HellsCupid -> Tactical Mercenaries not so... (8/21/2011 1:24:20)

Don't you guys think that the name "Tactical" Mercenary is a little bit to ironic?

How do you feel about this, because i feel that most of these people who use this class simply abuse it.

If it were to get a re-name, what would you call it and why?

hardcore59 -> RE: Tactical Mercenaries not so... (8/21/2011 1:28:39)

war master like it was supposed to be originally cause they're so op barely anyone can beat em (I dont usually call things OP but TLM are just silly)

Jatar The Legend -> RE: Tactical Mercenaries not so... (8/21/2011 1:30:20)

^....?
the irony is insane, IMO.

kwj3 -> RE: Tactical Mercenaries not so... (8/21/2011 1:32:19)

OP Mercernaries, Heal looping with the best multi NO NO NO

Edit: How about you know the star wars name for clones because I feel they don't have originality all the same supp builds in 2v2 and str builds in 1v1. I'd be glad to see some +5 focus builds but they just dont work like they used to be. Any build that works good is like a piranha's meal they all dig in and use it.

Clone mercernaries perhaps? And they should probably lose HA, Give them assimilation, Assimilation is more of a SKILLFUL skill rather than some OP one hit damage skill. Am I right TLM's?

HellsCupid -> RE: Tactical Mercenaries not so... (8/21/2011 1:34:56)

I would call them, "The not so Tactical Mercenaries'

theBatMan -> RE: Tactical Mercenaries not so... (8/21/2011 1:42:26)

How about not even calling them Mercenaries. They should just be called "The Best Class."

edwardvulture -> RE: Tactical Mercenaries not so... (8/21/2011 1:49:40)

It depends on how you play it. I actually use tactics in mine. Most of them just have 95 HP 45 MP and spam support. Those are the stupid ones.

RageSoul -> RE: Tactical Mercenaries not so... (8/21/2011 1:51:40)

Or they should be called " Tactical Destroyers " instead , coz , like alot of people said , they're OP'ed .

Bunshichi -> RE: Tactical Mercenaries not so... (8/21/2011 1:56:49)

I love the ones that use 45 energy a good ole atom smash dents their plans :I

Nexus... -> RE: Tactical Mercenaries not so... (8/21/2011 1:57:42)

The name is very ironic. I have a better more suiting name for them...you ready?

N00bswhohavenoideahowtoplaythisgameormakeanoriginalbuild Mercenaries.

Yeah, thats a nice name.

Flame me.

Prophet

HellsCupid -> RE: Tactical Mercenaries not so... (8/21/2011 1:59:05)

@Nexus

Love the name.

Bunshichi -> RE: Tactical Mercenaries not so... (8/21/2011 2:01:30)

is this just meant to insult tlm's....

Shadronica -> RE: Tactical Mercenaries not so... (8/21/2011 2:10:18)

I think they should be called Frankenstein's Curse because they are the product of cannibalising all the good skills of the three founder classes. The skills allow a player to play on an easy class. Much like the original Bounty Hunter but even worse.

edwardvulture -> RE: Tactical Mercenaries not so... (8/21/2011 2:10:40)

Yeah you should only insult the delta TLMs.

kwj3 -> RE: Tactical Mercenaries not so... (8/21/2011 2:10:43)

It's not to insult. It's to actually show what kind of Class TLM is OP,Uncreative if they use the same build over and over again, Just stands purely on auxes and multi's to win

Lord Nub -> RE: Tactical Mercenaries not so... (8/21/2011 2:24:08)

Hmmm how is flamming TaM's gonna solve anything?

Is it more skillful to use a garbage class the devs introduced and take more losses?

Do you peeps not have the same options of a class change?

Personally I hate the class as well, as reroute is too much for this skill tree BUT as long as it's top of the food chain imma use it. Others feel the same way and to flame peeps based on what class they choose will get noone anywhere.

Would be great of we were unable to view each others skill trees. For one that would add more strategy to gameplay and would have a little more skill involved as you would have to know the ins and outs of all the weps and possible skills they may have.

