Smackie El Frog -> Storyline Progression...What happened? (2/27/2012 10:45:27)

So after talking to my good friend and faction officer Lord Loss, we are a bit annoyed with how the story is progressing. Since Legion won the Frysteland War and forever changed that land shouldn't the story line be progressing with Legion still having the main control of Delta V and keep going that way?

I thought since Legion won the war the story line would be more focused on Legions story rather than the Exiles, in the heart breaker story line.

I think every war we have should dictate which side gets to progress their story line. So for example say, Exiles win the next war(I know funny right since they got pwnd in The War for Frysteland), but joking aside, the story line should be about the rebels and their increasing strength. Rather than a story about Legion gaining ground. Or for another example, what is going on currently. With the Legion guards/NPC's working for the Exile Leader and not Alydriah.

Isn't that what winning a war does? Cause in my opinion it makes your side stronger and more feared. So why is it after a month long war the winning side(LEGION) is losing ground in the story line???

Remorse -> RE: Storyline Progression...What happened? (2/27/2012 10:52:17)

I think there should be alternate missions but give the same reward depending on what faction side you are.

That would solve both probelms.

And if you win the war (your a legion) for example the mission would be about taking care of suvivors xD

Where as if you in exile it would be abot recovering etc.
This was if your legeion it may seem that you actuly won!
and if you exile it will seem you stand a chance!

The missions would be diffrent but they would give the same reward and hae the same dificulty.

Also there would be one betryel mission incase you siwtched faction sides then you would have to complete a mission to betray the past alignment.
And you can redo the alternate mission from that side BUT get no rewards from them.

And so on.

Lord Loss... -> RE: Storyline Progression...What happened? (2/27/2012 11:00:11)

This thread isnt about missions, its about the storyline itself. The missions are available for all players and give them all same rewards. The point is that according to this heartbreaker saga the legion players spent over a month in frysteland and countless bombs to let alydriah and legion win for them to loose the advantage in the saga that followed it imediately. In the DNS we were promised multiple times that this war would affect the fate of Delta V for good. If they were planing on making exiles the winners all along then there was never any point in frysteland war or any other war that might follow.

midnight assassin -> RE: Storyline Progression...What happened? (2/27/2012 11:02:04)

Who knows legion(just become a legion) will bring 3 nukes to destroy the old fortune city.

Oba -> RE: Storyline Progression...What happened? (2/27/2012 11:51:51)

Agreeeeeed. When I first saw that mission to kill Edgar (The legion war commander) I was like whuiitatmasikdm!? There should indeed be some Legion-based mission in the future (till next war, but probably after that aswell... since Legion will win that too [8D])

Smackie El Frog -> RE: Storyline Progression...What happened? (2/27/2012 12:30:38)

@Remorse

I don't think we need missions for both sides. That would just cause more faction jumping again for people who are obsessed with clearing all the missions.

Remorse -> RE: Storyline Progression...What happened? (2/27/2012 12:35:33)

^ Thats true then perhaps give the alternates the same name xD.

for example the missions which are faction sensitive (Im not saying all missions should be like this but just some)

Could have names like:

DestoryExile leader(L)/Recruit New exile members(E)

But it may be too confusuing.

Thats one option or the names of the mission could mutate as you switch faction so it would give no reason for faction jumping.

Smackie El Frog -> RE: Storyline Progression...What happened? (2/27/2012 12:41:14)

I think they said its impossible to have 2 missions with the same name during the frysteland war. But that's still not resolving the issue I have and posted in the opening post xD

Remorse -> RE: Storyline Progression...What happened? (2/27/2012 13:02:26)

^ The problem they face is if they do favor the leagon side more in missions etc.
Then the people who arnt legion will lose hope.

They need to have the stories seperated so players can feel a sence of dominance over their side without destroying the other sides.

Thats why I think it should be split somehow.

Take Most artix games for example: you choose a side and you get the missions but they sort of give you the feeling that you side is worth it.

Right now we play a scitsofrenic (cant spell.. xD) Hero/villan.

Lord Machaar -> RE: Storyline Progression...What happened? (2/27/2012 14:40:30)

Agreed with all that, but it seems they just want to satisfy the both sides (Legion & Exiles) so losers don't lose their faith in winning again and i guess they should give some superiority so the Winners (Legions) will feel that they win for something and not just to control something they have no Good in it?

goldslayer1 -> RE: Storyline Progression...What happened? (2/27/2012 15:04:28)

looks like legion is ticked off from winning a Fluke war by using heavy amounts of money.

Isn't that the main purpose of Wars and Capturing Locations?? To Demoralize the Opponent into submission?

