Maybe it's just me, but I always like to at least attempt to give alot of my characters some kind of edge or like make them not the best people. *isn't sure I've said this before or not* Really, the thing is, if your character is just painted as pure good and infowlable or something, then we practically know they're going to be alright in the end. You kind-of want to make it uncertain if they're going to survive the RP or not. That probably doesn't make a huge load of sense, but you sort-of get the idea. I want there to be kind-of like a reason someone would want to hurt then while still having them act in the way they think would be right most of the time. It's like there has to be some way for people to have conflicts with your character over thier beliefs or something they did in the past. Maybe they're just occasionally a jerk or something. It's not really a requirement by any means, but it really helps develoupment. And something I want to make clear: I don't mean just making your character a generic murderer or something. I've heard of a character before who was in one of my RPs that needed to absorb souls to stay alive. He was discribed as having claws that were always coated in blood and was usually like a gory mess from killing people.... I mean, the RP never took off, but really? The people who just don't read the bios are going to just allow this guy into thier group and the ones who actually read bios will just take one look at this guy and be like "Really?" You can take one look at this guy and tell he's a psychopath, why would you want to talk to him? That's the type of character you could get away with metagaming stuff about through rumor because people are going to be talking about someone like that. I mean, really.... You're not getting anywhere looking like the avenging ghost of Sweeny Todd. Just going to kind-of cut this rant short for now.... But hopefully someone gets some kind of point out of this because I'm not even 100% sure what I'm even talking about. Uhh... if you see a character that looks like the walking incarnation of Death itself, be prepared for crap to go down. Even if he's not going to do anything, it's always good to assume they will. And then you at least get some develoupment out of it.... If you think you want to make a character that looks like Death itself........ Well, be prepared.
