Dragonman -> Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/5/2013 13:37:51)

ORIGINAL: geopetal

XD If you guys can come up with a bunch of funny, random "this is going to happen/is happening" stories that would work with Book 3 who knows what might happen....

So I took that as an invitation.

Go ahead, have fun, and make sure to discuss!

And some ideas to go off of include: The Water Supply, Akanthus being from the future, and any other conspiracies you can think of.

Edit: FAQed for me! -geo

Verethragna -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/5/2013 14:11:32)

Since it was seemingly my post that inspired Geo, I'll repost it both for redundancy and so she only has to consult one thread in the future.

quote:

The Rose tries to remove the breathing quality of the water, but they succeed in removing the breathing ability of the water.
All life that can breathe the water, fish, all other manner of sea life, Water Elves ... Everything that needs to breathe water suddenly finds itself suffocating.
Sure, The Rose wouldn't care about the Water Elves. One less magical race for them to deal with.
But the sea, which I assume Lore's covers at least 70% of the planets surface, suddenly becomes a sea filled with death.
So much so that the ocean water becomes undrinkable, and the only way to purify the water for drinking uses is through magic.
The Rose finds itself having created a problem that only magic can solve, while at the same time trying to fight against that very same power.
The people, needing drinking water as all land-based life does, becomes disgruntled towards The Rose and rebel factions the likes we've never seen rise up.

But it get's worse.
All that senseless death beneath the waves causes enough of a reverberation that Kathool wakes up early.
Since his existence defies reality, he may breathe but not in a way that we would understand it.
So he is not affected by the fact that the water is no longer breathable.
But we are. Because of The Rose, not only has he returned, but we are unable to fight him on his own turf.
And why should he leave the bottom of the ocean, knowing that so long as he stays down there he is safe?

Now think what Kathool did to The Hero when there was no violence and hatred in his mind.
And imagine what he could do if, say, the entire population, both The Rose and the rebels were already consumed by it.
He turns the entire population of Lore against one another in a war that makes the one against Sepulcher look like a simple game of chess by comparison.
And there is nothing we can do to stop him.

The Rose destroys Lore far more effectively than the Mysterious Stranger could have ever hoped for.

The End.

I personally like my idea too much.
I don't know if I'll able to bring myself to top it.
Or if I even can, for that matter.

megakyle777 -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/5/2013 14:30:23)

All magical beings as yet unenslaved go to a gathering.

The Fairies, who are mad at The Rose enslaving their children.

The Dragons, mad at The Rose for trying to command their might and knowledge without consent.

The Elementals and the Avatars, fearful that the Lords will fade with no magic.

The Undead (those that think anyway), knowing that they would die with no magic.

The Wizards, whose lives would mean nothing with no magic.

The Chaosweavers, sent by Vaal to see what is happening, since even he can see if magic ends his army will fall.

The Mindless Magic Beings of the world, knowing a storm is coming.

And The Sneevils, who were promised boxes.

Together they judge the crime of The Rose and Alteon's new regime, and find them wanting for suich crimes against their people.

A war comes, the likes of which even the warmongers are unprepared for. A army that dwarfs even Sepulchures march for Swordhaven to take Jannia's head.

Faerdin -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/5/2013 15:39:11)

For all of his life, it was the one goal of Ash Dragonblade to become a knight by rescuing a princess. But that's the problem.

What if Ash is a princess?

@Vere: That was a wonderful theory, can't lie. ;)

so can you say that it's gathering: the magic?
spoiler:

the joke is when you switch the places of the words magic and gathering

also, magnus hansa accepts us more than most of the people who are allied-neutral.

what if magnus hansa is actually on our side?

Myra -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/5/2013 16:53:33)

So, do I understand this correctly - if enough interesting ideas are posted here, geo may introduce an NPC in FR who spouts conspiracy theories? That is amazing! It would make me so happy if that becomes reality [:D]

And even if not, this thread should still be plenty of fun.

