The Astral Fury -> Blood Mages OP? (10/27/2012 11:01:07)

Ok heres what I hate about BM's any build you have they can dominate if your a strength BH you are hit with indimidate then he put's on a reflex boost and he has a 5 focus strength build with deadly aim. So he uses his sidearm, does tons of

damage because he has a strength build plus deadly aim he pulls out his robot again 5 focus so he's doing alot of damage and while this is happening your doing next to no damage because he indimidated you and still has reflex boost and then he

rages with bludgeon and he sure won't miss because he still has reflex boost on and it's not even strength build's caster tech mages what do they do they put on relfex boost then indimidate you so even if you manage to get a little bit of damage

with your plasma bolt after that your gun wil be garbage you'll end up doing 3's because again he's got indimidate and energy shield. And even if your build includes a super charge you probably won't make it because of his deadly aim and 5 focus

strength build so he'll kill you before you can use it and even if you mange to use it he's gotten back so much HP form Blood Lust that it won't matter how much you do he probably still has energy shield on too.

Keep reflex boost and energy sheild that's fine, but indimidate like what ever element you do your just indimidated and then RB or ES and then he just does all this damage were your doing next to nothing this has to change.

Mother1 -> RE: Blood Mages OP? (10/27/2012 12:00:11)

Are blood mages OP? as a whole they aren't. The str build is OP and the level 5 focus if used right is strong, but not OP. Also it sound like you are just complaining about a class and not saying anything in this to help balance what you think is OP.

Rayman -> RE: Blood Mages OP? (10/27/2012 12:23:18)

quote:

used right is strong

Used right? No one uses it right, they just spam they'r gun and boost till high rounds and abuse the infernal android with gun and regain alot of hp and keeping tank def/res.
Android can do a 50 dmg on rage, Non rage blud can do 34+, Gun can do 30+, aux 22+, it's just too much dmg for a focus build.

The Astral Fury -> RE: Blood Mages OP? (10/27/2012 12:33:27)

I'm not complaining they can lower your damage and increase their defense and still do tons of damage with the 5 focus strength builds aligned with deadly aim it's not fair they can tank the crud out of you and while your doing no damage their doing ton's this IS a balance issue I fail to see how you think other wise a class shouldn't be able to lower your damage and increase there defense no class can do that, but the BM this is a big problem for all the other classes indimidate needs to removed and replaced with something else, but it needs to go.

Mother1 -> RE: Blood Mages OP? (10/27/2012 12:41:15)

Ok now at least you made a suggestion to help balance where unlike with the original post it sounded like you were just complaining. However remove intimidate? Doing this will make Str builds even more OP then ever since there will be no way to lower str abusers str as well as hurt both Merc and BM.

There are always two sides to a story, and while this can lower a normal person's str which hurt, it also makes the str abusers attacks hurt less as well. Plus Mercs have this skill as well. If you get rid of intimadate what would you replace the skill with for both classes? you can't give them a buff skill since they already have reflex boost and energy shield and giving them field or blood commander would extremely overpower the entire class. The same would be said if you gave them another debuff. Smoke would make Str BM extremely OP and the same with Malfuction.

Blaze The Aion Ender -> RE: Blood Mages OP? (10/27/2012 12:42:56)

It's true that their focus builds are incredibly strong, because of all the attacks they have working with str
With my 5 focus BH, the only strong attacks I have are when I use my level 2 smoke and then my bot and/or gun
5 focus BM on the other hand can use their gun, bot normal attack, bludgeon, gun, chairman special or aux, then next rage their infernal android special
They can just do too much damage too quick
Not to mention, with their 2 shields and intimidate, they can certainly put up a good tank setup while still doing fairly high damage
It just has too many strong attacks between the bot, the gun and the level 1 or 2 bludgeon still doing high damage
I don't think intimidate is the problem, and I'm not sure which 1 aspect is the problem
For me, I use EMP to remove 33 energy, but then they just boost 25 and are all set with around 30 energy still
If they don't bring energy boosters, they will have a very hard time killing me
I'm not 100% sure how to nerf them, but has this been considered: remove bludgeon
They have far too many burst damage attacks costing little to no energy
Gun + Deadly Aim
Bot + 5 Focus
Bludgeon + Level 1

5 focus should be about making your enemy useless, then picking off at their health,
not making your enemy useless and their DESTROYING their health

The Astral Fury -> RE: Blood Mages OP? (10/27/2012 12:51:35)

No Mother1 I'm saying get rid of indimidate form BM not Merc.

Mother1 -> RE: Blood Mages OP? (10/27/2012 12:55:54)

Oh I see. However what would you suggest replacing it with? As I stated before debuffs are out as well as buffs since any remaining debuff would OP the class worse, and the only buffs left are pure Offensive once since having two of the same types off buffs would be a tanking Nightmare for this class.

Energy drains are out since this would also OP the class even with Assimalate since this would be abused by str BM and they will have the ability to gain health and energy back offensively.

Ranloth -> RE: Blood Mages OP? (10/27/2012 12:58:56)

Intimidate is classified as offical debuff so each class must have 2 of these: EP/HP regen, passive Armor & debuff
So you plan to give them Reroute or one of passive Armors? Your plan of nerfing them is actually overpowering them with either of the available options and just nerf Strength directly not the class.. You fail to see how problem will persist and will keep saying "Balance Team sucks. Nerf nerf nerf, buff all classes instead not nerf!" - gonna be a bit hypocritical, no?

The Astral Fury -> RE: Blood Mages OP? (10/27/2012 13:10:08)

Mother 1 that's the thing I don't know how, but we just exactly get rid of their two defense skills can we so that's why I suggested indimadate, but wat do give them that's the harder part I'll give a list and see what you think.

