Patch Notes - 1.5.2
NEW CHANGES/FEATURES:
  • New Azrael Promo now available:
    • Azrael's Anguish gun
      • Azrael's Will active core: Charms an enemy, forcing them to strike you on their next turn
    • Azrael's Annihilator auxiliary
      • Azrael's Torment active core: Shoots your enemy, reducing 65% of all buff effects on an enemy
  • Alydroid now has Seasonal Rare Heartbreaker gear
  • Missions Removed:
    • Lepus' New Friends!
    • Seasons in the Abyss
    • EXFOLIATE
    • Easy Bein' Green
    • Shattered by a White Hare
    • Set Us Up the Noms
    • Dance, Puppets! Dance!
  • Starter Kit promo items relocated to the Junker
  • Tactical Battlegear promo items relocated to Mirv
  • Advanced Battlegear promo items relocated to Overlord Guard
  • Veteran Battlegear promo items relocated to Hank
  • Marauder now drops the mission item for "Point A to Point B" 100% of the time (up from 18%)
  • Oz now drops the mission item for "Access Denied" 25% of the time (up from 11%)
  • Added an "Edit Item Stats" button to inventory items
  • You may again buy items that your class cannot equip once you are level 9 and higher
  • The "Infernal Spirit" core is no longer locked on items and can be replaced
  • The "Exoskeleton" core is no longer locked on items and can be replaced
  • Meteor Shower, Thorns Assault, and Jack O Fire descriptions now correctly state that the damage increase is based on your weapon’s damage, not total damage
BALANCE CHANGES:

SKILLS
Note: These are not the only changes we plan on making to Strength-based skills. We wanted to make these changes first to make sure we aren't over-tuning other skills or classes at the same time.
  • Meteor Shower core
    • Now has a 1 turn warm up
  • Double Strike
    • Damage lowered by 8% at all levels
  • Berzerker
    • Damage lowered by 10% at all level
  • Massacre
    • Damage lowered by 5% at all levels
  • Bludgeon
    • Damage lowered by 5% at all levels
  • Field Medic
    • Base heal increased at early levels from 11-38 to 14-38
  • Bunker Buster
    • Base damage lowered at later levels from 22-40 to 22-35
    • Damage now increases by 2 as you approach level 35
CLASSES
Note: These changes are primarily designed to adjust class balance at very early levels (1-5)
  • Mercenary
    • Base Health lowered from 57 to 55
    • Base Energy increased from 53 to 54
  • Tech Mage
    • Base Health increased from 54 to 55
    • Base Strength increased from 18 to 20
    • Base Technology lowered from 24 to 22
  • Cyber Hunter
    • Base Health increased from 53 to 55
    • Base Energy lowered from 57 to 56
  • Tactical Mercenary
    • Base Health lowered from 57 to 55
    • Base Energy increased from 53 to 54
  • Blood Mage
    • Base Health lowered from 56 to 55
    • Base Energy increased from 54 to 55
BUGS FIXED:
  • Buffs and debuffs affecting the same stat were not stacking properly
  • Several skills would freeze the client if the target dropped during the animation
  • Rage could be gained by the blocker of an attack
  • Rage was capable of exceeding 100%, causing rage reductions to sometimes appear incorrectly
  • Chairman's Fury was returning more Rage than intended
  • Mutating weapons could show incorrect damage type in shops
  • Advanced and Veteran gear were incorrectly flagged as Rare
  • Ylwa's "Battle Bruised" mission incorrectly required a Baby Yeti Warrior
  • Hulnas' "Battle Born" mission now requires a Baby Yeti to begin
  • Arctic Trainer's "Warming Up" now requires a Dark Yeti to begin
  • Added items to Valestra's Shop (She and Hank share suppliers)
  • "Rotten" weapons are now labeled similarly to "Rusted" weapons in the Item Finder

this isnt enough it just isnt the strengh builds will still run riot . i can see that without logging on .

@above yeah i feel that the 10% nerf on beserker and 8% nerf on double strike is not enough.

^ it took 3 months to launch omega and it came in a horrific state balance wise. we should not have to endure another day of this . i wont be enduring it . its not the point though is it going to take 3 months to get balance properly fixed ?. our varium is worthless and were supposed to be happy about a game thats ridicolously unbalanced aftter what will now be 2 "balance fixes"

I think that the strength stat should be nerfed, like progression-wise because It's Oped in all the classes.

