y dont you understand? what im saying is that it makes the clas BALANCED. do you understand? it isnt op. if you cant defeat a merc, then wow ur build must be bad. they are easily beaten. NO NERF NEEDED.

if you nerf the only move that makes them balanced, your gonna have to make the class more balanced without static smash. it is static smash reliant.

some ideas for a buff if static gets nerfed:

buff hybrid up to 7 points in defence and resistance. make its requiremnt 34 dex and tec at max.

swap surgicals place with adrenalines place.

buff double strike and zerker by 10%.

give merc a shield move to swap with static smash(give it tecnitian)

and nerf bunker cost by 2.

as you can realise, this will make merc more like the old merc. if you dont want then to get a general buff to all their moves, dont nerf static smash.

Didn't you see what Mother1 posted?

Just because most of the mercs skill tree is too energy reliant does not mean there should be an OP energy gaining move.
Rather than having static stay the same, a balance in some other skills, and slightly lessen the effect of static smash would make mercs more balanced

In no way would this make merc UP.

Also, your suggest to buff all their moves and not nerf static smash...
If all of the mercs skills are buffed by damage and defense they will be to strong

well im saying if they take static away. @lionblades i think you read my post wrong. take a few minutes to read it and reflect on it. then maybe you will understand. the fact that debuffs overpower merc is enough to say they arent op. if they are op you would see them everywhere kicking butt in 1v1. do you see that? no. if merc needs a nerf, so do offensive debuffs like smoke. also bm with deadly aim and bludgeon.

Lvl 1: 43% -> 35%
Lvl 10: 73% -> 65%

We can bump it down by 8%, so 35% - 65% or we could leave % as they are - since it still drains Energy which is also what it should do, and lower the % return from 75% to somewhere around 55-60%.

The latter would make EP drain the same but return would be weakened which could partially defeat the purpose of the change, whilst the former one would lower everything but not by a big amount which is enough to compensate for the fact it costs no EP to use and returns Energy to you.

Static Smash does not need a major nerf and neither do the skills need a buff. Smash needs a minor change to make it less abuseable without nerfing it too much. We're looking at a small change. Even if it may be difference of say 2 EP less drained, you do have to account for multiple uses - use it thrice in a battle and it's 6 EP which can make a difference, whether it's returned to you or drained from the enemy.

If you nerf the % drained, you nerf the regained one too... People are finding an issue with EP returned so why nerf the drain and then buff the return? You'd be ending at the square one but weaker drain. :|

primary damage: 56

75% of 56=42

75% of 42=31.5(rounded to 32)

primary damage: 56

68% of 56=38.08

82% of 38.08= 31.2256(rounded down to 31)

not back at square 1, because the energy regain is weaker, as is the ammount taken from them.

Well you guys complained that Merc is absolutelly under powered, and you wanted a buff. And after a 1-2 weeks it came that static smasher. after another 1-2 weeks : WHAAATTT? Too op!!! nerf it
Cmon , i`m just laughing at you guys, how you guys just say nerf/buff...
Some people, are just = nerf buff nerf buff nerf buff... it cantt be like this. and its just stupid when the same people say * buff the class * and the other 1 week they say * nerf it *

But yeah, i agree with like 5-8% Lowering on the static. Very good idea, i support that but i dont agree with that i wrote above ^

He is saying that everyone wanted merc to get a buff for the longest so they could compete. then they get static smash but the move is working on the same level as atom smasher and at the max level atom smasher takes a lot of energy meaning it will return a lot of energy. The move itself is too strong is what everyone is saying not the class.

but everyone agrees, the class on its own is weak? ooh, you gave me an idea! lets buff some of mercs current moves and nerf static! maybe just change hybrid requirement to tec and dex(34 of each at max) and give double strike a small buff cos it is weaker than blugeon, but costs more energy.

ik. but as you can probably see( see? read i mean) loadsa ppl are complaining about static smash, which mercs rely on. if you can nerf a class cos it has 1 slightly strong move(but the rest of the class is really weak compared to others) you can buff moves apart from that 1 move. and stop using smileys every post(pls dont take offence, it is just quite annoying).

although that seems to be a good reason, im not an e-bully. i just though u were against me. forgive me for wanting to post before i went to pee. i read it too quick.

and also we need to nerf 10% off static smash but return that power into mercs other skills. if ever you get a pyro fly special used on you and it takes away static smash, you will probably lose. it relies on ONE move. that should NEVER happen. it also like a cyber hunter in delta. relied on static smash. if they didnt hav a massacre build(OP at that time) and their static charge got taken away they would lose. relying on 1 skill is bad. nerfing static smash 10% and returning that power into other skills is a good idea.

Reason : It's silly for mercenaries that are pure caster to max this skill, blast you with a bunker cannon, then steal a chunk of your energy without you being able to do anything about it. It puts mercenaries on the same annoyance level as tact mercs.

I support the nerf because many people do say it is op and i agree with them BUT not a huge nerf.