- Adrenaline: I know this is a terrible idea for strength's builds will be crazy, but it's a start.

@Trans I'd love to buff all the classes to fix this problem, but that's not needed for this just a small little nerf to a skill and to be replaced with something else.

Mother1 -> RE: Blood Mages OP? (10/27/2012 13:22:29)

Then BM would have 3 passives and would have an advantage over all the other classes with just this.

Also this would OP support BM more then the others. As you already know a support merc can possibly rage at turn three because of this passive. Also with the platinum pride armor ability to steal rage this combo would be even worse.

The Astral Fury -> RE: Blood Mages OP? (10/27/2012 16:20:55)

Your right Mother it was just a thought this will be harder then I thought unless we give BM a new skill I don't see any skill that could replace this one. Here's a shot in the dark replace it with Smoke Screen or Malfunction yes you can start hitting me on the head with a mallet of course if we do this we have to change a bunch of skills to make this work or even revamp the whole class whoch acutual could make the class balanced more where it's not OP and not UP, but it would take some time.

Any other Idea's?

zion -> RE: Blood Mages OP? (10/27/2012 16:58:37)

Assimilation could replace intimidate, but it would just make it different, not stronger or weaker.

D.v.D. -> RE: Blood Mages OP? (10/27/2012 16:59:41)

An energy costing skill that takes away agility penalties for three turns?
Makes sense with the name "blood" mage

Crazy ideas.

Mother1 -> RE: Blood Mages OP? (10/27/2012 17:04:07)

@ Gk365

A move that can give BM energy and health at the same time because they have BL? Can anyone say OP? Str BM would have a field day with this one.

@ D.v.D

I think you mean health, and no this would be OP as well. Str BM would abuse this one as well since most have high health and str. Last thing we need is to remove the penalty for having high health as it would promote them to use even higher health without risk.

D.v.D. -> RE: Blood Mages OP? (10/27/2012 17:16:28)

-It would cost energy.
-str bm would need high energy,health and str.
-low defense,resistance,and support
-skills that rely on damage for effect well do well( static , frenzy ,bl, blood commander)

zion -> RE: Blood Mages OP? (10/27/2012 17:30:31)

@Mother You can admit that with all the STR builds running around, not having an energy drain is a huge liability. I find it frustrating that BM isn't a more skillful class. Another thing people don't understand is that BM is OP when you have a full varium STR build but it is UP with any other build or if you are f2p.

ND Mallet -> RE: Blood Mages OP? (10/27/2012 17:56:17)

@gk Support BMs have a very powerful defensive support build with Intimidate, Reflex and E.Shield. Plus they receive health on attack and have DA to do more. They honestly don't need energy drain to go with it.

zion -> RE: Blood Mages OP? (10/27/2012 18:22:19)

@ND never saw one... and your skill points would be pretty spread out. Also, defensive builds don't really maximize BL's potential.

Ranloth -> RE: Blood Mages OP? (10/27/2012 18:30:14)

They don't? Aux can be as deadly just with cooldown + you have defence to cover it up and DA to aid your Gun. So what if you never seen one, does it matter? Perhaps you gotta be skilled which some people lack. And spread out? Seen Focus 5 BM? I mean decent one not crappy copy that people spread around.. Similar to that but more defensive. You sure you're playing ED?

zion -> RE: Blood Mages OP? (10/27/2012 20:04:09)

@Trans No need to flame... BL benefit every turn (STR) > BL benefit every 4 turns (SUP).
And you misunderstood skill points to mean stats...

theholyfighter -> RE: Blood Mages OP? (10/28/2012 3:00:16)

IMO Blood Mages are Oped because: Blood Lust + Deadly Aim+ Shields

1. Replace Energy Shield with Blood Shield.
2. Blugeon: Either increase its energy cost or completely replace it with
3. Create 3 new skills, one for CH, one for TLM, one for BM, replacing them with their skills with the most arguments..........

Promaster -> RE: Blood Mages OP? (10/28/2012 3:51:44)

@gk365

I have seen several bloodmages who focus more on shielding than dealing damage. Just look hard and keep clicking 1v1. The skilled ones will win you easily hands down.

Str BMs do deal more damage than Sup BMs, however,

Damage Str BMs take < Damage Sup BMs take

And with this, it all balances out. Support BMs can be as OP as Str BMs. However, being a Sup BM is not easy since you need timing for each of your skills.

@theholyfighter

1. That wouldn't be so bad, however, adding a skill that does not require any ep would make the class stronger, seeing as to how they can regen back the hp used with bloodlust, but i do not object this idea.

2. I might support increasing the ep consumption of bludgeon, however i do not support completely replacing it.

3. I do not see how replacing skills for Tlms and CHs can help balance out BMs. If you could specify, that would help.

Promiscuous -> RE: Blood Mages OP? (10/28/2012 6:03:11)

Imo BM is the most versatile and fun class atm but it's far from being OP. Don't forget it's the only class that can't decrease enemy's energy + a single atom/emp completely destroys most BMs. Support BM could work in the future when support gets the needed buff and more support based items are released. All those new weapons/armors are encouraging mostly str and tank builds. ISO Dex/Tech/Support armor ._.

Promaster -> RE: Blood Mages OP? (10/28/2012 6:14:42)

@Promiscuous

Emp/atom does not destroy BMs. It just saves them the trouble of thinking of what to do with their skills. I removed 43ep from a BM with 46ep once and he still ended up winning. He wasn't the only one who won me too. They are pretty much ep-independent. And it's not just the str builds. +5 focus builds too.
