choices, choices, choices
I so love the frostvale estate an there is no higher version to buy. I am so tempted to resell frostval an buy it back just for the extra 10,000 tokens interest - to beef up my guards.
ok sold frostval an went one level higher - used the token interest to buy a mega portal an world painting
all of the higher level estates deserve a side quest such as frosvale has!!
the beach one could be cleaning up drift-wood or monster squatters
the darkovia one could be cleaning up tombstones or monster squatters also trick or treating could be involved as well!!

Captain Rhubarb - please consider a higher version of frostval equal to-if not higher than the darkovia estate??

MUSEUM UPDATE:
---------------------

The features for the Museum won't be ready until probably November.
I'm really sorry for all the delays!
I have a huge high priority web site project to complete first, and then I will attempt to focus my attention on the House Estate stuff.

In order to reward the loyal players that have suffered these long delays:

When the _______ function of the Museum is finally released, everyone that has owned a Museum will receive a ______ item for every day that they have owned the Museum.
Even if you bought one and sold it already, you will receive a ______ item for each day that you did own it.

Museum update
The special Museum features are not enabled yet, but you can start upgrading the building now for when the features are active.

Higher level museums will offer more interesting "features", such as:
- Displaying all your paintings on screen at once in a virtual art gallery.
- Owning a museum will add the ability for your character to find random "artifact" drops from monsters.
- Use artifacts and other [TOP SECRET] knowledge and items to [TOP SECRET] your inventory weapons.

I'm guessing said item is one of these "artifacts."

Captain Rhubarb -> RE: =AQ= Houses With Estates - Discussion (9/28/2009 20:17:41)

JMill,

Good guess. [sm=fun_08.gif]

OnuaNuva -> RE: =AQ= Houses With Estates - Discussion (9/28/2009 22:37:57)

I'd like to point everyone back to page 3 ( http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=15184746&mpage=3&key= )

where an extensive talk was had on the museum back in March.

I'd be willing to bet that the bonus items from the Captain will be credits to be used for things including item upgrades.

Conspiracy -> RE: =AQ= Houses With Estates - Discussion (9/29/2009 0:20:48)

I wonder if we could bring back the items you've sold.

I've sold quite a few rares in the past since they were taking up room (no extra slots back then), and I've sold a few other rares because I wasn't high level enough to buy the most powerful one.

Captain Rhubarb -> RE: =AQ= Houses With Estates - Discussion (9/29/2009 2:43:06)

We don't keep track of sold gold items. That would indeed be too much information to hold on to.

We do keep detailed records of z-token items.

And I can confirm that Museum owners will not automatically be getting a pile of free z-tokens.

Qoy? -> RE: =AQ= Houses With Estates - Discussion (9/29/2009 4:16:02)

I know it might be a stupid question, but does it count wether you just "own" the museum, or does it have to be built?
No idea if you keep track of buildings being built ;i

Alamo -> RE: =AQ= Houses With Estates - Discussion (9/29/2009 4:37:04)

@Qoy?: This is what Captain Rhubarb said a few pages back:

quote:

He mentioned "own" the museum. So I believe that it does not have to be built.

Qoy? -> RE: =AQ= Houses With Estates - Discussion (9/29/2009 4:39:34)

Yeh.. I know ;) I read it, but i was still not all sure, but it must be that way ^^

I've owned the museum for a long time.. I just didn't build it :D

Alamo -> RE: =AQ= Houses With Estates - Discussion (9/29/2009 5:04:40)

Me too. I owned the Museum for many months but never built it ,because back then, it consumed too many resources and I did not purchase any guards. I had to rely on removing the invaders every day. Not long ago I build it and upgraded it, and finally it is level 10. I think it was last week I upgraded it to the last level. I still have to upgrade both of my Storage Buildings to level 15, to prepare for the next war or for the war after the next war. They both are currently level 12. It takes forever! It would be nice if the upgrade times for the Storage Buildings were decreased.

I'm okay with the long upgrade time. To balance the time it takes the Captain made the low gold cost.
If we could upgrade them faster they would cost more gold.

Mine will be level 13 in about 36 hours.[:D] Just in time for a war this weekend.....?

Alamo -> RE: =AQ= Houses With Estates - Discussion (9/29/2009 6:28:50)

I wouldn't mind having the Storage Building upgrade costs to increase in order to have a lower upgrade time, as long as the cost is not as hefty as the Guard Tower gold upgrade costs.

