Patch Notes - 1.5.12
NEW CHANGES/FEATURES:

  • The Arborgeddon Event has begun! Collect spores by winning PvP battles to cure infected citizens of Delta V, and help purify the air to combat Davaril's corrupted spores!
  • Cinderella in the Biodome has a limited number of Botanical shotguns with Spreadfire on them, but you'll have to give her the spores she needs first!
  • 6 new cores are available:
    • Frost Shards (Primary active) - Fires a barrage of icicles, dealing energy damage and draining your enemy's energy for several turns.
    • Aim Assist (Gun/Aux passive) - Reduces the chance for your weapon's attack to be deflected
    • Laser Sights (Gun/Aux passive) - Increases damage when your weapon's attack is deflected
    • Overshield (Armor passive) - Further reduces damage when you deflect an attack
  • 6 new botanical-themed hairstyles
  • 9 new botanical home items

BALANCE CHANGES:

Assimilation
Since Assimilation's effect is now unblockable, we took a little of the base power off of the skill.
  • Lowered base energy steal to 3-13 from 3-15

BUGS FIXED:
  • Fixed an issue with Last Active Date in the Faction manager
  • Azrael promo weapons now sellable
  • Botanical Battle Suit now marked as a Promo in the Item Finder
  • Marauder's "Chomp" mission was missing the description
  • Low level players could encounter a client hang when re-opening the What's New page

Only luck cores here are on Gun and Aux, but they reduce the chance to get deflected rather than increase it. Whilst others (Overshield/Laser Sight) either reduce or improve the impact of such effects & both cancel each other out.

Anyone else feel the Recyclage of Cores with just different names or on different weapons...

I only see 4 new cores, not 6

I slapped Aim Assist on my Aux, replaced from Auxiliary Mastery. Personally I think it was a wise choice. Now time to get a huntin'!

2 reuses don't really count as New though...

anyway, do any of the Hazards, the one within level range, drop spores?
I don't want to be active in the unbalanced pvp world and would rather
just farm the electro hazard... Same amount of luck needed, no detection of being active
and lesser rewards so it would be ok in my book...

These are not legitimate "lucky cores". If it was a legit lucky core, it would increase or create the chance to make something happen. There are unlucky cores that reverse the effects of luck, and luck bonuses (like the reduced Deflection damage) that change what happens during a lucky event without furthering the randomness of the event. These are lucky (based on luck) but do not accumulate with the probabilities that we have.

No nerf to either TLMs nor focus.

Great job balance team, youre only causing ppl to quit this game by not doing anything at the imbalance.

They are also causing people to leave everytime they nerf a build as well. The more they nerf the less we have to use. It would be much better if they just buff up the other builds some instead of nerfing the most popular build.

Cause all they are basically doing is punishing everyone for adapting after each nerf.

rabble is the ones making changes. (i learned this recently)

the balance team only tests these changes.

Balance "team" has quite literally no say whatseoever in changes. This was worded poorly and did not get my point across correctly.


Even if they provide data that shows imbalance, titan and rabble are both capable of vetoing it (and from the sounds of it, they do so very often).

I wouldn't even call it a balance team. It's a balancer, a testing team, and then the devs who can veto anything they wish regardless.
This game will continue dying until they have a dedicated balancer, instead of just throwing a random programmer at it.

Theres a reason balance in other games is handled by balancers and mechanic designers, and if they program that's on the side. Not the other way around.

The way I talk sometimes comes off this way, even when I'm trying to be completely open about things. If you have specific questions, I'd be more than happy to talk about them.

I took on the role because I enjoy the sorts of mechanical problem solving and design mindset that it requires. Because of the small nature of our team, we don't each fulfill one individual role. We wear many hats and indeed are better off for it, in my opinion.

Being formally trained as a programmer does not disqualify one from being able to fill other roles. Many lead designers, project managers, etc. start out in all sorts of disciplines.

I've only gotten one so far too, out of 40+ fights. :(