Verethragna's idea sets the bar pretty high. I don't think I'm creative enough to come up with anything close to this level of awesomeness. O_o

The first things that came to my mind were inspired by real world conspiracy theories:

The world is going to end soon, because the Atealan calendar says so? (I guess that's true for their world [&o])

Several important people on Lore, especially the ruling class, are actually shapeshifting dragons. Come to think of it, there actually are shapeshifting dragons (Nythera's mom for example). So on Lore, it even kind of makes sense to believe in lizard people :D

Chickencows are not real!1!!11! (Usually conspiracy theories involve some kind of creature that's supposed to be real, but is very likely not, like bigfoot or the Loch Ness monster. But I think in a world with actual magical creatures the theory is more fun if you claim they don't exist).

And, because even a stopped watch is right twice a day, even a conspiracy theorist should have at least one true idea:

spoiler:

Mayor Waen is actually Batoro!
:O

The Odor -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/5/2013 17:01:59)

Myra: Liked the first three but the fourth is just silly.

The world is actually just a virtual experience for mysterious and ungraspably powerful beings who sometimes "play" with Lore for amusement!

We actually ate the dragon egg and hatched a baby Vultragon who is being disguised as a Baby Dragon by Aria since she wants to bred our baby vultragon with other dragons to create a super Dultragon race so she can have an almighty army on her side when she reveals her half-dragon (On her mothers side), half-infernal (On her fathers side) heritage. She is planning on attacking her father Warlic and her halfsister Nythera with this army and claim vengeance for the slight of having her half sister both having her mother and her father (Despite them having different fathers) with her while she was growing up. She also replaced the dragon amulet of the hero with a exact replica that had a growth spell cast on it allowing us to "grow" our vultragon as to not raise suspicion. The fake amulet also has a fire breathing spell cast upon it so that the Vultragon can breath fire.

Frost Moglin -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/5/2013 17:12:45)

What if Cysero broke the 4th wall, 2nd wall, 3rd wall and other walls and got insane when he found out that he is just a character in game?
The Rosecake is a lie.
What if Magus Hansa is actually Robina in a great disguise?

San Robin -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/5/2013 17:32:30)

What if the serious rose members are actually roses that were given life and a human shape by Jaania :o
The flowers are against us D:

or.... what if everything that's happening in book 3 is actually a dream the hero has while being in his/her frozen state :O DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUUUUUN

Myra -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/5/2013 18:00:15)

quote:

[:D] That is the greatest conspiracy theory of all!

Stephen Nix -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/5/2013 18:28:38)

Or to go with San Robin's theory.....
1) You would need to give the rose members a rose knowing it is their weakness
2) The hero goes on a quick quest to find one and next we go back to the same Rose Guard and we present the rose
3) He quickly shakes his head and says, what you think a rose can hurt me, then we throw the rose in his eyes, and he runs away crying!

Or when we throw the rose, the rose member rubs it off his face in disgust, and we see him mad, then RANDOMLY San Robin arrives and yells...

quote:

San Robin: THHRRROOOOWWWW DAAA CHEESSEEEE!

Next scene is a bunch of villagers and San throwing cheese at the Rose guard, knocking him out! We move on in the quest.

Question Mark? -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/5/2013 19:22:10)

I actually had a conspiracy going about a year or two ago. (I got Lim on my side, while he was still a staff member, always a plus!) It went something like this:

Facts:
1. The Shadowscythe in every universe stole their imagery and insignias from the same place the Order of Mysterious Necromancers stole theirs, Erebus.
2. This is due to Erebus' galavanting about the multiverse, leading to a number of factions learning of him and adopting his image as scare tactics.
3. However, Erebus' cloaked form wasn't his to start with, he found the AQ universe's mysterious stranger and took on his shape.
4. It was revealed in book one that the Mysterious Strangers orchestrated the events of that entire book, and although they controlled the Shadowscythe, they were not of them. (See above points and Mechquest)
5. The Mysterious strangers are older than Erebus, and therefore older than the Shadow Universe. They are older than the Mechquest Universe as well, and given the birth of Valoth's ancestors in Bladehaven, likely come from before that.
6. This means that while they control much of what occurs even between universes (See the Bizarre Flecks Epilogue) they are not part of any species or group.