.*. .*. .*. -> RE: =AQ= Houses With Estates - Discussion (9/29/2009 16:16:16)

I am curious about the artifacts, will they only drop from monsters or are we going to be able to purchase them for z-tokens too?
I am really looking forward to this update and I soo hope to be able to upgrade/enhance or whatever the artifacts will do to more categories and not just weapons. [:)]

Ghengis -> RE: =AQ= Houses With Estates - Discussion (10/1/2009 4:27:21)

I hope the museum allows people to change their guardian armour like from guardian plate to guardian robes... **hint** **hint** **wink** **wink** **nudge** **nudge**

OnuaNuva -> RE: =AQ= Houses With Estates - Discussion (10/8/2009 23:19:28)

Oooh.... so cruel. I have 1998 tokens. Just need 2 more for my new Storage Building... UGH!!

On a happier note, my museum is now at level 10 and awaiting two things:

#1: An attack
#2: An update

I'm hoping that one of the above happens within the next 24 hours.

Also, as a friendly reminder:

If the candy golems are available once again during Mogloween, they are the most token-efficient guards you can get (100 for the high level and 25 for the low level) so grab 'em!

infuturity -> RE: =AQ= Houses With Estates - Discussion (10/9/2009 7:14:05)

I know this is such a small issue, but does it seem a little ridiculous to anyone else that the Storage Building takes EIGHT DAYS to upgrade from level 8 to level 9?

SIGMUND -> RE: =AQ= Houses With Estates - Discussion (10/9/2009 7:38:33)

Try level 13-14. That takes 16 days.

When it comes to the underground plots that the Captain is planning I am expecting upgrade times to be measured in weeks rather than hours.
Just imagine how long it will take to dig out all that rock.[:D]

A brilliant way to speed it up would be some way to use magic?
Maybe we could expend 1000 MP to reduce the update times by about an hour?
Actually I guess that would be too easy.

Or

Maybe we could have it as some kind of Quest within our house?
We could use our guards? and guard hut to help the excavation by "attacking" the ground?
Each "kill" would reduce the excavation time. [:D]

Although I expect the coding for either would be horrendous? If it is even possible to connect those things together.

OnuaNuva -> RE: =AQ= Houses With Estates - Discussion (10/9/2009 8:26:41)

POWER=LEVEL^1.5 / 5 rounded off

So yes, VERY low level guards are nearly useless, but power breaks even at 25 and goes well in excess above that level.

http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=11622356

Candy golems:

Low level: 25 tokens, level 15, power: 11

High level: 100 tokens, level 45, power: 60

I will once again quote hagen's guide:
http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tm.asp?m=14534541

Note that the number on the far right is the amount of power you get per 1000 tokens.

The Candy golems (even the very weak level 15 one) are the best value, which is why I am hoping for 'Seasonal' rare status.

Crimzon5 -> RE: =AQ= Houses With Estates - Discussion (10/9/2009 8:50:38)

Heh, if only we could suspend the time by hiring more workers (which would reduce our gold)

Whats the point? So only mages get to do it, your also not loosing anything as MP is easily healed. (as you said to easy)

SIGMUND -> RE: =AQ= Houses With Estates - Discussion (10/9/2009 11:32:09)

It could be a spell that costs 10000 Z-Tokens? Which would encourage people to buy tokens. Or it could be Skill that costs 10000 Z-Tokens and uses SP for non-mages.
(Although I do not believe anyone who says they cannot use magic. Even the stupidest Warrior uses some magic). [;)]

However I prefer my other idea about using the guards to "attack" the ground which gives them something else to do. After all the guards become a little redundant when you progress to owning a Mega World Portal.[:D]

I fail to see how a hybrid couldn't use a 1000 mp spell.

Travis Touchdown -> RE: =AQ= Houses With Estates - Discussion (10/10/2009 6:29:45)

OnuaNuva: I hate to shatter your hopes, but as I recall, the Candy Golems didn't return last year, which would make me think they won't this year, either.

SIGMUND: A spell would be tricky to implement and balance. Like you said, if it costs MP, it's easy to just farm that (you can full heal in your house).

I like Crimz's idea, though. Theoretically, you SHOULD be able to hire more workers to get the job done faster (to a degree: for balance and for real life purposes, you shouldn't be able to hire like 1000 more workers and have it done in the next 5 minutes--eventually you'd be just wasting your money as the workers wouldn't have much to do), but we would have to pay dearly to get them. As we've seen with the upper levels of the Storage Buildings, a lower gold cost can be balanced with a high wait time, which should mean that an optional way to pay highly and have a lower wait time would be balanced. The question is, of course, how much would we have to pay per extra worker, how much faster the completion would be, and how many times we can increase the rate of completion per upgrade.

FiendBane -> RE: =AQ= Houses With Estates - Discussion (10/10/2009 6:43:26)

Using MP to speed up building upgrade doesn't make sense as this "cost" is free? Twilly can help you refill the mana in a few seconds?

What can be done is the buildings will could offer alternative upgrade durations, for example:
1) 25,000 gold, <resources> for a 100 hour upgrade duration OR
2)100,000 gold, <more resources> for a 20 hour upgrade duration, for those in a hurry of course.
