Slow but steady....

Added some more to my bio, hopefully'll finish this weekend. I'll repost it when I'm done.

Starstruck -> RE: Isle of Dracos - OOC (2/27/2014 22:45:39)

I just added a segment that said "this is grown up Claudius." Baby Claudius is a snake that can grow legs right now, and he'll develop to the full description as the RP progresses.

TJByrum -> RE: Isle of Dracos - OOC (2/28/2014 21:50:17)

I'll read Kellehendros' post sometime soon. I thought I'd share something though:

I have a lot of little snippets written in Wordpad on my computer. It's dialogue, explanations, ideas, conversations, and events that I may or may not use in the RP. Everytime I get an idea, I write it out and when I get ready to write something I always look back there for reference to see if any of my ideas are worth putting down.

The Jorn-Kaila-Kyoshi storyline will continue on throughout the RP, but you'll also be seeing some side-stories about people such as Commodore Renan, Sir Rune, and others. Jorn and Kaila, and Kyoshi, will mostly fill in some events, details, and insight into the world, but will eventually end up interacting with some of you guys, possibly even fighting for you. There's a lot of mystery surrounding Kaila and Jorn and there stuff may seem complicated, but it'll get explained throughout the RP. for example, why do you think Jorn can fight so good, being as young as he is?

Riprose123 -> RE: Isle of Dracos - OOC (3/3/2014 22:00:41)

Hrmm...

I hate asking this, but I've hit a wall while writing this bio. I know the character well enough, but the bio just refuses to be written, and I'd hate to force it. Like I said, I hate to ask, but would it be okay if I posted my intro and finished my bio later on?

Starstruck -> RE: Isle of Dracos - OOC (3/3/2014 22:40:48)

Friendly reminder to locally save your posts in threads that are not stickied.

TJByrum -> RE: Isle of Dracos - OOC (3/4/2014 8:13:37)

@Riprose: Oof... um... sure...? Yeah, that should be okay, but I might still want you to change the bio once you finish it. Just remember that while writing, your dragon is very young.

@Starstruck: Thanks for that, will do.

Kellehendros -> RE: Isle of Dracos - OOC (3/13/2014 19:26:41)

The worst part is the waiting.

Starstruck -> RE: Isle of Dracos - OOC (3/13/2014 20:39:57)

I'm tryiiiing.

I want to respond to Kell's actions but I'm having difficulty fitting that into a reasonable timeline. I might end up just scrapping that idea altogether but I want to give it a fair chance.

Don't provoke the Crag D:<

Riprose123 -> RE: Isle of Dracos - OOC (3/13/2014 21:41:06)

My house is very loud. I don't usually have the right amount of concentration to write until late at night, and I'm a little bit of a perfectionist when it comes to first posts. It's about 2/3rds done, and involves a lot of rain, flashbacks, and the love of brothers. :3

Kellehendros -> RE: Isle of Dracos - OOC (3/14/2014 7:26:35)

I'm not sure what there is to respond to, nothing has actually happened yet.

TJByrum -> RE: Isle of Dracos - OOC (3/15/2014 10:17:29)

I'm waiting for everyone to post their 'introductions' before everyone actually arrives at the Keep. That's where the actual conflict and player interaction will begin. But first, everyone needs to post their introduction.

Also, you guys are quite a ways away from one another, so you can't really respond to anything at the moment.

On a side note, a family member has died and I'll be at the gathering for a few hours today.

Starstruck -> RE: Isle of Dracos - OOC (3/15/2014 17:10:01)

My condolences to you, TJByrum. Loss is very hard to take sometimes.

I hope you feel better soon.

black knight 1234567 -> RE: Isle of Dracos - OOC (3/22/2014 6:46:09)

Damn man, that's just terrible. Hope you and all your family members pull through it, condolences.
Also, I was away from the internet for like a month, so i'll get my gears working ASAP for this RP. Sorry folks.

TJByrum -> RE: Isle of Dracos - OOC (3/22/2014 9:12:00)

Yeah I just saw some threads you posted in and I was like "BK must've gotten back".

black knight 1234567 -> RE: Isle of Dracos - OOC (3/24/2014 12:43:53)

Waiting on Dracyos before I make my first post, to co-ordinate things.
Hopefully we can get this rolling soon enough, RP sections needs some life.

TJByrum -> RE: Isle of Dracos - OOC (3/24/2014 16:27:01)

These RP boards have a long way to go to get back to 'normalcy'.

Master K -> RE: Isle of Dracos - OOC (4/6/2014 22:26:11)

Man, we haven't even gotten past the introductions yet...

I hope this RP kicks into some sort of gear eventually. It has a lot of potential and it would be a shame to see it go to waste.

TJByrum -> RE: Isle of Dracos - OOC (4/14/2014 18:54:37)

Okay, everybody let's gather 'round, for those of who are left, and have a talk.

I had great plans for the RP and I would have loved to keep going. Unfortunately, due to inactivity and other reasons, I don't feel I can obligate myself to this RP any longer. I am sorry for 'canceling' this RP guys, but I look foward to a more active future some day, this RP is officially closed... or it will be once it gets locked.

