Anti-Awe!

Guardian Tower > Nimrod > Awethur vs. Ghin! (New war)

King Awethur and the AntiGuardian Ghin have both proven to be formidable threats by themselves. But now, they may prove to be the end of the world TOGETHER...

You may skip this cutscene at any time.

«Scene: King Awethur's Tomb.»

Awethur: Ghin.
Ghin: AWETHUR.
Awethur: What brings you to my Tomb, you foul-smelling demon-fused wretch?!
Ghin: I ONLY WANT THE HEARTSTONE OF POWER, YOU OVERBLOWN SON OF A DOG.
Awethur: You do know that the Heartstone only ENHANCES the power within its bearer, so you, being weak, will really find no use for it? Hm?
Ghin: YOU WON'T LIKE IT IF I HAVE TO PUSH YOU ASIDE IN ORDER TO SEARCH THROUGH YOUR TRINKETS, ONE-MAN BLUE MAN GROUP.
Awethur: And you are welcome to try, he-who-must-speak-in-ALL CAPS-to cover up his ignorance.
  • Fight!

«They fight. Scene fades. New Scene: Battleon.»

Zephyros: «You»! Where were you going?
«You»: ? I was just about to find some random battles and--
Zephyros: Before you go off and try to level up, I thought you might want to know that your help could be useful in saving the world.
    «You»: .........
    «You»: Again?
Zephyros: Val, please tell our friend here about the current emergency.
Valencia: Ghin Surrech, the AntiGuardian, and Awethur, were both seen in the vicinity of the Tomb of Awe.
Valencia: Not long thereafter, hordes of demonkind and the same undead types whom Awethur used against us began to gather not far from nearby villages.
Valencia: Then those groups began to fight each other. If their fighting reaches the villages they would simply be overwhelmed. Deaths could number in the --
«You»: What!? Awethur? AND the AntiGuardian?! Back?
Zephyros: Did you get the part about hoards of monsters that need to be stopped, too?
    «You»: Oh yeah. Let's FIGHT!

Most of the enemy horde has been defeated. Now comes the hard part: You must face both the AntiGuardian AND Awethur, possibly one-on-one, or possibly together! To the Tomb of Awe you go...

«Scene: Tomb of Awe. The AntiGuardian and King Awethur enter. The Scene shifts to an upper window, where you watch the scene.»

    Awethur: Ghin.
    Ghin: AWETHUR.
Awethur: What brings you to my Tomb, you foul-smelling demon-fused wretch?!

«Scene shifts to the main part of the Tomb, where Ghin and Awethur are.»

One of Awethur's Blades is broken, but then Ghin is pushed down, knocking a supporting pillar over with him.»

Awethur: Weary from the battle already, Ghin?

«Awethur lifts the broken piece of pillar.»

Awethur: Well let me tuck you IN!

«Awethur smashes the fallen form of Ghin and the floor falls open. Scene fades and changes to the floor below. Awethur falls in next to a pile of rocks and Ghin Surrech.»

Awethur: So much for the anti-guardian...

    «Awethur turns.»

Awethur: I'll have to clean that up later.

«Ghin rises from the pile and lifts Awethur up from behind.»

    Ghin: WE AREN'T DONE YET!

«Scene shows Ghin smash Awethur into the floor, causing them to fall into Lore. Scene then shows Lore from outer space and a cross-section of its interior. Scene zooms in to show Ghin and Awethur fighting and falling through a tunnel toward the core of Elemental Mana. New Scene: Battleon.»

Warlic: I am wholly unsatisfied with the outcome...
Kalanyr: I cannot say that I blame you. I was sure that Ghin would defeat Awethur within seconds after their conflict began.

    «Scene: Warlic's Shop.»

Warlic: What are you doing here, «You»?
«You»: Warlic! Kalanyr! Did you two have some kind of bet going about Awethur and Ghin?!
    Kalanyr: Not exactly.
«You»: Where were you two when we were all out fighting their armies of demons and undead? We really could have used your help.
Warlic: Well, Kalanyr and I pooled our talents and creature simulacra-- near perfect copies-- of Ghin and Awethur. Then we set them at each other's throats to settle a disagreement.
    «You»: O_O
Kalanyr: Warlic thought that Awethur would wear Ghin down over an extended battle, and I thought Ghin would take Awethur apart very quickly.
Kalanyr: We were both quite wrong.
«You»: You can say that again!! I can't believe that you would do something like that! Their hoards could have destroyed a dozen villages!
Warlic: The hordes were an unforeseen side effect. The creatures gathered based on an instinct magically forced into them by their first encounters with Ghin and Awethur.
Warlic: As soon as that happened, Kalanyr and I erected mana barriers to keep the hordes out of the villages.
«You»: I distinctly remember a few of them in Battleon...
Kalanyr: Well, to be fair, there isn't really ANY army that two archmages can't repel.
Warlic: We forgot to erect the barriers around Battleon.
    Kalanyr: That, too.
«You»: That's all pretty insane, guys. Have you ever heard the maxim "with great power comes great responsibility"??
«You»: You two terrorized half of Lore!!
Kalanyr: Well, Warlic, as always it was enjoyable arguing with you. See you around.

    «Kalanyr disappears.»

    Warlic: ...........
Warlic: I suppose you are right. Not to excuse myself from culpability, but Kalanyr and I did get caught up in our imaginings.
«You»: Imaginings? You guys need to get in touch with reality.
Warlic: I understand you are a bit upset...
    «You»: UPSET?! I'm furious!
«You»: I think you and Kalanyr should apologize to everyone and--

    «Warlic disappears.»

    «You»: ......... You're lucky that I can't do that myself..........
