@DeathGuard
He has three DoTs and two shields; he can just plant some of them and defend himself until his enemy dies.

Andlu -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 110 - READ THE FIRST POST (4/1/2013 20:41:05)

@TheJop If you wanna do that, just look at revontheus. 4 DoT one void reflection and such.

The Jop -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 110 - READ THE FIRST POST (4/1/2013 20:42:09)

Yeah, but Void Reflection is too costly just for defense. I prefer plain shields.

Jmagician -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 110 - READ THE FIRST POST (4/1/2013 20:44:03)

Guys. . don't forget to talk about Shadowdance.-.

Anyways, hows everyone doing? Glad to notice my april fools joke started a rather interesting debate about Beta Rewards. You guys were respectable during the whole bit as well :)

Shards Superior -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 110 - READ THE FIRST POST (4/1/2013 21:23:04)

The offensive shadow types seem better than the defensive. Life Drain covers the HP weakness for offensive. Once you charge up to 5, there's basically no stopping you from rampaging on your opponent. Pyre Witch has slightly better offense, with Fireball and Incinerate, but Witchblade has a HEAL, as well as Sacrifice, which is basically an extra 5 damage, which combo especially well together, becoming 10 damage for 8 mana and 1 HP, which is only slightly worse than a Fireball.

Defensive, on the other hand, is too slow. The defensive skills are basic shield, and a select few Master Shadow classes have Void Reflect, which is way too costly to use effectively. Poison has a 6 mana cost, which is too much because that guarantees that you can almost never use it right after you draw, especially since Mark also costs 6 mana. It takes too long to do the damage as well as to be able to keep a good defense.

The Jop -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 110 - READ THE FIRST POST (4/1/2013 21:48:17)

Defensive characters are much better at higher levels because they got much more damage for their energy, and you can afford to build up defense and DoTs when you have a lot of health. Offensive shadow characters can take out their enemies in close to one turn at the very low levels, but that doesn't last long and if their enemy is still alive after their barrage they probably won't have enough energy or health to keep using sacrifice and life drain.

Beck -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 110 - READ THE FIRST POST (4/1/2013 22:08:58)

@Andlu
I think we've had this discussion before. Remember? I said Vampire Lord was better than Void Knight solely on the basis that it has unblockables, so it is the more versatile of the two. Then you said VK was better cuz he's perma-rare so there.

@The Jop
Defensive types pay for it though because it gets harder and harder to train them as the levels increase.

The Jop -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 110 - READ THE FIRST POST (4/1/2013 22:12:49)

@Beck
You have to be very patient with them, but they can do tons of damage per turn. Their DoTs can do about 20 damage in a turn and they can add to it with regular attacks.

Beck -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 110 - READ THE FIRST POST (4/1/2013 22:19:33)

@The Jop
Yes I know. I have a level 20 Poison Drake :D

Lemonus -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 110 - READ THE FIRST POST (4/1/2013 22:20:16)

Speaking of Shadow types... I dunno if I should train Darkon or wait for something :/ No Rev
Or go PD train
or something

Shards Superior -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 110 - READ THE FIRST POST (4/1/2013 22:26:01)

@The Jop: ... 20 Damage? That's, like, 7 DoTs. Is that even possible? O_o
Even at higher levels, you just redraw 5 cards, and you have another ~20 damage at your disposal, as well as a total of +10 mana. Especially since at higher levels you can definitely afford to charge to 5 instead of jumping the gun early so you don't get killed too quickly.
And if your draw doesn't give maximum damage, that's probably because you have a slow skill (shield, Poison, Mark, etc). Just use those first and allow your mana to recharge. It's a strategy that works almost perfectly from level 7+.

It's always easier to win at higher levels, regardless of playstyle.

Desmodus -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 110 - READ THE FIRST POST (4/1/2013 22:26:14)

Hey guys wassup? It looks like I have some catching up to do.

Tally -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 110 - READ THE FIRST POST (4/1/2013 22:27:42)

@Lemonus
Join us, and train your Poison Drake. It's worth it, trust me. :3

The Jop -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 110 - READ THE FIRST POST (4/1/2013 22:31:32)

@Shards
Two Marks of Death + Poison = 21 damage. Sometimes you can get more than one poison on them too, along with two marks of death. It's not easier to win at higher levels if you're using up a good chunk of your energy with life drain, which is part of offensive shadow characters' arsenals.

@Beck & Tally
The only thing I don't like about Poison Drake is that I often get an Iron Hide in my Deck before I get Neutralize, making the one card useless at the time. I like to be able to utilize all my cards.

Lemonus -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 110 - READ THE FIRST POST (4/1/2013 22:34:43)

Funny how my Maggot is my first Lv 10 Shadow... sure, PD train it is and then maybe Darkon.

DeathGuard -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 110 - READ THE FIRST POST (4/1/2013 22:42:55)

@Lord Beck: Let me fight your PD ;D

Beck -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 110 - READ THE FIRST POST (4/1/2013 22:46:50)

@Deathguard
Ok. See you at Nulgath solace-91!

Ok Testing it is then, 1 sec.

DeathGuard -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 110 - READ THE FIRST POST (4/1/2013 22:50:30)

Could it be in Testing server? It doesn't lags that much for me. Same solace-91 please

The Jop -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 110 - READ THE FIRST POST (4/1/2013 23:23:13)

And that's it, I have every free possessable character in Oversoul! Now I can relax until this week's release.

Megadragonknight -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 110 - READ THE FIRST POST (4/1/2013 23:27:24)

@The Jop
That's good for you. How many characters you have in total?

The Jop -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 110 - READ THE FIRST POST (4/1/2013 23:33:37)

@Dragonknight
114, but I'm going to delete all the useless apprentices I caught when defeating characters that I already evolved when that becomes possible.

Megadragonknight -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 110 - READ THE FIRST POST (4/1/2013 23:44:22)

114? That's still good but keeping all the apprentices just for collection is what "Gotta possess them all!" is all about.

The Jop -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 110 - READ THE FIRST POST (4/1/2013 23:54:43)

Eh, I don't know. I wouldn't keep Bulbasaur and Venusaur in Pokémon even though I'm trying to catch them all. As long as I have all the highest ranks of all the character trees I'm happy.

Megadragonknight -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 110 - READ THE FIRST POST (4/2/2013 0:03:25)

@The Jop
Okay then. To me, catching every characters make me feel happy as a Oversoul hunter and collector.

Jmagician -> RE: =OS= Beta Release Thread 110 - READ THE FIRST POST (4/2/2013 0:11:21)

Ahh just got back from watching the premier of Game of Thrones.

@above: When the bag limit comes into play, 'gotta catch em all' wouldn't sound too fun :S