So, what are they?

Well, we know that they:
1. Are composed of shadow and darkness, the stuff of the cosmic void.
2. Seek to "cleanse" the planet of life and matter.
3. Have a number of agents and avatars, are tall and slim, (the latter being an understatement) and tend to be rather affable.
4. Possess great power.
5. Create elaborate, multiverse spanning plans, using individuals, organizations, and forces ordinarily thought of as impossibly powerful as their tools.

Conclusion:
The Mysterious Stranger is Nyarlathotep. From their goals to their appearance to their demeanor to their inexplicability, they seem to match almost exactly. And they'll be back.

What I was thinking she might do is have an NPC that gives us conspiracy theories as sort of non-canon quests for us to play through.
Kinda like the choose-your-own-adventure style quests that Cysero provides, but different.

Myra -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/5/2013 19:30:15)

@Vere: That would be even cooler, but I would even be happy if it was just funny dialogue.

Also: Look at that, the thread has been FAQed! This makes me more excited than the actual release that's coming today [:)]

deathlord45 -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/5/2013 19:44:56)

This is going to be fun:
1.What if we(the hero) is the true MS. *If you remember the book Pallor had during Frostvale*

2. What if the Hero is the true king of the land.

3. Jaania is actually our many time great aunt.

4. There was never any prophecy.

5. The Hero is in a coma and the entire adventure is just a dream.

Verethragna -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/5/2013 19:52:22)

*Reads Deathlord's post* Prophecy ...

Oh, wait. WAIT.

Our dragon is supposed to destroy the world, and Fluffy was supposed to save it.
TECHNICALLY, Fluffy did save the world by giving us the opening we needed to destroy the SMUDD.
But our dragon has yet to destroy the world, and hasn't even taken any sort of action that could be perceived as an attempt at such.

And as Myra pointed out with her version of the Reptilian Conspiracy, Dragons can assume a humanesque form.
So that general guy. Ankathros ... Whatever his name is. That guy.
That's our Baby Dragon in human form.
Jaania gets the Mana Core.
Baby Dragon steals it.
World Destroyed.

Not as good as my first one ... But I'll allow it.

Question Mark? -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/5/2013 20:52:53)

Technically within the game our character believes that the sheer size of the World Eater Dragon made it planet-esque enough that our dragon's destroying it counted as fulfilling the prophecy.

Warmonger Starsaber -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/5/2013 20:56:13)

Or to go with San's thing, it's Assasins Creed DF style where the Hero is in a device like the Animus, and is Daydreaming in a Coma state that he/she is free, only to awake and fight the Rose from the inside.

Craze -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/5/2013 21:18:45)

The Clawkin only pretend to wander. In truth they are running all around Lore gathering information on all of its towns, settlements, camps, and groups... waiting for the right moment to strike and take over*. Currently The Rose's activities are limiting their mobility, but only slightly. And the Clawkin that The Rose enslave help them find minor threats but it is not enough. They are still out there, watching, waiting...

*Either that or they enjoy interacting with humans and we just attack them assuming they are monsters. But do you really want to take that risk?!

deather98 -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/5/2013 21:48:49)

My theory is as the Rose continues to gain power and betrays trusts of all of lore's citzen's that we take a similar approach that was done in another game called radiata stories where you or another character chose to accept to become nonhuman to protect both the humans and nonhumans to keep the peace. Therefore in our lore we might become halfhuman half a choice of magical species such as dragon/elf/etc/ (prefer atelean (sorry for typo) to stand up to the rose and gain back freedom for all thats been enslaved. Infact unless its a certan blue annoying moglin providing them the chains with a z he is on the run which gives us another ally.

