=ED= Balance Discussion Thread


All balance discussions will be restricted to this thread. This is to condense the many issues that you have all expressed into a single place that the balance people can work on.

Please keep all balance discussions in this thread, and don't forget to follow the forum's rules.

Some things that the balancers would like you to avoid discussing. Please do not post about the following things.

Problems:

1. Str BMs
2. Tank CHs
3. Boosters

What do we propose to solve these?

1) Buff other types of BMs (remove some requirements)and have a slight nerf on str ones like increased cost, revise DA, etc.
2) Buff static, get rid of emp, replace plasma armor with technician.
3) Remove them or require that you must be 5 levels (20 less stats after weps) lower in terms of stat points to use them.

Mecha you made a typo, you have Balance Discussion XI on the previous list instead of IX. Fixed. ~Mecha

Dude, they should also balance TLM's skills. They tought TLM's are so OP and they nerfed it so badly that it became the worst class. x.x

Give TLM back technician and Maul
For the CH problem, what Mr. Black op said would work
For str BM's, make it a high dex requirement for fireball, and a higher tech requirement for bludgeon then a dex requirement for DA
That way they need points everywhere

Yea they should prolly bring back TLM's old skill, technician + smoke/smoke + maul/or even just smoke/or even replace smoke with malfunction. xD =)

A suggestion I would like to make would basically make all strength builds manageable.
You can use the same principle of speed the faster one goes the wider the turn becomes,
and your margin for error reduces drastically. You can achieve this in strength builds across
the board by using a scale: you can determine the number, but I will illustrate what I mean.

If a character has a 21-26 build his accuracy is decreased by -2% and doubling every point after
22-27 -4%
23-28 -8%
you see where I am going with this as a person get stronger his accuracy is less, the only things we currently have is diminsh return for stats,
or try to have a higher support to go first and in my opinion is broken, since I rarely go first when fighting
a BM and I have 62 in my support and I am constantly going second to BM the same level and they have had
30 points less. When fighting them at 25-30 or 26-32 with a +35 weapon that is 60 plus damage they can inflict,
and if you factor in a person defense then they are down to 25-30 and for some that hurts and you have to play
on your heels and hope for a few blocks. The same priciple can be applied to rage gain by strength builds, if you go
with a tank build they get to rage you because you been playing from a defensive stand point, plus because of their
often low defense you dont gain as much. By every point above 20 you gain less rage, plus I think rage should work
in reverse most things do not like to be struck, like the hulk the madder he gets the stronger he get and why usually because
he has been struck by someone or something. Just my two cents what does everyone thinks. Have a great day wherever you are.

How about a tech req for fireball, lv1 = 15, max = 45 and also a dex req for deadly aim, lv1 = 18, max = 48
Also a buff to adrenaline for mercs (oh and stop complaining about TLM being most up, mercs are worse)...
Adrenaline: The adrenaline of the mercenary gives him energy back every turn
Lv1 = 1 energy per turn, Lv5 = 5 energy, Lv7 = 5 energy AND a passive boost of 6 str, Max = 5 Energy AND a passive boost of 15 str

You can't put a dex req on DA without affecting TM.

A couple of points here. Since STR BM ia highly dependant on Fireball and DA, then the new requirents you suggested would be mind boggling OP


A tech requirent on Fireball allows for greater res and def rates.
A dex requirement on DA allows for greater DEF and block rate.

So a STR BM that had intially 25-30+35 damage with small defenses can now have 23-28+35 danage with higher def. Ultimately allowing for a super tank build that has DA for increased damage and Bloodlust for HP restoration.

The requirement of Support os fine on DA, maybe make it a bit higher. Fireball needs a stat requirement though as mamy players have suggested

Why not make a stat limit so people can't abuse stats. The limit would be like 100 or 110

The developers. Moderators are are non-developer staff who maintain the fairplay and behaviour in EpicDuel. Lowering the stat requirement on Shadow Arts may not be so bad. However, Bounty Hunters will have a greater potential to have Strength. Coupled with Bloodlust, I would first form a balance suggestion to balance the stats (or weapons).

^ In my own opinion even if str builds increase in bh, this might open an opportunity for some bh to be creative in terms of build.

Yeah, I would say lowering the support requirement for SA would be bad. Strength BHs can already get away with hilariously low support. No need to compound that issue.

That would be an issue if DA wasn't changed since it also has a support requirement. I suggested to have 42 support requirement on fireball when maxed and to replace DA with assimilation but it got ignored .

Here is some problems I encountered that just may be stupid. I haven't played in a long time ,but I play now
1. During a battle between me (level 32 CH) and a level 35 full varium BH or BM They go first and they block most of my moves. I usally have higher Dex and a decent level of SA and I'm always blocked of delfected.
2. BM is super overpowered. I get three hitted
I emp
Malf
Aux
Heal
Gun
Strike or robot (depends on their defense)
Then use boosters
and then they either 49 crit me or They block my final attack or deflect it
3. TLMs and Mercs needs a buff
I was a TLM I tried literally every build I thought of and it wasn't working

Requirements kill creativity, yet you guys/gals still want requirements? Skills should only require certain weapons not the amount of stats. I honestly think stats play too much of a role in
battle, for example blood mage, spam strength untill they have around 110+ then they just have to max BL fireball and atleast lvl 4 bludgeon to win quick and easy battles. Stats should be a bonus in battle.
Not decide the outcome before the battle even begins.
