After the strength and support nerf of the final week of the golden yeti tournament, these aggressive builds became too ineffective for PvP. I personally liked the balance of the the first week of the Golden Yeti Tournament where offenses and defenses were pretty proportional.
It was fine when offenses improved every 5 points, but making it like 2 damage for 15 points was too much.

What does this have to do with focus?

You see, when you look at a focus build, it's not a BALANCED focus build where its offenses and defenses are spread out evenly. It's a TANK focus build and because a robot increases with a defensive stat, that's why a focus tank is so effective. I mean a support focus build or a str focus build are OK, but they're not that good... This also explains why caster tech mages are also effective enough to compete against other builds since their moves are based from defensive stats. Look at those surgical strike TLMs, they're pretty good too. Think of any build that works effectively with a defensive stat and notice that they're probably the only type of builds you see in Omega right now.

Now think of str BH...it's practically a joke. One energy drain and they're gone. Same with str/supp CH.


So what is my solution?

If you guys look at goldslayer's thread about "Stat Balance and Other Idea", you will notice most of the ideas are pretty good so check it out.
Anyways...

I think stat scaling should return to old Beta where defenses go up every 3 points and offenses every 4 points. The reason is because since the great amount of deducted stats in Omega caused a low build diversity, either we increase the amount of stats every has where every weapon has the same amount of stats as your level (goldslayer's idea) or we can just decrease the scaling like Beta...or similar.

If you guys have any solutions, I would also like to hear from your replies.

yes, as u may have heard from my other thread, offensive stats aren't worth investing in. (this isn't about abuse, this is about statistical balance)

thats because
54 Dex/Tech = 18-22 Def/Res
54 Str/Supp = 12-15 Pri/Aux
101 Dex/Tech = 29-35 Def/Res
100 Str/Supp = 19-23 Pri/Aux

defensive stats
Scale by 3 until 54 stats
then scale by 4 till 86
after that, it scales by 5.

offensive stats
Scale by 4 until 54
then scale by 6 till 84
then scales by 8 the rest of the way (O.O 8!! thats ridiculous)

The first week of the tournament was chaos. Everyone as they were in the past was abusing the crap out of support, and was going merc or tactical merc to abuse the aux multi combo. Also to add injury to insult thanks to people complaining about support being worthless Rabble rewrote the going first formula which gave support even more of a buff then it needed. I played through that first week and it was so frustrating using a non abusive build only to run into 100+ support builds everywhere.

You may have liked it but having to be forced to use extreme support or die wasn't fun.

Well people complained about everything that was OP and destroying the masses (AKA Quick kill/high damage output builds) and the staff nerfed them like the masses wanted.

still though, i think the balance team should have had better judgement in making some of these changes. (plasma armor is a great example)

On another note

I have a level 27 merc that using a strength focus build to test out your theory midnight. As it stand now it is doing well at that level especially against caster TM when I use my physical primary. On my main I am using a support focus build and even with support being my strongest stat with moderate defenses, I can still hold my own against focus 5 tanks with 40+ defense and resist.

Plasma armor was the thing that showed that static was vastly OP. Otherwise static would still be going through defenses and giving back 20+ energy.