You don't get it, the final hour. If they make the changes to be an overkill, you'll end up with UP classes so there will be builds and/or classes with OP strategies which are now balanced. If you won't endure it then why are you playing? I mean, you just contradicted yourself since if you play, you plan on enduring it. :3

Hilariously, you didn't even play yet because it's still updating. You're already judging it by seeing some numbers. Unless you have some data to back it up with that isn't a guesstimate, you cannot really judge these changes yet. <.<

I hope STR Mercs get dominated after this update but i highly doubt it.

^lulwut? how is it ridicolously unbalanced if ur not winning at a 90% win rate thats too bad. Non-variums in delta were like training dummies and if things continued to be OP for variums as they were then tons of non variums would quit. Yes they took a long time to releae the update but they've been working so hard and obviously when they release basically a new game obviously there are going to be faults. All i ever hear now is how things arent fair for u varium abusers and thats cuz all u guys did in delta was get max enchantments and become the most OP class at the time god theyre trying their best and instead of thank yous all they ever get are qq posts from guys like you. Also how is varium worthless?Varium players have cores that non varium players cant get and u guys dont have to play for 2-3 hours straight to buy weapons. If youre soo angry just stop playing and wait until things are balanced. Also if you bought varium but wanna quit at the first sight of trouble the that tells me that ur a rich snob that gets wat he wants instead of getting varium cuz ur loyal to epicduel.

Str isn't the problem
Str based skills are....

The defenses and Hp are lowered but the % of a skill's damage remained.
this nerf, well we'll see how it is when it's out.
although the Strike % damage should have been tweaked aswell

This is a saying that was used to describe some past balance updates that came rather quickly and without any real testing, "A sledgehammer to the knee."

The better balance updates come in steps as to actually balance the issue and not cripple the class or classes in this case

^ ive fought like 20 battles in the last 4 days with the fact that every weapon is the same . varium is worthless . the balance .

ive gone from extremely active to barely playing .

id rather have underpowered classes at this point then classes that can do devastating damage pretty much screw you regardless of your defences in a couple of turns or your stratergie with no effort needed on their side. halve a nerf (halves being kind ) is not wat was needed . plus theyve barely touched the bh or ch strengh builds. and havent done enough too the mercs. this isnt a balance update in my opinion .

and what makes it worse if they do make the azrael gear only avalable with the 10k pack their effectively saying if you want the weapons buy 10k of something that really really not that useful anymore . not a good signal to be sending out .

Nothing about the equations or stat progression.

The only strong skill that the Blood Mage has, Bludgeon, has been weakened instead of improving the other skills.

Multis are left to be weakened and unbalanced.

Then this "Bunker Buster
Base damage lowered at later levels from 22-40 to 22-35
Damage now increases by 2 as you approach level 35 "

So it would look like this
Improves With: Technology (+2 damage per 5 Technology)
from
Improves With: Technology (+1 damage per 5 Technology)

compared to Plasma Cannon
Improves With: Technology (+1 damage per 5 Technology)

So as they decreased the base damage of Bunker Buster they made it strong by making it increase by 2 per 5 technology.

How many players will be playing the Blood mage after this update will going into that class be like going into ghost towns of the west where you see nothing but tumble weeds.

@hun He meant that it will have an extra 2 damage on the base damage when it reaches level 35, not that you're getting 2 damage each 5 points into Technology

6th battle of mine since the update, found a player with new promo already: http://epicduel.artix.com/charpage.asp?id=bryantcool3 - so, who said it won't sell? <.< Even if it's just one I found, it doesn't mean players won't get it. :I

Anyway.. I have yet to see a Strength Mercs, if they are gone..: "Is this the real world?"

dunno why the mercs would leave its still between strengh and support for the top spot the mercs and bhes are still vastly OP from the 10 battles i just fought . im not prepared to give it any more then that . EDs failed me too many times back into retirement i go

Angel is happy. Angel has Azrael in it's newbie form. Angel must win more to use Azrael as Angel's primary weapon.

Angel is so happy that Angel is currently speaking in the third person and annoying Angel.

I cheated to get my limited quantity items.. lower the stats to 14 dmg +0 in stats and buy cheap for 12k creds / upgrade it later! bwuhahaha awesome swords!

Also glad I did the carrot quests this morning before the update!
