It's a pretty good general use armor, I'd say it fills a niche between Paladin and Ninja, so use it in situations where you need a certain level of sustained dps and healing. Hope this helps [:)]

@Moe the class itself is decent for long quests and for bosses that allow you to stack some DoTs on them, plus if you think you might need the "rebirth" skill to reset yourself mid-fight.

zzzzmochi -> RE: =DF= Pyromancer Discussion Thread (8/10/2019 14:47:58)

Hello, I recently came back to play this game again after a long time and I notice that Pyromancer feels much weaker with all the class revamps. I have been a fan of Pyromancer and I am sad to see that it does not do as much compared to other classes. Despite being a defensive and DoT oriented class, it does not have much to offer. For instance, the three healing spells. It's main healing spell heals only 300% of your weapon damage and has a very long cool down. The strongest healing is a full heal which realistically speaking, can only be used once. The other one heals 100% of your weapon damage but it is mainly used offensively so I would not even include it as a healing spell.

It has three other defensive options: shield, blind and boost down. The shield is not bad honestly. It is the most reliable one out of the three. The blind is quite low at -40 bonus and has a long cool down. Blaze blue is not too bad but it feels much weaker due to its skillset.

The most iconic part is the DoT skills which is quite disappointing nowadays. Many other classes offer many DoT options. Death knight has a HoT and a DoT spell combined into one which has a cool down as long as Pyro's main healing ability. It also has a similar DoT but it does more direct damage. Not to mention, better final attack. Pyromancer DoT spells around 140-160(level 85) and about 45 damage DoT (5 ticks, 225 damage in total). It looks plentiful as its average damage is around 150+225 but it does not have much more offensive option outside the the DoT spells.

The other iconic trait about Pyro is its double stun. Sadly, Soulweaver has two stuns as well and a much better DoT (imo).

The Phoenix(Pyro's final attack) is extremely weak and it is almost not worth using this from my experience.

Enkindle is another useless skill. Its damage comes mainly from DoT and the damage boost does not help with the class in any way. Malcifier is basically that but at least it does damage and also gives you a power boost.

For a class that should excel in long battles is not doing it well on my opinion. I tried the undead challenge with only my Dragon pet equipped as I could not invite any guest due to a bug I believe. Needless to say I died while only managing to deal half of one of the bosses' health due to its terrible damage and defensive capabilities. Then, I tried Kathool Adept which I believe is mainly for cheesing some bosses and farming and beat it with only Dragon equipped as well. I only used the ultimate skill once(kathool). I rotated between shield/blind and mainly used Mad+ basic attack as I forgot to change my stats(200 INT 200 CHA 10 LUK, I did not add the rest of the stats). It out damage pyro as I only need to score a few critical hits which is actually sad.

I would like to propose a few buffs for Pyromancer if it is possible. For one, many class are starting to have passive skills(necromancer, death knight, Atealan classes, yadda, yadda). I believe it needs one too. A permanent fire DoT that heals you for 100% of the damage dealt. The damage would be your level divided by two and rounded down(42 at level 85).

Secondly, the final skill. It could instead apply a 50% weapon damage DoT x the number of DoTs you have inflicted on the target(150% weapon damage)

Blind could just be upped to -50 from -40 to keep up with the other classes. Nowadays, bosses have about 15 bonus and I rarely miss with the -40 bonus.

Warmth healing is rather low and could use a buff. I believe the healing can be increased to 400% weapon damage and lowers your other skills cool down by 4(halved for shield/blind and stuns). The cool down of this could be lowered to 12 too.

Also, I believe Pyromancer should consume more mana after some buffs to compensate.

The numbers might seem too much but it is just a suggestion. It can be tuned down anyway. I hope some of the buffs would be considered as Pyromancer has not been touched besides and indirect nerf and a buff on the shield due to a consistency update I believe(i am not too sure about this).

I apologise for this long post.

Thank you

With this new Pyromancer rework, should I invest in DEX and INT? Or only invest in 1 of the 2 and use the rest of the stat points for END since mainly I am using Pyromancer at the Inn?

TFS -> RE: =DF= Pyromancer Discussion Thread (8/9/2020 20:40:14)

^At level 90, just investing 200 INT will give you more damage than 122 INT / 122 DEX, as the additional crit modifier will outweigh the additional 10% total bonus damage. Splitting between INT and DEX is only preferable if you aren't investing in END, or if you're not at the level cap and can't easily allocate 200 points to multiple stats.

Thanks for the info.

Does this also account for the additional DOT damage DEX would give?

Primate Murder -> RE: =DF= Pyromancer Discussion Thread (8/9/2020 23:12:54)

Dex no longer gives DoT damage. Instead it gives +3*(DEX/80)% damage against monsters inflicted with DoTs (so +4.575% damage at 122 Dex).

Another reason 200 INT is better is because you'll have 8 more base damage ;)
