Solargeo -> RE: =DF= Guardian Discussion Thread (5/5/2015 9:44:43)

I want the 1% chance instant kill . wan to try kill not killable enemys with it. what if we do have that happen ? would that mean stuff has to change because of the win?
Also my curse of overactive imagination is acting up because of the DF team tell them I said thanks for the distraction from boredom.

Any update on using Time Core Edge's element changing with Guardian? If it's not much of a problem or anything.

I was at the lab all yesterday, without being able to work on it, so I'm working on the art stuff, that included, today.

If it somehow went off on a "you're supposed to lose this fight" it would still trigger the "you lost" scene because that's all that's there to play. It doesn't make them "lose" in terms of the story though, you still lost in that case.

Brasca123 -> RE: =DF= Guardian Discussion Thread (5/5/2015 9:46:12)

i'd prefer if the PWD thing was kept, i guess no one minds the big range as long as we retain the 1% PWD chance xD

Solargeo -> RE: =DF= Guardian Discussion Thread (5/5/2015 9:46:50)

SO ash the upside down and sideways and such specials weapon effects like the Sword of Destiny will be fixed?

DarkDevil -> RE: =DF= Guardian Discussion Thread (5/5/2015 10:02:12)

well, it was worth a shot [8|]

quote:

it's meant to be a quick filler if you need it

my first point was that it was never needed.
so it was neither Mp effecient nor spamable, cus it isn't turn efficient either.
I just wanted anything out of it [&o]

but in the end it doesn't matter, the other 13 skills can loop perfectly.

Ps: I am not very familiar with df engine and how it stacks but 145/120 = 1.2, if you use attack as the baseline 100% it'd be worth 120% of the normal attack.

LouisCyphere -> RE: =DF= Guardian Discussion Thread (5/5/2015 10:04:06)

Well, the purpose of the ray of light is kind of similar to DK's summon minion skill. A filler skill.

Shadows Morgenstern -> RE: =DF= Guardian Discussion Thread (5/5/2015 10:08:25)

So after playing around with the new Guardian...I can now say it's now one of my favourite classes in game! It's pretty strong and good at surviving...all the skills have a use...it looks freaking SWEET (Just wish the white cloth was cc...though am getting fast used to it). I think Cronix and Ash did a really great job on it! Thanks guys! :D *continues to powerwalk/strut everywhere*

Solargeo -> RE: =DF= Guardian Discussion Thread (5/5/2015 10:09:10)

the healing skill could be better though.

Mystical Warrior -> RE: =DF= Guardian Discussion Thread (5/5/2015 10:21:55)

@Solargeo The healing skill is fine as it is, also almost all skills of the same effect heals the same amount. The class is meant to be a Hybrid, so its heal isn't specialized in sole healing. So healing 10% of your HP while doing damage is already good.

Ash -> RE: =DF= Guardian Discussion Thread (5/5/2015 10:22:45)

DF uses Boost in its calculations. 1 point of Boost is 1% more damage. In this case base attack is +20% and Ray is +45%, leaving a 25% damage gap between them. You can divide it like that if you want, but that's why your math isn't adding up. Boost is far easier to calculate in terms of getting damage ranges for skills. The only types of effects that would work on are DoT's in which they use Min / (number) and Max / (number) to get their ranges.

DarkLore -> RE: =DF= Guardian Discussion Thread (5/5/2015 10:39:51)

Ash, will the guardian Items be added This Friday if the class is finalized for live play?

Ash -> RE: =DF= Guardian Discussion Thread (5/5/2015 10:45:06)

Classes stay up for 2 weeks of testing. It will only have been 1.

Mystical Warrior -> RE: =DF= Guardian Discussion Thread (5/5/2015 10:47:23)

@Ash Also just a query, will the Guardian Helm and Capes be DC? or will it have like Gold versions that's available to Guardian-Verified players? If it will, maybe put it in the same shop as the Guardian Blade to make things easier

Ash -> RE: =DF= Guardian Discussion Thread (5/5/2015 10:52:04)

It'll all be for gold. I'm not going to go the DC route on these as you already had to pay real money to get the class in the first place. I was kinda wanting you to only unlock them after you finish training but I guess putting it all in that shop would work.

Shadows Morgenstern -> RE: =DF= Guardian Discussion Thread (5/5/2015 10:57:45)

Only unlocking them after finish training? Kind of assumed that's what would happen anyway...it makes sense.

Mystical Warrior -> RE: =DF= Guardian Discussion Thread (5/5/2015 10:58:06)

@Ash That is good news indeed, can't wait for the live release of the class and its accessory counterparts. Also one last question if you don't mind, will the helm and cape be CC also? Although either way its all good.

megakyle777 -> RE: =DF= Guardian Discussion Thread (5/5/2015 10:59:13)

Ash, if I may ask, is it true you are planning on adding stable ranges to the new art blades? May I ask why? Personally, I like the idea of them having a large damage range. It's one of the few that does. (Far as I'm aware)

Ash -> RE: =DF= Guardian Discussion Thread (5/5/2015 10:59:29)

The helms should be to match the armor itself. The trim on the cape should be to match the cloth parts on the armor. If we ever get an "accessory" color the cloth and the cape would be updated to match that selection. No idea if that will ever happen though.

There's going to be two versions of the weapon in the shop. One, with the old art, that has the old random ranges. The NEW art will be a totally new item with static ranges so that you can choose which type of range you want. I wanted there to be options and since this class already had the weapons I can give a second option now.

LouisCyphere -> RE: =DF= Guardian Discussion Thread (5/5/2015 11:00:46)

What if when using the Guardian Rage skill there would be pop-ups/chatbox from the character similar to the Warrior class's war cry skill? just a thought.

megakyle777 -> RE: =DF= Guardian Discussion Thread (5/5/2015 11:06:22)

Ash, I know this'd be doubling your work, but would it be possible to add Old Stable Art And New Unstable Art too so you can pick which art AND which range?

Also, just want to say you are doing a great job, and I know it must be annoying putting up with us sometimes but we really do appreciate all your work. [;)]

...Even if people like me ask the above and start cracking the whip going MORE! NOT GOOD ENOUGH!"[:D]

Like to give something related to that element like, "BY FIRE BE BURNED!" or something?

megakyle777 - Maybe. It all depends on how sparkly I'm feeling to do 3 sets of weapons along with all the helms and capes at that point.

Mystical Warrior -> RE: =DF= Guardian Discussion Thread (5/5/2015 11:10:01)

@Ash that would be interesting but a bit tedious to do, although we would be satisfied (at least I am) with simple and witty catch phrases.

LouisCyphere -> RE: =DF= Guardian Discussion Thread (5/5/2015 11:12:05)

You can do that? Link certain pop-ups to elements. That would be awesome! All while strutting towards the enemy like a boss.

Solargeo -> RE: =DF= Guardian Discussion Thread (5/5/2015 11:14:54)

I agree that would be funny. Bacon could be FOR BACON!

You'll need to go into more detail than that because upside down could mean one of a hundred things.

When I got on the griffon heading to the PvP arena the character was upsidedown and continued to be for the remainder of the time regardless of where I was. Once I logged out and logged in again it was fine but I didn't try equiping the armor.

It seems fine today though.
