Clavier -> Class Change Price (5/16/2012 3:26:42)

Do you find them too expensive? Discuss.

Personally for me I would rather make it to 35k. 50k is hard especially for non vars.

charwelly -> RE: Class Change Price (5/16/2012 3:35:46)

No it should stay the same because class change was ment for varium players they are lucky they even got the option to change class

SouL Prisoner -> RE: Class Change Price (5/16/2012 3:44:38)

i don't mind if they reduce a bit, but still, m glad they even made it to credits :)

Stabilis -> RE: Class Change Price (5/16/2012 7:44:27)

Ah! Thank you for mentioning this Clavier, this is one of my largest issues. [:o]

I may not necessarily be labeled as a class-jumper, as I do class-change whenever my current class becomes popular.

Forget that though, my problem with class-change is that I could have paid varium for every class, yet I must still pay varium again if I choose to revisit a class that I thought I had owned. Paying 900 varium or 50K credits to rent a class? Even for just a day, that is wrong.

We should only pay once for a class, the costs do make me uneasy in my opinion.

DestruRaGe -> RE: Class Change Price (5/16/2012 8:06:36)

Too expensive indeed.

kingpowerlord -> RE: Class Change Price (5/16/2012 10:53:48)

@depressed
humm, i wonder if they could code it so that once you buy the claas you can equip it from your inventory, would that be fair?

khalidon5000 -> RE: Class Change Price (5/16/2012 11:01:11)

^^^
That would be cool.

Stabilis -> RE: Class Change Price (5/16/2012 11:04:32)

Code it, yes, make it an "item", maybe. Your character is like a cake, whatever class it is, is like an icing on the cake. You can add the class change feature to your inventory, and that will somewhat work like an item.

But yes, I utmost agree with you there, classes purchased should become owned. As stated, changing to another class in EpicDuel is like renting, and renting being many times more expensive than buying. Buying happens once, renting happens as many purchases as there are class changes.

Then there is the cost of items for competing players... etc... etc. Here is an area where our administrators can work on improving the relationship of value to worth. So let's get this topic noticed. [:)]

i like bounty hunter -> RE: Class Change Price (5/16/2012 11:21:40)

I Agree With The Buying And Renting Thing
But I Don't Agree With Lowering The Price Cu z The Price Is Fine

rayniedays56 -> RE: Class Change Price (5/16/2012 11:47:33)

Personally, the way I see it is too expensive. Looking at the current varium to credits ratio:

900varium=50,000credits

You can see that 1 varium is equal to 55.5 credits, or rounded to 56 credits.

I think it is a bit steep, IMO.

The price can easily be reduced to 45 credtis=1 varium

Which would be 40,500 credits to class change.

This would allow non vars to be able to compete more while the varium community wouldn't feel neglected.

Looking at this other formula, it currently costs 30,000 credits to enhance 5 enhancement slots. (the current enhancement slots for Surgical Slicers) while it only costs 500 varium to enhance 5 slots on it.

500 varium is nothing to varium players. Get the 10,000 varium pack and you can easily enhance several items at once.

Using the new formula:

45 creds to 1 var

then the prices would be subject to be less steep, making the current 5 enhancements from 30,000 credits to 22,500 creds, making it once more easy to last longer.

Suggestions?

Darkwing -> RE: Class Change Price (5/16/2012 11:54:35)

I think the starting class( the one u have when you make ur character) should be available for free. makes no sense to pay for the class you had from beginning for free.

Stabilis -> RE: Class Change Price (5/16/2012 11:57:40)

Is 45 credits the exact conversion to 1 varium? I think it is pretty close, the last time I made conversions I got 50 credits.

I support the proper treatment to free2play though, I stand loyal on the claim that free2play equipment should be as strong as pay2play equipment, the difference being that pay2play equipment costs only varium, therefor money, while the free2play equipment would still cost only credits, therefor time.

The final step is as Raynie is bringing up is the proper equivalence of credits to varium.

rayniedays56 -> RE: Class Change Price (5/16/2012 12:00:37)

Yes, the exact conversion could be 45 credits to 1 varium.