Also peeps couldn't copy each others builds so easily. I remember back in beta when Azrael and Cupids Bane was first introduced. I immediately made a heal loop build and not ONCE did I encounter another for the longest time and maintained 100% ratio in 1v1 as well. Then BOOM everyone had some horrible copy. Not saying I made it up but that's how it went down for me anyway.

Hopefully before more strategic gameplay is introduced they consider doing something about viewable stats and skill trees. We definitely need to bring some more skillful ideas to the table.

At this point the game is getting more and more redundant with all the peeps riding the bandwagon and same moves over and over.

Bring us tournys, non-viewable skills, and do something about TaM's reroute.

EDIT: @Below,

Not every has the option of switching classes as you have said, while some of us do, we still choose not abuse the class.

Hmmm a credit and varium option to change classes....

Yep everyone has option :)

As far as the abuse deal goes, how exactly do you abuse a games feature? You talkin band-wagoning or using the best class the devs put out there and by using something else, risking a loss?

I can understand if there was a glitch and peeps were abusing it then that poses a problem. There's way too many threads on TaM's and I'm surprised this ones allowed.

Sounds like you may be upset about losing and your looking for something to place the blame on. If you choose not to go TaM then your entirely entitled to that choice. Keep in mind everyone has their own goals and own definitions of fun when it comes to this game.

HellsCupid -> RE: Tactical Mercenaries not so... (8/21/2011 2:31:43)

@Lord Nub

Not every has the option of switching classes as you have said, while some of us do, we still choose not abuse the class.

I am just asking an opinion of what other people "feel" about this class, which I feel (as long as others) is abused.

And perhaps build copying could be solved by dis-allowing people to view stats and skill trees.

kwj3 -> RE: Tactical Mercenaries not so... (8/21/2011 3:03:35)

Switching classes isn't a need, it's an option. Not everyone has 50k credits or some varium just to change class

FrostWolv -> RE: Tactical Mercenaries not so... (8/21/2011 3:10:29)

I think it should be called as "Invincible and Invisible" Class

why Invincible? .... u know better than me

why invisible? .... Tester cant see TLM player themselves tell they are OPd (sufficient proof) ...

Still why invisible? .... Because Tester cant see them ... So they dont balance them (it has been over a month)

Space Rusty -> RE: Tactical Mercenaries not so... (8/21/2011 3:54:17)

New name: pro merc

Big meanies
Or OMFGROFL MERC
BRAINLESS,MERC :D

Silver Sky Magician -> RE: Tactical Mercenaries not so... (8/21/2011 4:02:40)

Headless Horsemen

I know there's no 'horse', but 'headless' just doesn't sound right without 'horsemen', and 'headless' is a pretty subtle way of conveying the general lack of true skill that most tactical mercs have XD

Ashari -> RE: Tactical Mercenaries not so... (8/21/2011 4:08:59)

Please don't turn this into a thread to flame Tactical Mercs or insult players that play as a TLM. Everyone has their reasons for choosing the class they play as, so please respect that. I don't want to have to lock this thread.

I do think Tactical Merc's suffer from having so many options open to them that just about any build or strategy works for them without much thought put into it. Reroute is probably the main culprit here but on top of that, it might just be that their skill tree has too much synergy.

FrostWolv -> RE: Tactical Mercenaries not so... (8/21/2011 4:19:14)

quote:

Reroute is probably the main culprit here

@Ashari

Well you got the culprit ... but this is Epic Duel you cant put the culprit behind the bars

And I think that we do know what you TESTERS can do instead of putting the culprit behind the bars!!

HellsCupid -> RE: Tactical Mercenaries not so... (8/21/2011 5:02:25)

Yes... Yes...

Why don't the Staff invite other actual "Players" to test things, other than just a few moderators?

EDluyil -> RE: Tactical Mercenaries not so... (8/21/2011 5:17:06)

Tactical mercenaries? To me TLM is the easiest class to play and requires absolutely no tactics and strategy. They should just change back to war master.
