You are mad

You are mad,
Clearly,
yet you try to hide it.

You are furious,
as you calmly,
storm out of the room.

I think you might hate me,
as you say,
“no, really, I’m fine.”

Yet still

I believe you enjoy it,
as you see the tears within my eyes.

Why?
Father
Why?
Why can’t we just get along?

Yesterday’s sorrow

The sun shines upon today,
as it’ll shine upon tomorrow.
Burning away,
all of yesterday’s sorrow.

The birds bring an ode upon today,
as they’ll bring upon tomorrow.
Singing away,
all of yesterday’s sorrow.

The flowers sparkle upon today,
as they’ll sparkle upon tomorrow.
Sparkling away,
all of yesterday’s sorrow.

But as I look upon today,
as I look upon tomorrow.
I can only fear the sorrow,
that is the day after tomorrow.

Today I am pretending

Today I am pretending,
today I act all day.
That’s the easiest thing to do,
better for your health
then getting in their way.

I could be myself,
that’d be fun for a change.
But there you have it,
my biggest problem.

No matter how I feel.
They would never let me change.

This poem is dedicated to a good friend of mine. If you are at-least somewhat familiar with IRC you should know who I'm talking about. For those that aren't, it might be time to find out.

Ode to a friend

I like you,
dear Skooby.
I like you,
dear friend.
I like you,
dear Ana.
I like you with no end.

And while I might’ve never met you,
while I might live many miles away.
While I might not have ever heard your voice,
or ever looked you in the eye.

Still I know,
deep inside.
That for you,
I’d die.

Insanity

Running through the streets.
Screaming loud,
obnoxiously loud.

Not caring who’s watching,
not caring who’s around.

Putting stuff on fire.
Sometimes something that is yours,
sometimes just you.

Not caring about the consequences,
not caring about what the flames can do.

Doing whatever you please.
For no reason at all,
thus for a reason.

But if you’d pay attention for once,
you’d find.

Your insanity is just a state of mind.

Lately

Lately I am getting this feeling,
strangely new to me.
The feelings the things I do,
and say,
matter.
Actually.

Lately I am getting the feeling,
I am finally free.
Free from the sadness that filled me before.
As I know,
there are people out there whom actually like me.

The words fly through my head.

Left.
Right.

Up.

And Down.

Always spinning in a circle,
[colour=#EEEEEE]_________________never predictable,
never slowing down.
ORDER.

Not here.

Only chaos.
But have no fear.

Eventually chaos will calm down.
Settle in one place,
it’s place.

and then
you’ll see

we can bring a sense of order to this space.

The end

I’m driving in my car,
down a random road.
Through a random village
towards a certain goal.

I see people walking,
people running,
people having fun.

I see them
but I can’t believe it
as I sigh and take a turn.

Don’t they know the end is coming?
Don’t they know the world will soon be dead?
Don’t they hear your call now, Father?
Telling them how death is just ahead.

I park my car at the gas station,
still not believing my eyes.
As I walk into the shop
I can’t help but wonder
who amongst them will be the first to die.

And yet again, I see them laughing,
yet again, I see them talk.

As I stare at them
-flabbergasted-
a pause befalls my walk.

Don’t they know the end is coming?
Don’t they know the world will soon be dead?
Don’t they hear your call now, Father?
Telling them how death is just ahead.

Once I’ve paid
I walk outside.
Thoughts still running rampage in my head.
Those people are so ignorant,
how can they not notice
their ever-nearing dead?

Don’t they know the end is coming?
Don’t they know the world will soon be dead?
Don’t they hear your call now, Father?
Telling them how death is just ahead.

By now I’ve passed the town,
I know the end is nigh.
So I stop at the first cliff I can find
that’s just as steep
as it is high.

As I work out if I should pray or curse,
you answer for me.
A gust of wind blows in my back

and I fall.

Dead.

This was not the end of the world
for anyone but me.
I could’ve known that,
but my visions
made me way too blind to see.

Thanks to Eukara for the awesome title.
Never miss

Breath in…
Breath out…
Always remember
What your job is all about.

I lay here,
though I’m not sure were here is.
The sun burning into my back,
but it cannot burn into my focus,
as I know I may not miss.