Speaking of which its ironic, we worked so hard to save atrea and now rose is storming them...wish we could fix the teleporter in their city for us to sneak in to help)

Dragonman -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/5/2013 22:07:46)

Here's a pretty simple one. What if Kathool took controlof our minds, and is making us do his bidding by casting illusions everywhere? So instead of imps, we fought villagers, and so forth.

I'll ave more, just a lot of them aren't so great, or need to be elaborated on.

Galez -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/5/2013 22:10:34)

soo we can post any stupid theory in this place?[8|]

okay soo what if the rose was actually didn't exist and the hero is actually dreaming about book 3 while in reality the hero was still frozen

Verethragna -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/5/2013 22:14:59)

@Gamer: Pretty much, but I'd like to see a bit of effort put in and I'm certain that Geo would as well.

BraveSirRobin -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/5/2013 22:23:55)

Aside from my global cat conspiracy theory (I will find you ! ) I think that Rolith was sent by Magus Hansa , who is Lynaria , to disrupt the Rose . The Rose caught on to her magic item smuggling ring and she knows she cant hide forever ! Also Dracelix is Dage's alter ego . From Xan's fortress. From space . Which resulted in and from Wargoth. And Dragonman will help the Cauldron Sisters take over Doomwood . To expand candy which is the new cure to zombies . And is the new most powerful thing instead of hugs . And D00MS will team up with ( encrypted ) and then attack the fortress and then sell the ( encrypted ) and then the ( encrypted and smothered in cheese ) and THEN we'll see how the dragon got on the Gaurdian tower !

Anyway maybe Sek Duat is a wind elf trying to...you know I cant even talk about Sek Duat since I havent played the new quests ! Well I guess I should get to playing them ! I think that Kathool has inherited Wargoths and Konnans conscousnessess and will try to raise Blackberry and cause illusions around Falconreach because of some thing he found in Tethys or some ruins. And the Rose are under and illusion from Alteo-thool.Thats right , Alteon isnt being controlled by the Rose , he's controlling them ! ( I am seriously hoping for a reference to Fahrenheit 451 )

Anyway what if the Clawkin are controlling the forest and the fairies are trying to keep theyre land ? The Archeonauts are trading with both and salvaging and discovering ruins like the merchant from Resident Evil 4 ?

Maybe Trey Surhunter will come back and he survived a zombie apocalypse and ( unimportant story stuff ) Sek Duat 's face will melt off . But seriously I think Trey Surehunter will return . with Ed from Cowboy Bebop.Or Ein.

Anyway I better get to those quests !

Galanoth is also on the run from Vilmor .

@Starsaber That would be scary ! And make sense . I think the game in a game theme would be good too.Like the character finding the coders or himself or the script and quests being made.

superbat67 -> RE: Book Three Conspiracy Theories Thread (4/5/2013 22:25:29)

What if Xan had a master that trained him in the arts of pyromancy. Xan couldn't just of learned all his fire powers by himself. What if he had a master which is coincidentally the pyromancer barber's master. He trained him in the arts of fire and taught xan how to become peaceful. ( remembering the "good times he had with jania). He was training to control true power of pyromancy ( power of fire that rivals NOT EXCEEDS the fire elemental lord). But his training with his master stopped after seppy came.... seppy killed his master with his almighty NSOD and Xan's master actually worked for seppy but rebelled against him when he couldnt bring himself to destroy his village that had necrotic sources to help seppy one step closer to perfection. Xan was outraged but Seppy simply swatted Xan with one mighty blow. Seppy was interest with Xan so he offered a YOUNG Xan power to join his ranks. Xan's rage plus his power hunger agreed to join seppy. Then the duo of Seppy and Xan BEGUN
