plains". Mihyun: But no, in our lands, it doesn't rain. It's um, a long story. <Character>: That still seems odd... The other rifts seemed to match the environments on the other side. <Character>: Why don't you tell me about it along the way? Mihyun: Okay! And um, don't worry about dispelling the elemental scouts. The faster we get back, the better, right? *You fight various water elementals as you search for the rift; during your search, you listen to Mihyun's story about the Water Plains.* Mihyun: So, um... where to start...? Oh, I know! My staff!, Mihyun: You might have noticed earlier, but my staff uses water crystals to focus and channel water magic! <Character>: You can't naturally cast water magic?, Mihyun: No, we lost that ability when the Avatar of Water abandoned us. <Character>: Uh. Was that something that happened recently?, Mihyun: Ahaha! No, of course not. This was far in the distant past. Back then, the Avatar of Water and the Great Dragon Hyonix were feuding. Mihyun: My people stood with Hyonix, and as punishment, Neso cursed us and our lands. That's why it doesn't rain., Mihyun: We lost our ability to manipulate water magic and the lands dried up. It was not within Hyonix's power to restore us. Mihyun: Instead, he gifted us with our companions, the vaporbeasts., Mihyun: We create empty crystals, and channel the water produced by the vaporbeasts to charge them. Mihyun: The crystals let us use water magic for all sorts of things, from protection to levitation, to combat..., <Character>: They must be very precious, then. Mihyun: Oh yes. They have more mundane uses, too! ...And they're why we're constantly under attack., Mihyun: Oh! But we're getting close to the rift, now. You'll be able to see for yourself how we live. Mihyun: Just let me handle any Hyonite guards. The elementals are one thing, but I'd rather not hurt my people. *Eventually, you, your dragon, and Mihyun find the rift, where they go there in order to enter the Water Plains; they overlook multiple beasts, an opening that contains a blue moon, and a castle from a distance through a cliff.* Complete Quest Other information A HP/MP healing pad can be found during the quest.