@ Gold, So
The option was avaiable, people used it... So it's not a fluke war
Everyone had the chance to use it

Smackie El Frog -> RE: Storyline Progression...What happened? (2/27/2012 15:14:05)

Oh goldy. Are you just trying to flame??

I'm not realllly mad. I just want to know why the missions/storyline went that way.

Lord Loss... -> RE: Storyline Progression...What happened? (2/27/2012 15:14:14)

@goldslayer, excuse us for being determined to help legion win, but the point is same, we earned our victory and we expect legion to have the upper hand. If exile won wudnt u expect exiles to have the upper hand?(kinda like they do now)

ok carefull reading time.

well like u said, since the story IS progressing no matter what direction. i think it safe to say legion never actually won the war, just the first battle.

cause if they won the war, there wouldn't a heartbreaker saga as continuation.

so yeah, ill admit, legion won a measly battle. we'll see how the real war goes.

quote:

(I know funny right since they got pwnd in The War for Frysteland)

this is what prompted me to say that.
do u feel flamed sir?

well u won a battle, the story still continues.

maybe u guys lost too many soldiers in the process of winning the battle, and thats part of the story.
u never know.

Sorry Goldy, are you perturbed by the facts of what transpired last month??

Or are you just mad that I make a joke at the exiles feeble attempts at winning a war?

Lord Loss... -> RE: Storyline Progression...What happened? (2/27/2012 15:22:30)

Gold are u serious? we were promised that this war would affect the storyline permanentlly and u kinda have to think that the aftermath would be in the winners favour. As for ur lost soldiers comment, Legion won with so much advantage at the end that i dont think exile should have any soldiers left at all

so by ur logic, then the homeless guy who starved could have went and bought food?
he had a chance to do it, but he didn't use it? (but he doesn';t have money, so the store wouldn't sell him food. no money here, no super warbattlebombs

i think u know what i mean.

lol nah.
but the gaming business sounds interesting.

hey if i made a game, would u be interested in being my cash cow?

vegitix -> RE: Storyline Progression...What happened? (2/27/2012 15:27:49)

Who let the dog out. Goldogie in the house...enjoying flaming in forums?gives you a lot of cheevo!!!![:D]

Oba -> RE: Storyline Progression...What happened? (2/27/2012 15:29:00)

Jesus Gold, as soon you dont "have the advantage" you whine about it. The founder perks and now you have started to whine about Legion won the war. We did overkill you Exiles. Just deal with it.

Smackie El Frog -> RE: Storyline Progression...What happened? (2/27/2012 15:30:46)

Goldy, before using terms like "cash cow" you should know what it means, because in your context it is incorrect.

Here's a quick business school lecture for ya. A cash cow is like a cereal company. Something that keeps bringing in the money with no change. So yeah I'm not a cash cow buddy boy.

Oh yeh and I would nevaevaevaevaaa support you monetarily.

goldslayer1 -> RE: Storyline Progression...What happened? (2/27/2012 15:35:11)

quote:

and it did, ur "victory" did change the storyline.

dont like how it turned out? dont blame the devs or the writers.
blame urselves for choosing legion.

@playarn
battle, the war was more like a battle. if that was a war and u guys won, there wouldn't be a continuation unless it was a battle, or the true war isn't over and we just had a battle. according to the events transpired it only makes me believe "war" is what they called it to make it sound catchier.

i would like to remind everyone, that cindy stated the war would determine the story. which according to her was written before the war started. she was going for option A if legion won, and option B if exile won (from what she said)

Oba -> RE: Storyline Progression...What happened? (2/27/2012 15:38:47)

@Gold

So the rich part of a war cant win? So lets say US (Legion) went to war against... *look for some small place* Cyprus (Exile) (due their bad economy right now). It wouldnt be a war if the US used their money to win the war? Nothing would change if they did win this war? It would just be a "battle"?
It would be nothing left of Cyprus, as it should be the same with Exile.

Lord Loss... -> RE: Storyline Progression...What happened? (2/27/2012 15:40:57)

So ur basically saying that no matter how much we ever farm or how much money we spend to make legion wins nothing will change cuz cindy chose exiles to win? ur right the story was afected but it was meant to be afected in favour of the wining side, if it was exile all along that what was the point of the battle war or whatever u wanna call it

goldslayer1 -> RE: Storyline Progression...What happened? (2/27/2012 15:41:55)

and from that u just suggested legion knew they had advantage over exile.

perhaps maybe legion should have a Civil battle, and make a mutany against alydiah. and its legion vs legion.

point of that is, fight someone ur size. dont fight someone smaller to later gloat victory.

like i said, maybe legion lost too many soldiers in the process. (scores dont mean squat determining amount of soliders)

according to u, legion won the battle.
she didn't choose exile to win. because the story isn't over and u dont have the power to look into the future.
