I wonder is the cheevo really worth that much for ppl to go over board and spend their money like crazy (I pity them (v.v) ).I bet the cheevo would rate only about 2.5k rating or sumthing

Despite what some may say about the cost of the war the point is this game would not exist if there was not full time staff to create what we play. Yep, I spent a bit today! Do I feel ripped off? No! The game is free to play, but it has been pay to win since the start, that marketing strategy has not changed. Go and play a true free to play game instead! If you can find one... Or get off your backsides and get a job, a lot of the so called "rich" people are just everyday workers who don't mind spending some money to relax!

A few people ask me in game why do I support this? Having played online MMORPG's for 20 years I'll tell you that you get what you pay for! If Titan and Nightwraith hadn't been engaged and working for Artix Entertainment where would this game be right now? The staff really worked overtime to create this feature of the game. It is now part of the code and can be replicated, the team is expanding and ED is well placed to move forward.

To the ED team including moderators, testers and Arch Knights. Congratulations on a massive release of content :) Have a happy holiday ;)

And, fyi the achievement is worth 1700 rating points!

Hey, could someone help me? I have killed the arctic guard about 5 times and the Frost Reaper about 75 times, I have gotten no bombs yet. Why?

Edit: 76th time on the Frost Reaper and I got one ;)

Mhmm why didn't the weapons on the sketch be released?? Because the new weapons released this update would only benefit those at lvl 32 and below (were at lvl 34 so we kinda expected lvl 34 weapons) [:D]

I agree with you Goony that it is fine to spend what you wish when you are a worker and have the spare cash. What I don't agree with is that this game allows children as young as 12 - 13 years of age to be exposed to a fairly high pressure performance/cash based game. Their friends get some money to buy varium and they in turn harrass parents or turn to more devious methods to keep up with their peers.

Its not a healthy situation for young children to see others spending what could be considered vast amounts of money for a virtual war in one 24 hour period alone. It is an MMORPG equivalent of a slot machine. Except the prize isn't even a hint of a monetary return (jackpot).

I wish that ED would reconsider the war or at least put some restrictions as has been stated in one of the above posts. That or rethink the classification on this game.

In my opinion the war shud be FAIRPLAY like this:From all the 3Npcs(legion and exile) should not drop bombs and shud not buy em, anyway i think its 1% its pretty hard to get em, and should better made a prize example TOKEN( WAR TOKEN) Like:Krampus Warrior should drop every battle 1 War Token ,Krampus Technician 2 War Token,and finally Fenris should drop 3 War Tokens.With these tokns should able to buy Bombs.The biggest bomb should be 100-150 War Token and the Normal bomb shud be 50-100 war Token.Then everyone could get them easily.Now really a single player paed 300$ for what?For a MMO video game ?wha?:O.So that shud make the farm better,almost all vars only get war hero cause they spend like a hack....

@Epicdueler123 The way the system works it would be better for you to spam the daylights out of Reaper as it would get you more points in the long run then close calls with the guard.

Also people waiting for the bar to reset it wont it is the counter for the entire war it will keep on counting until the war is over. the scores boards reset daily however

Against the Yeti Hulk with my other account I did 100 battles and only got 4 bomb drops so I don't blame the players that can't fork over a $1000 to be part of the war and the players that can't afford even $50 t get the largest varium package. I used to say do the free stuff but with all the hassle you go through and the hours and days wasted to get points it is poor time management and when you complain to AE or battle on support staff they tell you they have nothing to do with the sponsors basically telling you that you don't matter to them, let's just say I have over 5 pages of screen shots that is full with offers that was completed and each one is worth 216 to 259 points.

When someone writes, "they had to do it" that is bull you don't have to do nothing you don't want to do and since they did it to one player they will do it to another just to screw them over especially for an achievement that is only worth 1700 points when frost warrior is worth 2500 points and cost only battle tokens.