Always aim a little higher…
Keep in mind the wind…
Breath in…
Breath out…

I spot my target
one, no, one and a half miles away.
For a while I follow him,
I learn his behaviour as fast as I can.

Does he duck or seem weary?
Does he move around a lot?
Is he aware of the fact
he might,
at any time,
get shot?

My finger moves over the trigger
squeezing it slowly.

Breath in…
Bang!

Another death…
Another casualty of my war…

I sigh as I see people seeking cover,
panic among the masses.
I sigh and slowly make my way past the Mc Donald’s towards the car.

Is there a sadder thing?

Is there a sadder thing in this world
then a parent crying over a child?

Is there a sadder thing then a father
that survived the crash in which his son died?

Is there a sadder thing then a mother
with her daughter murdered by the man she trusted most?

Is there a sadder thing then knowing
your child died long before you?

Because,
frankly,
I don’t hope there is.

This poem is a colab between me and Eukara. The parts I wrote are in This colour, bolded While Euky's parts are in the exact same colour unbolded. :^P
Have fun reading.

The Olympics

The music reaches its climax
as a lone figure climbs upon a stage.
In his hand not a weapon,
in his mind not even a hint of rage.

In his hand he holds a simple flame,
that has travelled many miles across the globe.
A flame symbolising more then only fair-play,
a flame symbolising hope.

As millions of eyes watch ever on
the flame illuminates the night.
Showing the world that one place, one flame
could make everything right.

United they watch, flame spirals up.
To life, the Olympic torch roars,
thousand below watch on in awe.
Hope, upon heated wings, does soar.

And as it spreads through the thousands of people in the stadium,
it is caught by the camera’s lens.
And transported to millions of people all across the world,
from interested watchers, to dedicated fans.

The entire world,
joined in a collective sigh.
Looking at the flame
burning ever-bright

Wide-eyed, the audience watched,
as performance after performance astounded.
The athletes marched, flags waving high,
a the world’s sigh collectively sounded.

The weight of peace rested on these shoulders,
as all would watch their actions.
Would they compete together in peace?
Or would there be distractions?

Sporters from throughout the world,
competing to be the best.
Not a single incident,
peace between the east and west.

People cheer together,
regardless of colour and race,
language and religion
or the shape of ones face

The games begin, as the world looks on,
And teammates watch in anticipation.
Would they medal, would they win?
Or would they let down their entire nation?

Moments of grace and sportsmanship
between one athlete and the next
give all those viewing at home
something noteworthy to respect.

And while some might think these games are all about money,
all about winning, all about fame.
Or just that it’s all simply
just a stupid game.

To most, it has been something special,
a time for friends to get together and cheer.
And a special time for families to sit and watch,
bonding once again, loving, completely sincere.

I am what I am not

I am not immortal,
yet I have died a thousand times before,
and will probably die a thousand times more.

I wish I were immortal.

I do not live forever,
yet I have lived longer then the earth,
and will probably live far past the next earth’s birth.

I wish I lived forever.

I am not all powerful,
yet my power has no limit,
and I can do anything with it.

I wish I was all powerful.

I am not,
yet I am,
and I can.

I wish I was.

All I do is wish.

The quiet train station

I live near a train station,
well, it’s not as much a train station as it is a border of stone
with a ticket-purchasing machine upon it,
located next to a train track.
Little might be too big a word,
come to think of it.

I wonder about this train station,
about what it would think
if it could.

I wonder if this little train station,
visited by trains
not more than twice a day,
even realises the vast network of fellow train stations,
-some smaller, most larger-
it is connected too.

I wonder if this train station wonders
where those trains come from
or where they will go.

I wonder ‘til I realise,
‘til I wake up from my dream.

I look at the clock, but I’m already too late,
as at that little train station,
that small
-unknowing-
train station.
The train I am supposed to catch,
by now is miles away.

The lightning

A sudden flash of lightning
in a clear, nightly sky.
Harbourer of doom,
to those who will soon die.

Time as treated you great,
life has treated you well.
But soon you’ll join
the ranks of those,
who saw the lightning
the night before they fell.

A silent flash of lighting,
in a cold, nightly sky.
Harbourer of doom,
to those who will soon die.