If you're interested in knowing how the RP would have unfolded:

You guys would have fought in a terrible war against each other for the throne. Meanwhile, Jorn and Kaila would have traveled across the land, fighting for some of you, and changing the course of the war. Kaila's bag she was carrying around was holding the missing dragon egg (the Kalzar egg), which I am sure you all guessed. Kaila was indeed the last Kalzar, and when Jorn discovered this he was going to try his best to twist things in the war and ultimately push her into being the queen.

Jorn himself was actually the last remaining ancestor of Dracos, the First King of the Isle. His blood is the same as that of a dragonrider, and the sudden 'rebirth' of the dragons began to give him extraordinary powers. Being so close to the dragon egg that Kaila carried would have made him nearly unstoppable. Jorn himself did not strive to rule the kingdom that his great forefather helped create (Dracos), and would have instead simply assisted Kaila in her rule. In this sense, now both of the 'ruling families' would have ruled together (Dracos' line and the Kalzar line).

I was experimenting with several outcomes though:
-Jorn and Kaila get married, have a son, and now the Dracos-Kalzar bloodline is official.
-Kaila would have grown increasingly savage as she was exposed to violence and war, so much to the point that Jorn realized she would be a tyrant and would be forced to reluctantly kill her, and then probably take her place or one of your characters would take her place.

Also, several of your friends/family would have been murdered by the Red Assassins.

Now, dragons. Each dragon would have grown to massive size, their owners (you) would have become the new dragonriders. The Red Assassins obtained the other dragon egg, and this particular dragon would have grown as a fierce and powerful adversary, probably killing one of your dragons (!).

I had a lot of other plans, but they never materialized, they were but thoughts in my head.

Kellehendros -> RE: Isle of Dracos - OOC (4/14/2014 20:07:43)

Unfortunate, I was looking forward to crushing all of you. :p

Well, these things happen. It's a shame we never got momentum going for this. I'll see you guys around.

Starstruck -> RE: Isle of Dracos - OOC (4/15/2014 0:13:09)

A shame. I rather liked my character.

Legendium -> RE: Isle of Dracos - OOC (4/15/2014 4:07:14)

And another RP falls before truly starting. Well, looks like I also lost one of my characters for Aurora.

I actually had three cultures built up around the character I was planning for this RP, so really, what a shame.

Also, told you so. Continuously coming up with new ideas will make you forget about whichever current one you are pursuing.

TJByrum -> RE: Isle of Dracos - OOC (4/15/2014 9:24:13)

I'd have loved to carry this RP on you guys, but there are only 3 posts in the IC, and the last post was in February. With the general lack of activity in these boards, I didn't see this RP going anywhere. I apologize, I really do, but I decided I ought to just cut all ties with RPing here for now. It became somewhat of a bore coming here everyday to check how the RP was doing, especially when it wasn't doing anything.

Master K -> RE: Isle of Dracos - OOC (4/15/2014 13:55:50)

What a shame. I was coming to like my characters...even the fortress maids I had planned out.

quote:

Also, several of your friends/family would have been murdered by the Red Assassins.

Knowing this, Annette and Demura would've been the two prime targets to assassinate that were not family. Annette would have had a strong impact, basically being the mother of the household. Demura would've been another two, as she would've been shrinking violet-type character. I don't know what impacts that would've happened if the children had died.

I would've had the family degrade as time went by. Master K would become increasingly paranoid, with Aragon trying to manage him. Jet would become the father of the household, putting more strain on him then usual, as well as complying to the commands of his father. I kinda wanted Daunte to become a reconnaissance character, always in the shadows. Another thing I wanted was for Ike, the youngest, to come face to face with some sort of brutality (Perhaps the death of one of the maids) and be scarred by it.

With Master K's paranoia, I also wanted to have the household become trained in handling weapons. Ike would wield a spear, Daunte would use a dagger, Ike would go for a simple short blade, Annette would use a rapier, Helena (The maid that was never introduced) would use a machete, and Demura would use a claymore. I had the humorous image in my head of the quiet, faint hearted maid wielding a massive sword and cleaving a training dummy in half.

I patiently waited for the day this would all happen, but it never. Oh well, I guess.

Starstruck -> RE: Isle of Dracos - OOC (5/3/2014 11:17:35)

I've PMd TJByrum about taking over - if he doesn't respond within a certain time frame, I will proceed with his taciturn approval and request information not yet stated.

If he does not respond to that within a certain, slightly more generous, time frame, I will adapt the background to my own interpretations.

I expect far more activity from this board, and so I will "become the change I wish to see in the world." My IC post will be up later today.

Hopefully my future activity will bring about activity from everyone. :) For a little while I do expect to see my posts every other post, but that will eventually change, I'm sure.

TJByrum -> RE: Isle of Dracos - OOC (5/3/2014 12:55:56)

I give Starstruck full control over this roleplay. His word is now law.