Thee weapons are expensive the armors are expensive but the war gets the top prize of the most expensive thing ED has to offer yes it is players choice that they want to spend that much money but the staff at ED should make the game more fair so that all players have equal opportunity to get the achievements and the high rank.

I am surprised at all you guys on here. Ed has always been this way and if you choose to play, accept the way it is. We can change (by discussion) a little here and there but the main things still will be there.

Uh...

The Yeti is four hits....

It gives 20 points with a chance to drop a bomb. Roughly 5%. So in 100 battles that take 4 hits, you will have 2000 points and 5 bombs doing 50 points. 2250 Points isn't bad for two hours of work....and keep in mind the Varium bombs crit like 40%.

Add a $5 package in. Another 2000 points, maybe even 3000 with some crits. In 2 hours and 15 minutes, you have 5k points.Yes, the fifteen minutes is buying bombs and watching the cutscene, of you click continue its just 2-3 minutes.

If you buy a $10 package, its 25 bombs, roughly 5000 points or 7000 with some crits. Meh, with a spending of $10 and two hours of farming, you have at least 7k points and most likely 9k.

That's enough to rank you very high o_o

First Off I'd like to say thanks :D for the recognition of taming the beast. He thought he was all cozy up there while awaiting your visit Santa (Who knows what your doing visiting him this early...) and outta nowhere mean ol' mister grinch aka ManThong, stole his throne and watched evilly, as per the legion way of course, as he desperately tried to regain his position.

Also may I point out that he "wasted" at a minimum 200$. Not that it matters as he will get it another day and I also will play the part of that evil grinch taking someones hope and dreams once again as well.

Apparently certain people feel it is ok to use some intimidation factors on others to get their way. He felt comfy as a known "whale" as the casino and gaming industry call them, and thought no one would try to pass him.

Did I waste my money or did anyone else for that matter? I think Goonys post summed that part up fairly well. Mokta will have his 1700 daily eventually and I will slide down someone elses chimney in my green fur and steal someone elses Christmas dreams from out under their noses as well since I have already planned to support ED with a certain amount anyway. I love this game for everything it brings to the table and even by doing things such as this, it is far less expensive than if I were to entertain myself in other ways ie. 360 games that last about 2 days.

I mean look at the entertainment I'm already getting, defensive remarks from his friends and alts. So cute :p It shows I did something, otherwise why would you bother commenting? Guess I struck a soft spot...This is a WAR son, all strategies will be used even the sneakiest of the sneaky little buggers will throw themselves in there at some point.

If you can't understand the fun/entertainment aspect and must resort to defensive name calling then you have missed the point of AE, ED, and all that gaming is and always will be.

Here's my humble opinion about this war.

This war is about nothing.
You either kill hundreds of npcs, which could bore anyone to death, or buy tonnes of varium and spam varium bombs. In the first case, it is a pointless waste of time, in the second case it is a pointless waste of money.

Do the devs realize how deadly boring it is to grind npcs in this game?

Probably, they understand this very well and suppose that everyone will get tired of this grinding and start buying bombs. But is it fun just to buy and spam varium bombs? I do pay money for good weapons, but it seems ridiculous to me to waste a lot of money just to get an achievement which will not make me any stronger.

This war could be exciting if players had to fight other players, that is if Legion players had to fight Exile players and got war points for that. But the war we have now is dull and pointless. Sorry.

My thoughts on this update:
Pros:
-New war with unlimited amounts of enemies.
-I have an actual goal now of getting the next cheevo. And making a new build to farm them.
-Return of winter weps from last year, including frost scimitar. :D

Cons:
-Even though I haven't used the credit bomb yet, I know that it will be rather a long time before I get the cheevo, so I'll bank those until I want to use them.
-No new non-varium weapons.
-War is heavily influenced by varium.
-Goals are way to high as I have heard from the posts on this page.
-I reached lvl 34 and I need a new build. (Not having to do with this update)