But do not fear the lightning,
do not fear your end,
do not fear the place
of which you feverishly dreamt.

Instead, ask yourself a question,
as you behold the star-ridden sky.
Just ask yourself,
rather simply,
”why?”

Request Accepted: Randomness Ensues

I'm excited about this,
all these twists,
writing with you.
I just wish I knew.

I'm excited as well
I can't wait to see
what we'll come up with
what topics we'll wield
either interesting or just plain crazy

Random am I,
totally random are we,
I hope the readers like,
if not, I had fun
just writing with you.

Random it is
random we'll be
oh god I cannot wait
to let the other's see
what we can do,
you and me

I totally agree.
We are a good team,
you and me.
It may not be the best,
surely not the worst,
I hope you have fun writing with me.

with you fun is imminent,
an unavoidable fact
as you,
to me
are a source of great respect

So are you, brave little Knight,
your words ring true.
A dare made, request accepted,
I'm glad we have the chance to show
fun with you in writing.

this poem
my friend
is growing evermore to my liking

A simple piece
wrote on the fly,
or was it pulled from the sky?
I dont think half bad,
this work of you and I.

You know what?
Let's ask the world for their opinion
this poem for all to see
this poem for all to like
they'll love it don't you think?

I love the idea!
Tis like a game,
all random-like,
crazy too. I sure have fun,
writing with you.

Well,
honestly,
I did so too

This piece of ours,
may not rock the world;
but I know one thing,
be something we never forget.
A piece to ask, to request,
a piece in response, how clever was that?

I surely know that you are clever
while you always keep your cool
of all the poets in the world
I'm glad I had the chance to write with you!

Be a hero

There is a certain irony
to living in a tyranny.
To having a dictator
dictate your every move.

And sure it’s fine,
as long as all is well.
As long as it is your neighbours
and not you
that feel the pain of this evil’s spell.

But soon enough evil will turn against you,
and what will you do then?
Call out for help,
to one of you,
one of them?

Or will you call out for a hero
upon a white horse.
To help the ones that suffer,
to help the ones that fall.

If so let me tell you a secret;
heroes do not exist
not at all.

No one thinks of another,
before thinking of themselves.
No man,
no woman
and certainly no child.

Though this can change,
believe me, it can.
All we really need
is one brave man.

One to stand up against evil,
one to help the ones that suffer
and the ones that fall.
One that cares for his neighbour,
one that proves me wrong
and expects nothing back at all.

So follow no evil,
follow no man.
Follow goodness and honesty,
the best you possibly can.

And then,
perhaps,
you will be the knight in shining armour.
On his horse of white,
charging towards evil
ready for a fight.

The relativity of anonymity

You think you are invisible,
unfindable,
hidden behind your screen.
In the safety of your home.

Who could possibly find you anyway?
Who could possibly know?
It’s not like you’re giving out your phone number
to everyone and his little bro.

Still you are another victim,
of the relativity
of anonymity.

Clearly.

See,
They know what you are doing,
they know what you are saying,
they know what you look for
on the internet.

They know your name
and your age.
They know the colour of your socks
and the name of your pet.

They know,
but you don’t.
That is the relativity
of anonymity
on the internet.

The ocean

With a mighty roar
the ocean throws itself against the coast.
Fighting,
seemingly,
to claim itself even more.

Never tired.
The black waves bash again and again,
under the grey,
clouded sky.
As I try to imagine,
how much the ocean needs
to finally be satisfied.

In the distance
a ship can be seen.
Fighting to keep afloat
in these stormy waters.
That remind me of days that have been.

I worry not though,
for I know that ship’s crew.
Consisting of only the best and the finest
the most rugged and though.
As on the sea there is no room
for tenderness or love.

The rain now hits me in the face,
as the wind blows so very hard
it appears to travel horizontally.

I sigh and turn around
heading home.
Leaving the sea behind me,
moving on.
Safe but alone.

Smile

Smile,
that's all I ask of you.
Smile
don't ask, just do.

It's not that complicated,
it's quite easy actually.
One can grin,
one can laugh,
one can literally wet his pants.
But I just ask you to smile
as we talk and sing and dance.