This would make soooo much more sense. It is easier to code, easier for var players, and MUCH easier for f2p players :)

Ranloth -> RE: Class Change Price (5/16/2012 12:01:45)

Varium equpment gets advantage of 2 Levels over F2P equipment, which is also a fact. 2 Levels = 2 damage/8 stat points. So Varium equipment will always be a bit stronger but this is obvious as you pay Varium for it & sometimes Credit price is lower than fully F2P item.

DestructingM -> RE: Class Change Price (5/16/2012 12:05:52)

In my opinion, it should be reduced. But not to 35K, that's way low and easy to achieve.

rayniedays56 -> RE: Class Change Price (5/16/2012 12:07:16)

I suggested 40,500, not 35,000 :)

Still a bit high, but also a little bit more achievable :P

Clavier -> RE: Class Change Price (5/16/2012 12:15:21)

The class renting would be a good idea... But how would the class jumpers feel then?

ansh0 -> RE: Class Change Price (5/16/2012 12:23:41)

How about 38,700 assuming 43 credits=1 varium ?

Or maybe it could work like this, if you change to a class which is descendant of your starting class, you would get a 15% discount whenever you change to that class.

Stabilis -> RE: Class Change Price (5/16/2012 12:25:46)

No Clavier, no one here so far supports the current system of class changing which I call renting!

The so far most agreed on point is buying a class once, permanently.

frogbones -> RE: Class Change Price (5/16/2012 12:27:11)

EVERYTHING in this game is too expensive.

Except boosters, that is.

Boosters should cost 1000 credits and take away cheevo points when you use them.

khalidon5000 -> RE: Class Change Price (5/16/2012 12:28:13)

@Ansh0
I don't think you should call the new classes *upgrades* as this suggests the class(es) are better when they are/should be equal.
It could say the more aggresive/ more tactical/ more technologically advanced version of your class is avaliable to you for a ??% discount and then a warning message which says that the class is not an upgrade of your current class but has some unique & different skills, allowing you to further experiment.
Or the first class you purchase with varium you get a ??% discount, which is much easier and better.

Anyway, I like the idea of the discount of varium. lowering of class change by credits by 10k is also feasible but first we need to be able to purchase and keep classes.
The only change I think is necessary is to be able to purchase and keep classes that you have.
In the beginning you will choose from: Mercenary or Tech Mage or Bounty Hunter.
Then you can purchase the two starting classes you didn't choose in the beginning & the other 3 classes (Cyber Hunter, Tactical Mercenary & Blood Mage).
You will keep the class you choose in the beginning & any other class you purchase.

rayniedays56 -> RE: Class Change Price (5/16/2012 12:31:04)

frogbones, this is not a boosters thread :/

So I will not go into detail explaining the importance of them...

@khalidon5000, I totally agree. Cyber Hunter is NOT an upgraded bounty. It is merely a bounty hunter who experienced with technology.

Fight a strength bounty versus a cyber. The bounty will surely win! :)

frogbones -> RE: Class Change Price (5/16/2012 13:07:11)

Boosters are only important to players who: are vain, have a crappy build, or have been outplayed by their opponent.

To good players, boosters are meaningless.

And....they need to be way more expensive.

Santa ClawZz -> RE: Class Change Price (5/16/2012 13:10:01)

@frogbones

Let me tell you this then. I have an incredible build (CH, yes, hate me later) and it's doing great so far. Well, was...until this Strength BM critical hit me 4 times in a row. He had 32 + 9 support (that equals 41 for people who can't do math). Now which of those reasons you mentioned above was it because I did use a booster against the BM.

I did lose against him because he critical hit me again after the booster, but meh. Not my point here.

rayniedays56 -> RE: Class Change Price (5/16/2012 13:51:30)

Frogbones, please stay on topic... :/ I really like this thread

(oh an look at this, http://epicduel.artix.com/charpage.asp?id=comicalbiker
(he uses Boosters and has 222,000 wins...)

On topic.

I just saw a F2P player with all credit equipment literally whip my butt in 1v1 :O He was lvl 31 and I'm lvl 34.

Goes to show that he knew how to fight :P
