Ok, so everyone knows what Ranks are.
At first, they seemed like a really cool new leveling system, but now, they're just advantages hardcore players have over everyone else.
It is pretty much impossible to beat a Rank 30-70, if you're a Rank 1 or so, like me.
I can barely win anymore, because hardcore players that have nothing else to do play all day, level up, and then obliterate the players that can only get on maybe for 30 minutes a day, or less.
So, was the Rank System a good idea?
Yes.
Was it good in actuality?
No.
Not only does it hurt the players that can't play 24/7, it makes EpicDuel lose money.
That is because, people not being able to win drives away players, which means any money that those players might have spent on ED will not be spent.
This just leaves the hardcore players and the people that don't really car if they win/lose.
Honestly, I don't care about getting a win, per say.
When there is a war going on, I care about losing 5 times in a row just because my opponent has more time to spend then me.
Which in turn, I can't get war drops, so if I want to get to the 5,000 Influence level I need to buy the Commander Core, and hope for the best.
Then, when I get a measly drop, I boost it.
Because there would be no way to get as far as I want to get in the war without doing that.
I just find it wrong that just because someone plays more than you means that they will defeat you.
Ranks should not give advantages to battle, but give access to other stuff, like hair styles, bikes, etc..
So, what are your thoughts?

I made a thread suggesting a change to the ranks

I made this thread because of this, but at the same time most have the following answer.

"NPC 100 wins per day to catch up"

Since most of them did just that.

As it is right now we can't afford another filter cutting the player pool for legendary ranks due to the small player base.

I don't know about you guys but I never thought this system was a good idea,

And I did remember urging them to change it before people get to high and spend too much, and alas it is past that point and to change it means disappointment for many.


Never the less the sacrifice needs to be made for the good of the game and an overhaul of this system like mothers idea is required, better late then never I guess.

Perhaps they should add some sort of compensation to those that did spend time and money getting a high rank.

I couldnt disagree more, after returning to the ED community i myself sit at level 39 as of leveling thismorning and i can beat rank 40+'s, not all of them but a fair few of them it depends on build type, strategic moves by both parties and yes even luck, someonetimes you win, sometimes you dont but when your rank 40+ will you still be saying the same?, the whole idea of ranks was introduced well mainly because the playerbase has been declining and adding more odinary levels would widen the gap making it alot slower when paring up battles, something which can already be time consuming, if they dont give people something to work towards, i.e rank or level they soon bore and leave which would also reduce the playerbases size something ED cannot afford to do at the moment

^ working at a rank does not need to mean providing an unfair advanatge.


Take league of legends for example, once you hit 30 you gain the same full advantage as everyone else in terms of numbers.


Yet millions of players continue to play despite not gaining anything except for personal skill and a rank to represent it.


Imagine if league of legends gave the higher ranking players more stats....

Imagine how stupid of a feature that would be as it limits any newer players from standing a chance against the both stat wise and skill wise players better then them..


Well guess what, that feature is in epic duel...

I honestly love the rank system why? because it gives a bonus and a reason to keep going. will it ever get its battle scale fixed? yes definitely i perdict the game cap will be level41 rank 60 or rank 100 people they could vs lvl40 rank 50+
the player base in the 40's will be increased by over 100s by that time. so the battle scale will be improved rank 50+ wouldnt be able to fight below 40 so that will help with lowbies. rank 50 vs 25 lowest. rank 25 vs rank 5 lowest. rank 5-1 vs lvl36 lowest. i see this being made sometime in the near future

All the players that ranked up in pvp arn t higher than ranks 30 atm, or they dont even play anymore.
The only real way to rank up is npcs.
There are two classes able to kill big tuna in 4 turns, merc and cyber hunter.In power hour you can kill the npc up to 80 times, for 22 exp each win, that means that in an hour, you ll have 1760 exp.Investing very little effort evryday you can pass really fast all of those ranks +20 you see in pvp.If with all of this you bought some boosters now and then, you will do it even faster.
The important thing is fixing the battle matchmaking once enought players have reached level 40.

It was because of these ranks that level's 40's player range took a hit. However, without a player base to support said change longer wait times await all. There needs to be something to help compensate wait times if this is done. Especially since players are NPC'ing more due to these ranks making it even harder to find fights during non peak hours.

how about if big tuna plays 1/1 and 2/2 and just junps in so there are no wait times and you get fights all the time

Sounds a lot like the suggestion I made, however at the same time if I remember correctly due to how long the ranks have been in the game some people would quit if either my or Xendran's idea was put into play due to them feeling like they were ripped off even though it is really removing the flawed part they should have never reintroduced.

^ That is not really a big issue since people are quitting on both sides of the argument,

So they might as well change it for the better long run of the game.

The rank system is fine, the main problem with it is that very few people can keep up with those at the higher ranks therefore a gap has been created. I personally wish peoples wins before the legendary mode was implemented were considered for possible ranks, because when you see a rank 60 warlord, but a rank 5 or so player who has 100k 1 vs 1 or over 20k 2 vs 2, it just seems unfair for those players as they have been at the competitive level much longer, just not during this time. Whilst that could be the whole point of the new legendary mode for newer more active players to get an edge, the last thing we need is losing even more players. Not that they'd even consider this, but if they did put the effort to calculating everyone's total exp from their battles and enabled them to use that for more ranks. I can garentee that a lot of players would return and Epicduel would become a lot more competitive and alts overpowering the leader boards would be less of a problem.