Smile,
my friend.
Smile,
if only for me.

As a smile can heal.
As a smile can mend.
As a smile can start.
As a smile can end.

Smile,
I ask you.
Smile,
and I'll smile too.

Waving: Friends Meet

One especially lonely day, I connected to this thing on the net
Stumbled into this odd place and took a look around
Lots of authors, poets, and wroets... Oh my
Feeling like a lion in the jungle, I roamed around
Among the weeds, this treasure I found
Two people, silly as can be
OMG, they sound just like me!
I wave, they wave
We bunch of waving fools
Day after day, we do the dew?
Soon we find we has lots in common

She was new this girl,
who came in that day.
In the channel with me and Sith.
At first, not much was said,
a wave, a hey,
simple stuff like that.
But as time moved on,
so did our conversations,
And I started to like this girl.
In a friendly kind of way.

*Ana_Maria has joined #legendsandlore.
I saw this new girl,
come in today.
I finished talking to MM,
and gave her a wave.
She said hi, and we said hello.
She stayed for a while,
and she was on again today.
I thought, “I like her...”
That is, in a friendly kinda way.

So I joined this odd room
filled with people who write galore
when over in the corner, I spied these two names
waving at me
One called Sith and the other MisterMafio
though I swear he looks like an MM to me
they waved and I waved
and we got to talking a little
as time went by
we started talking more
getting to know each other
almost, liking one another
in that friend sort of way.

Shake Hands: Meeting & Greeting

Time passed since we got to know eachother,
Ana, Sith and me.
And we had grown
to treat eachother rather friendly.
The time of waving was long since gone,
as we were now were shaking hands
and talking one on one.

Friends we became
talking a lot more
sharing poetry
prose and other written materials
and discussing it too
like any good writing friends would do
teh CC&C we left for one another
helped each other improve
we took care of one another
like this, this friend sort of way

So Ana came back, day after day,
and we all kept saying hi.
Only now we were shaking hands,
and being sad at all of of the goodbyes.
So we kept on shaking hands, discussing
this and that. But mainly poetry,
Which we were all good at.
Friends, we became,
talking a lot more.
And then, then our friendship really began to soar.

Huggle Snuggle: In Friendly Sort of Way

*Ana_Maria has joined #legendsandlore.
MM and I, we saw that she joined,
so we hugged and we snugged,
really overjoyed.
“Yes! She's back!” is what we did say,
because we were best friends,
and then she shouted, “Yay!”
We were all there,
as we finished our snug,
talking 'bout poetry,
and throwing round hugs.

oh the hugs and snugs!
the huggles and the snuggles
they do abound
with sith and MM around
inspiring me left and right
i try to inspire them, but oh the fright
least they dont mind a random lady poet like me
snugging and snugging with glee
hugging on them as friends we be
all right here in the #legendsandlore room on the IRC!

Things moved fast
these past few months.
Between us three friends.
And by now,
I fail to see
how our friendship possibly ends.
We went from waving,
to shaking hands,
and ended up with snugging.
I tell you,
Sith and Ana Marie.
We are quite a group,
us three,
all here on Caelestia's IRC.

This collaborative trilogy was brought to you by:
Ana_Maria [ comments thread],
~Shade~ (AKA Sith) [ comments thread] and
Mistermafio [ comments thread].
We hope you've enjoyed it, any comments can be left in either of the comments threads.

My job

I did my job today.
I didn't like it,
but I had to.

God, I feel awful about it.

I did my job today,
I did what I was supposed to do.
And it made me sick of myself,

it made me sick of others too.

I did my job today,
a job I love,
with all my soul.

But only if I don't have to do it.

I did my job today.

It was terrible.

The old writer

He spent his life in solitude,
sitting alone in his house.
Writing about things he'd never done,
describing feelings he had never felt.

And being happy about it.

People would tell him;
“why don't you go outside?
It'd do you good.”
But he'd just smile and shrug it off,
as he wasn't in the mood.

He spent his life without any real friends,
without any real meaning.
Only writing,
barely being.

But did he mind?
This old writer?
Did he really care?
Did he ever curse his life
for not being fair?

No, he didn't,
he had all the fun he ever had.
Just there,
by himself,
in his very own head.
