It seems like k=L

Vinger -> RE: =WF= A Final Mystery (7/1/2009 16:23:16)

@redman
Doubt.According to letter frequency,4 of a vowel is too few.If it is a vowel,it should be the less used vowel.7 isn't too much too.Z and W are much more close to vowels.If it is a letter substituition,it should be a polyalphabetic one.

forcemaster101 -> RE: =WF= A Final Mystery (7/1/2009 16:23:22)

Vinger you may be on to something with the hand puzzle I'll try taking the inverse of the letters and see what i come up with.

Aaronrules380 -> RE: =WF= A Final Mystery (7/1/2009 16:23:51)

I doubt it's simple substitution of any kind. UNless you know of a few words that can start with adouble letter and have 3 or 4 letters

forcemaster101 -> RE: =WF= A Final Mystery (7/1/2009 16:28:34)

i dont think it is either it has way to many t's so im compleatly lost once again

kors -> RE: =WF= A Final Mystery (7/1/2009 16:34:44)

one of the first known to man? hm... sounds like a anceint puzzle so any one know an old puzzle style?

Vinger -> RE: =WF= A Final Mystery (7/1/2009 16:49:31)

Just finished.Space between letters and | means there is a SPACE.Duh
Each letter was nominated according to the type of the type of doing the number.

3a 3b 3a|3a 3a 3b|3c 3d
3a 3a 3d 4a 3d 3a
3d 3e 3a 0a 3a|5a 3d 3b 3a 1a
3d 4a 3a 3a |3a 1a 4a 3d 3d 1a
3d 3a 4a 3d| 3d 2a 3c 3d 3c 5a 3c 5a 3d 3b| 3a 3d 3a 3c 3a 3c
3d 4a 3a 3a
3c 3a|3d 4a 3a 3b 3a 0a|3a 3d 3b 0a 3d 2a 3a|4a 3c 3 b

Frequency:
0a: 3
1a: 3
2a: 2
3a: 24
3b: 6
3c: 8
3d: 18
3e: 1
4a: 7
5a: 3

For ME,what matters isn't the numbers,but the combination of letter+number.That gives us 10 something.Probably are another numbers instead of letters.Or it can be letters with polyalphabetic substitution or in a complex cipher.And a note of me: It looks like hands,but maybe aren't.Normal HUMAN fingers are divided into 3 parts.Some of the hands have 2,1 or 0 divisions.Also,there are blank spaces in the finger part in some of the hands.

Lord Asrius -> RE: =WF= A Final Mystery (7/1/2009 16:51:15)

Might be hex. Although it seems unlikely, given the non-variety.

Verlyrus -> RE: =WF= A Final Mystery (7/1/2009 16:55:07)

Vinger.. we found that out already...
it's just that we assumed they were the numbers in sign language that they represent.

Hehe Fal, "Precedes". :D

Plushie -> RE: =WF= A Final Mystery (7/1/2009 17:24:13)

Hmm Is it precedes as in "the las puzzle we are sill doing" or "the last puzzle we did that used the certain cipher"

Lord Asrius -> RE: =WF= A Final Mystery (7/1/2009 17:25:06)

That's what we want to know.

Plushie -> RE: =WF= A Final Mystery (7/1/2009 17:41:12)

Does any one have the answers of all the puzzles we have done so far, maybe they could help us, or maybe know how they were done since the number 1 thread is gone?

EDIT:Oh Sorry forgot about that

Strange little dude -> RE: =WF= A Final Mystery (7/1/2009 17:43:13)

^The fisrt thread isn't gone
you just have to change fromthe top of the page where it says show threads from last 14 days to say show all

TreadLight -> RE: =WF= A Final Mystery (7/1/2009 17:44:42)

Here's an archive created based on the past solved mysteries, Devourer's Shadow:

Falerin -> RE: =WF= A Final Mystery (7/1/2009 17:46:54)

Overintellectualizing leads to migraines and cluster headaches. Precedes has a simple English meaning. It is that meaning which was inferred. As to what man I meant.... I meant Human no thats not right Eweman... no still not right...

Kain -> RE: =WF= A Final Mystery (7/1/2009 17:56:30)

All the hands are right ones, so it can add a double sense to it, meaning we shouldn't invert the puzzle, as the current position is "right". A hint to show that right hands are intentional is Eldron's words on the puzzle: "I can use a hand with this one". I don't think this will help much thing, but it's a step :P

poomaster -> RE: =WF= A Final Mystery (7/1/2009 18:06:41)

simplify ay? maybe i can do something!... no..no... no *dissapointed sigh* your telling me all that headache on puzzles was for nothing and the anger at others finishing first aaah oh wellno matter

eweman anybody tried looking for a yeoman cypher?

Falerin -> RE: =WF= A Final Mystery (7/1/2009 18:09:48)

Head have you met the desk?

Desk have you met my head.

HEAD DESK!

final five -> RE: =WF= A Final Mystery (7/1/2009 18:11:35)

I can't tell if these are hints of if Falerin is bored and feels like messing with us

Plushie -> RE: =WF= A Final Mystery (7/1/2009 18:12:41)

Thanks Strange little dude and TreadLight im certain one puzzle will require this

EDIT:Knowing Fal,which I dont, must mean that his intentions could not be one and could not be two so it could only be three
or maybe both one and two meaning that 3 is what he means and three means that 3 is obviously both though I dont know him
so I could not say anything that would be completely true on the matter, which would only confuse you or me or them

Confused yet?
No, oh well I meant that he means both a clue and he is messing with us.

TreadLight -> RE: =WF= A Final Mystery (7/1/2009 18:14:25)

Well, final five, the only way of finding that out is by finding any relation between what he says and what the unsolved puzzles show. If it is of any relevance, than it really could help us all out. By the way, the [Caelestia] IRC-based Cryptonaut chatroom, #mystery, is still open for anyone to join in so that we may solve this more quickly.

poomaster -> RE: =WF= A Final Mystery (7/1/2009 18:15:04)

bet its reeally simple lol

Falerin -> RE: =WF= A Final Mystery (7/1/2009 18:15:44)

Also let me reveal something about the pattern in the previous animated clue. It will matter since Lkeas' discovered the truth via a clever brute force method.

The actual method employed was not vignere but vignere could be used in the solution thus my previous advice to you. What actually was employed was a Caesar shift (that started at zero and that changed its rotation by 1, for every position (including white space and punctuation characters) in the sentence. Excepting possessives which it treated as a single word I.e to say Eldron's dog I would say Eldron'sdog (which is a play on certain real languages which show ownership in much that way). The possessive part is kind of irrelevant. The rest matters. Of course I could also ignore punctuation the next time and thus it might not affect the rotation. Or I could reset it entirely or double it on punctuation. You can never tell.

Plushie -> RE: =WF= A Final Mystery (7/1/2009 18:43:47)

Have tried doing Caesar shift on puzzle 2 backwords on this site:http://www.simonsingh.net/The_Black_Chamber/caesar.html
and got nothing
