Welcome to my gallery!



Since it's the second anniversary of me being sober from AQW — and also the birthday of my character —, I've decided to re-open a gallery on the forums in the more general category instead. With all the resentment gone, I feel like the legend of Lukrecia's escapades can continue to live on; a fresh start if you will.

Like in the previous gallery of mine, I'm going to continue with the tradition of embedded images working with the restrictions of the forums (500x500/800x600 header - 100kb) instead of contributing to the ever-growing link rot, although I may include external-links to higher definition exports if I see it's too much to the detriment of image quality. I have no particular style or format in mind yet, so we will see how it all goes as it unfolds.
Hopefully this can serve as a fun little experiment. Enjoy!

The Castle



The Castle of the Lady Lukrecia stands south of Granemor at the very edge of Darkovia. The air here is dense with the vile scent of blood, so much so it feels almost like a fog. If you get close enough at nighttime you can even see the setting Moon, painted red by all the blood, while if you turn around you can see the spectral one clear and bright white on the other side of the horizon. Quite poetic if you think about it.

Oops, I've been neglecting this page, it seems. In any case, here's a bit of a landscape painting. Thought I'd introduce the setting a little first.

Excuse the Lilim



The Lady Lukrecia is attended to by a troupe of low-level lilim maids. They can get pretty handsie with guests, but they're just curious. Also don't let the cooing and cawing sounds fool you, they understand you; they just like to… ignore what you say.

When I was still playing AQW I used to have these Maid Lilims and Shadowsleigher House Guards around, I like their designs. I like to think they're a bit animistic in their behavior, not entirely human-like.

The Vampire Queen



The Lady Lukrecia has a lot of memorabilia of the vampire queen. A lot. She is quite obsessive about her, in fact. You know, I'd even call that an understatement. Paintings of her on the castle walls, statues of her in the garden, books, plushies, a... cardboard cutout. It makes sense given she was the reason behind who she became, but there is a point where one has to step back and admit they have a problem...

The forums are about to close down in a few months, so I'm trying to knock out a few more entries here while I can. This was sitting around in my drawer for years now, so I decided to make a full painting out of it.

What can I say, Safiria was my childhood crush way, way back during the AdventureQuest days. She (well, the person behind her) even helped me recover my account, that did not help the matters either. Lukrecia was always a bit of a parody of that parasocial childhood obsession.

Blood Feud - Special Socks



Since the forums will be shutting down soon, I've decided to re-upload the old (failed) 4koma project I once kept in the AQW forum galleries. The point of this was to be a quick and cheap doodle comic I'd post after every weekly release.

This one specifically is talking about a community poll for a Valentine's Day event which would later become Arcadia, asking for nominations of one male, one female, and one other gendered character. While the offers were extremely limited, Lukrecia has an… unique choice for a hypothetical free-for-all. Suffice to say, Juvania never struck me as particularly feminine in the traditional sense.

Blood Feud - Tie Breaker



A crude joke? From me?! Say it ain't so!

Indeed, eventually the results of the Arcadia event came in and in a crazy close finish, Safiria beat out Death in the "other" category 572:571. Why is the Vampire Queen Safiria in the "other"? Is she because she's technically dead? Is she non-binary and we just never knew? (Is the second "i" silent?) Nobody knows.

Blood Feud - Hero's Heartless Day



You may be wondering who the other winners were in that poll. Gravelyn and Sepulchure. I honestly wish I was joking. Nonetheless, with a full roster of dark and evil themed characters selected for Hero's Heart Day of all events, I thought it could be a pretty unique opportunity to have a very unique kind of host. Someone who is pink. Someone who is fluffy. Someone who is evil. Someone… like Sally.

They did not have Sally as the event host that weekend.

Blood Feud - June-gath



After the utter disappointment that was the Arcadia event, I took a break from the game and thus the comic as well. My sanity was deteriorating badly by that point. I'll be honest dear reader, I do not remember the punchline of this one clearly. If I had to make a guess it was a "Christmas in July" type of gag, just with Nulgath's birthday in June. Maybe. In any case, it's here for posterity's sake.

Blood Feud - Cardinal Sin



Sending off Pride month with Lukrecia being Lukrecia. A personal favorite of mine as I feel like that pose of Safiria's punch turned out quite dynamic for what it was. Why I picked that flag specifically I don't remember, actually. Perhaps it was something lore-related that I have since forgotten, or maybe that's just what was in her highness' Twitter bio.

Blood Feud - Rares



The last one of the Blood Feud comics before I'd finally just let it go, eventually decided to have it removed from the AQW gallery section altogether. It was late 2022, and by that point I hardly wanted to do anything with AQW anymore, letalone leave a legacy behind about it for all to see.

Anyway, Darkon's Saga… had quite the love-hate relationship with it. Good story fit for an anime or a doujinshi, but absolutely not the vibe I want from AQW. There was one aspect that I had to credit Darkon for: actual furniture house items were practically non-existent up until that point. The red-gold accent was extra nice as it fit Lukrecia's castle very well. Darkon ended up almost single-handedly furnishing the entire bedroom. Now that's what I call rare.

We will be back to our (ir)regularly scheduled paintings shortly.
