I didn't make this, I didn't help. My mom's friend found it and sent it to me.

Currently, they're taking applications for the betas of all their programs.
As of right now, everything is free. And hopefully, it'll remain that way.

Let's just hope Eagle88 won't get too jealous of our owning an Eagle program ;)

Looks pretty cool. :D

Eagle:
A smart online application that can identify complex data about an image based on the pixel patterns (i.e. which specific camera an image originally came from)

Hehe. He'll be fine with it. :P

And nice share, too ^_^

eagle88 -> RE: Aviary [beta] Freeware (2/20/2008 4:16:53)

I never knew I had a pixel pattern.....interesting :P

That site is indeed, very interesting. I'll definitely have to check it out!

Saerokeon -> RE: Aviary [beta] Freeware (2/20/2008 7:44:15)

Pretty cool. I just might download it.

Gers1 -> RE: Aviary [beta] Freeware (2/20/2008 11:51:38)

I've signed up. I wonder what the programs will be like.

Pretty cool. I just might download it.

That's where it's nice. There is NO download, as of yet.
It's all Flash based so that everything can interact with each other.
:)

They mentioned making a desktop version for when offline, but most of it will be online. And since it's Flash, collaboration is quite easy :)

I also signed up, hopefully, this will become as big as PS and GIMP on here :3
The marble statue to chocolate statue was a nice deal. Something easily done in Photoshop as well :3
Which means it's JUST as good in the right hands :o

Cool Dragonz -> RE: Aviary [beta] Freeware (2/20/2008 12:48:05)

What is an invitation code?

Gers1 -> RE: Aviary [beta] Freeware (2/20/2008 13:00:11)

I'm just waiting for mine. How long do the codes take to come?

nolraitru -> RE: Aviary [beta] Freeware (2/20/2008 13:33:56)

Everytime they add a new program or feature, it seems, they send out codes.

That's atleast what I got from reading through their blogs.

Cool Dragonz -> RE: Aviary [beta] Freeware (2/20/2008 13:47:19)

Man.. Those vids are awesome! But the speed has been set too high. It's really an ZOMG programm! I want to start with it ASAP :)

Krieg -> RE: Aviary [beta] Freeware (2/20/2008 17:25:07)

Hmmm... Looks really interesting. I'll have to sign up.

Hopefully they'll keep their tools free, though I wouldn't mind subscription for unlocked features (it's good to support small businesses). By the dates on their blog, they're going at this pretty quickly.

We have to remember though that while the examples look really good, these guys are not amateurs and there are no short cuts to quality art. Just a warning to those looking at this site who are new to the art community.

Saerokeon -> RE: Aviary [beta] Freeware (2/20/2008 17:28:27)

Really? Wow. I'll be adding this to the LPP thread, if you don't mind.

Gers1 -> RE: Aviary [beta] Freeware (2/21/2008 11:13:22)

Is their an easy way to unlock other programs? Because I really wanna use Hummingbird.

dominic_r_monroe -> RE: Aviary [beta] Freeware (2/21/2008 12:29:33)

Nice. I am looking forward to it :-). But I have waited 2 daiis and have had no Code :-(. This is better than gimp and will be the next PS I am sure

_Depression -> RE: Aviary [beta] Freeware (2/21/2008 17:07:30)

Mo -> RE: Aviary [beta] Freeware (2/21/2008 18:19:14)

This seems awesome but it seems that it will be very hard to master this tool

Grafh -> RE: Aviary [beta] Freeware (2/21/2008 19:36:32)

I'm with iChar, this could be the next big program out there. I'm signed up, hopefully I'll find so time to play with it.

Krieg -> RE: Aviary [beta] Freeware (2/21/2008 20:04:10)

I haven't thoroughly explored it yet, but here's my first impression: the layout is very user friendly and is very intuitive for those who have used Photoshop or GIMP. Load times are reasonably fast. The program itself is still very limited, but it has a lot of potential. Since they aren't aiming to compete with "desktop software", I guess a lack of a few features is fine. I find Pheonix (the Image Editor) to be suitable and convenient which may make Aviary, as aforementioned by others, a very possible popular complementary suite. :)

The primary objective of Aviary seems to be to make calloborative projects more convenient. So, a group should try out their system.

Grafh -> RE: Aviary [beta] Freeware (2/21/2008 20:17:54)

Just received my beta for Phoenix (image editor), and I received 5 invites to send to people.

Willing to trade one to anyone that can give me a Raven (Vector editor) , Pigeon (Painting simulator), and/or Tern (Terrain generator).

_Depression -> RE: Aviary [beta] Freeware (2/21/2008 20:19:58)

Grafh, I don't think they have betas of the other things... pretty sure it was only for Phoenix. And I want one. xD

BreeMote -> RE: Aviary [beta] Freeware (2/21/2008 20:22:37)

No, you got to choose which subject interested you most.

And I signed up last night and no email yet :/

EDIT: I lied. I checked an hour or two ago and no email. But now I have it xD

Grafh -> RE: Aviary [beta] Freeware (2/21/2008 20:24:10)

Vector might be the only other one that I listed that has a beta, so if someone has that, I'll trade them an invite.

_Depression -> RE: Aviary [beta] Freeware (2/21/2008 20:26:17)

I only put myself on the list 3 hours ago... *sob*
