Xx. Christian .xX -> RE: Increase in stuns and blocks? (1/5/2014 22:22:20)

This might be really luck.. But i just stunned someone with PLASMA GRENADE and then stun him again with my 5% STUN CANNON and then stun him again with 3% AUXILIARY.... then stun him again with PLASMA GRENADE... he was stunned for like 4 rounds.... He got 97 support while i have 75 support.

Pemberton -> RE: Increase in stuns and blocks? (1/5/2014 22:23:06)

With the current game mechanics, the only way lower levels and non BH non TM can beat BH and TM is by some luck.

Jekyll -> RE: Increase in stuns and blocks? (1/5/2014 22:23:52)

^But when you get lucky they get angry.

GearzHeadz -> RE: Increase in stuns and blocks? (1/5/2014 22:24:32)

Or if the BH or TM are not using the OP builds. I choose not to use the OP BH builds and I lose often because of it.

Hun Kingq -> RE: Increase in stuns and blocks? (1/5/2014 23:22:23)

Today I barely stunned anyone that had lower support and the stun guns was basically just guns and the chance of stun from the aux was no chance at all but the ones with lower support not only went first but I was stunned by them more often.

ValkyrieKnight -> RE: Increase in stuns and blocks? (1/6/2014 0:32:26)

I'd like to know how much more stats grants how much stunt resist it gives. I have been stunned far too often lately. Even by the stupid 3% Aux core. Getting really ridiculous.

Jekyll -> RE: Increase in stuns and blocks? (1/6/2014 7:19:32)

Out of all types of stuns, I have been stunned 6 times in the past 8 attempts, 3 of which caused losses.

zion -> RE: Increase in stuns and blocks? (1/6/2014 9:54:43)

You don't remember when you weren't stunned 10 times in a row.
You don't remember when you weren't blocked 10 times in a row.
You don't remember when you weren't deflected 10 times in a row.
etc.
etc.

GearzHeadz -> RE: Increase in stuns and blocks? (1/6/2014 9:57:46)

Because that's never happened. :P

martinsen5 -> RE: Increase in stuns and blocks? (1/6/2014 9:58:20)

@Zion, Very true! Then again, threads like these aren't made unless the players actually notice a sudden difference.

GearzHeadz -> RE: Increase in stuns and blocks? (1/6/2014 9:59:50)

I'd be more surprised if some used 10 stun moves in a game. Or 10 deflect able moves. Even 10 block able moves is a still high amount if moves.

zion -> RE: Increase in stuns and blocks? (1/6/2014 10:19:33)

Yet somehow people can remember the outcome of these chance events over a course of many battles when it goes against them.

BTW why not set up your own testing by challenging each other with specific stats/moves and see if it adds up?

Jekyll -> RE: Increase in stuns and blocks? (1/6/2014 10:22:20)

You see, the issue here is not about players realising how lucky they have been by avoiding "unlucky" events. The crux is that there has been a noticeable spike in such events.

It was the forums which alerted me to start tracking these numbers. I normally do not bother with them, but now they have become significant.

zion -> RE: Increase in stuns and blocks? (1/6/2014 11:07:10)

I disagree.
Unless people do series of 100s of challenge battles and measure the outcomes against the expected outcomes, there is no problem.
The issue is that there is an inherent bias when "tracking" events during battle based on frustration, anger, etc.
If people feel there is truly an issue with the game engine, then please do us all a favor and do a semi-scientific study: challenge battles.
This is easy to do since challenge battles can be set up against chars with predetermined stats and cores... and since challenge battles don't count, nobody will lose anything.
Until anyone does anything remotely close to this, it just comes across as whining/complaining... my $0.02

lionblades -> RE: Increase in stuns and blocks? (1/6/2014 14:17:53)

It's because all stats are similar (copy builds...), Omega battle mechanics, and the fact that in Delta enhancements for varium players boosted there own luck chance. Delta varium players are used to less luck affecting them than in Omega right now.

Also "psychologically" it is easier to remember what happened to you than what happened to the opponent.

For example: You get a block against a dex spamming TM...you forget about it the next couple of battles
However, if you get blocked by a person with lower dex the odds are your are likely to remember this more.

Hun Kingq -> RE: Increase in stuns and blocks? (1/6/2014 20:16:27)

Level 1 PLASMA GRENADE and level 1 stun grenade with low support stuns more often than any other stun skills at max with higher support.

Dual Thrusters -> RE: Increase in stuns and blocks? (1/6/2014 20:18:29)

@Hun

Doesn't lvl 10 Maul have the highest stun chance?

GearzHeadz -> RE: Increase in stuns and blocks? (1/6/2014 20:27:50)

Yeah. Where is the proof behind that? While on the subject of plasma and stun grenades though, look at this thread to show how similar they are, yet plasma grenade is so under powered in comparison for absolutely no reason. Clicky.

Dual Thrusters -> RE: Increase in stuns and blocks? (1/6/2014 20:55:04)

I just made a build where I put almost all my stats into Tech, and grab a level 10 Plasma Grenade.

I gotta say, my strikes are doing about as much damage as it -.-

Jekyll -> RE: Increase in stuns and blocks? (1/6/2014 21:03:46)

I believe this noticeable change in luck is not fabricated by anyone. Being a player with plenty of experience under my belt, I can support the argument that some numbers are possibly wrong.

Having played so many battles, my intuition tells me that something has changed; as many others here have recognised as well. I seriously doubt that this is just another whine thread, but something far more urgent. Stuns have been rampant in ED recently, bringing back to life the Stun cores in guns and auxiliaries.

Fortunately, the people who have biased views on luck are kept far away. Some level 40 TM (with 30 less dex) got blocked by me, and said "I hate it when noobs pull that kind of luck... gg nub"

zion -> RE: Increase in stuns and blocks? (1/7/2014 8:57:54)

Nobody is accusing anyone of fabricating anything. The fact is a person will have a natural bias to remember the negative occurrences... As a veteran of these forums I'm sure you know that these topics come up often without any tangible proof. Why not arrange with a friend to do some challenge battles and collect actual data?

LatinLover/Martini -> RE: Increase in stuns and blocks? (1/7/2014 10:59:13)

Id like to remind everyone that just because you have low support doesnt mean your ALWAYS GUNNA GET CRITTED. I wanna remind you that the majority of these stuns are coming from weapons with less then 7% of stunning but when you use Overload or any energy sucking move the stun usually doesnt work.

GearzHeadz -> RE: Increase in stuns and blocks? (1/7/2014 11:49:46)

Well, I fought armor hazard yesterday and got 3 stuns with my aux and 2 with my stun cannon. Two of the aux stuns were back to back. As soon as the cool down was over, I used it and stunned again.

Mother1 -> RE: Increase in stuns and blocks? (1/7/2014 12:53:41)

I think the factors are bugged. I was playing 2 vs 2 with a level 32 partner against a 37 and 38. We took out the level 38 quickly due to me and my partner having a build advantage over him, and to add injury to insult on them my partner used stun aux which actually gave the stun effect, I passed my turn so my opponent would get skipped, then my partner used a stun grenade causing a second stun right there an then.

Warrant the level 38 have base support but my partner's support wasn't all that much higher either.

Needless to say that level 38 was throwing a hissy fit over luck being overpowered and how he wanted it removed from the game.

zion -> RE: Increase in stuns and blocks? (1/7/2014 15:40:12)

I run an overload build and "feel" like I don't get enough stuns...
Not only can you flip a heads 10 time in a row, that's the trial you'll remember.
If the forumites just organized and did a lot of challenge battles, you could produce statistical proofs for your feelings.
