Redingard -> RE: =OS= Character Suggestion Discussion Thread (2/27/2014 14:55:45)

Ah, my mistake. I thought the element had to be water (and yes, I fixed the image), but you're right. I'll be sure to edit it so that it is more clear my submission is a water character. Thanks.

Trollok!!! -> RE: =OS= Character Suggestion Discussion Thread (2/27/2014 14:58:33)

No problem. Let me know when you've made the edits. Your writing is really quite advanced so I look forward to your updates! You'll definitely be a strong contender once we've sorted out the elemental issue :)

Mondez -> RE: =OS= Character Suggestion Discussion Thread (2/27/2014 17:51:10)

Well I added some edits and hopefully the explanation of the soul can be left to rest as well as the objective of Aquarius Apparatus before he was scrapped in the junkyard and I added a small explanation to its energy crisis issue.

This is the best I can manage and I still wrote it in a mindset for younger readers to understand. I would write it for older audiences, but that wouldn't be entertaining plus it makes things droll if too much detail was placed it.

(Edited it while listening to Miyazaki works for inspiration.)

Redingard -> RE: =OS= Character Suggestion Discussion Thread (2/27/2014 22:42:09)

Alright, I edited the story a little bit so that Cyrano is more of a Hydromancer than an overall mage. Also had him dabble in other schools of destruction magic so that the whole Water/Energy thing works as wel.. I might even add a new chapter to his story, maybe his first encounter with the denizens of OS. Story is here, and some more food for thought would be appreciated.

Megadragonknight -> RE: =OS= Character Suggestion Discussion Thread (2/28/2014 2:23:14)

@Mondez
Your chances of being pick by Nulgath for the final is high. A lot of forumites including me gave a positive feedback for your writing entry and it is really a wonderful story in my opinion. Good luck in the contest.

Blackshock -> RE: =OS= Character Suggestion Discussion Thread (2/28/2014 7:40:06)

I wonder when we find out who gets into the voting phase? I'm kinda excited.

Skurge -> RE: =OS= Character Suggestion Discussion Thread (2/28/2014 7:42:50)

I finished my entry (both story wise and art), but wasn't satisfied with it. [&:]

Anyway, it'll be great to see the character suggestion by Mondez put up for voting. One of my favorites this time. [;)]

Kiazz -> RE: =OS= Character Suggestion Discussion Thread (2/28/2014 7:43:12)

Hm, what'd you guys vote for, given the current writing and art entries, before the voting phase starts? :o

Megadragonknight -> RE: =OS= Character Suggestion Discussion Thread (2/28/2014 7:51:26)

I am really getting excited to find out whose entry especially writing entry will be pick in the final for voting. I pray and hope my Aquatic Dragon will be selected.

Blackshock -> RE: =OS= Character Suggestion Discussion Thread (2/28/2014 8:04:14)

Well if I do make it, I'm totally reserving my own vote for myself. If I don't, then I'll see who else gets a shot >:D

Megadragonknight -> RE: =OS= Character Suggestion Discussion Thread (2/28/2014 8:24:34)

@blackshock
Don't worry, you have very high chance to make it.

Blackshock -> RE: =OS= Character Suggestion Discussion Thread (2/28/2014 8:25:32)

Idk, I've seen a lot of other really good entries. Honstly getting pretty fired up. XD

Megadragonknight -> RE: =OS= Character Suggestion Discussion Thread (2/28/2014 8:30:53)

Yeah, but most of the entries are writing which is really scary for me. I fear my Aquatic Dragon won't make it in the final but I still hope for it. :)

Mondez -> RE: =OS= Character Suggestion Discussion Thread (2/28/2014 8:32:46)

Yeah there are a ton of good entries this time around. Of course I refuse to back down from a challenge and I trained my art and writing skills back up to par. I can't wait to see the results of the finals. Good luck to everyone!

Trollok!!! -> RE: =OS= Character Suggestion Discussion Thread (2/28/2014 8:35:20)

I care not if I make it to the finals or not. It's my first suggestion ever so I have a lot to work on. That being said, it's been an honor to read your entries and try to help to the best of my limited abilities. Bon courage everyone :)

Megadragonknight -> RE: =OS= Character Suggestion Discussion Thread (2/28/2014 8:37:42)

No way would I redraw from such a challenge to hope for a chance to enter the finals. I wish everyone good luck! Its really a shame only one for each entry will win when so many forumites put in their effort and time to make such good suggestion on Water characters for the contest. But hope brings positive image on us. :)

Trollok!!! -> RE: =OS= Character Suggestion Discussion Thread (2/28/2014 8:41:00)

These contests are a lot of fun really. Reading all these entries has helped to ease the boredom of moose-hunting immensely even if I still haven't found it. Good distraction :)

Mondez -> RE: =OS= Character Suggestion Discussion Thread (2/28/2014 10:06:40)

I see some people dislike the idea of a triple element deck which is understandable because it's something that is very stretching on terms of both luck and possibility of the character being underpowered. The idea was to literally see how a triple element would be able to hold in a match and of course I'm using my suggestion as a scapegoat.

I tried the same logic in a previous beta-suggestion:
Ice Fire - Discard one fire element card to gain 10 fire energy or discard 1 ice element card to gain 10 ice energy. Can only be used for one element.

Which the main element would be Neutral, but it was difficult to pull off so I scrapped the idea. Hydroelectric Conversion is easier to pull off because majority of the cards are water based and can be improved with CC. One water card for 5 neutral and 5 energy points isn't asking for so much plus Aquarius gains two of the energy gaining cards. Hydroelectric Conversion is technically a water card itself.

Electrical Arc and Iron Hide were the best cards to use for the deck because of their low costs and compatibility with Hydroelectric Conversion. Right now I believe the entirety of the deck is overall balanced and I did test it with regular playing cards.

Anyways bi-element decks are getting stale for me so I wanted to spice up battles with this type of character.

Blackshock -> RE: =OS= Character Suggestion Discussion Thread (2/28/2014 10:20:27)

Speaking of triple element, remember when Xmas Fiend literally had a triple element deck due to a glitch? It was hard to use deck but I honestly found it kinda fun. I think the idea of a working tri-element deck shouldn't be that impossible and I honestly wanna see it happen :D

Megadragonknight -> RE: =OS= Character Suggestion Discussion Thread (2/28/2014 10:29:38)

Tri-element is fun to use though it require luck and strategy to master it.

Anyway, the selection of the entries for the final isn't ready yet. I may have to wait till I awake tomorrow to see whose entry make it to the final. I will be surprise by then and I hope it will be a good news for me that my Aquatic Dragon make it to the final and hopefully will be voted the most although chances won't be high.

LigerBeard -> RE: =OS= Character Suggestion Discussion Thread (2/28/2014 10:47:43)

Whether or not I make it to the final is purely up to fate. Hopefully, the fact that I was able to get it on the 1st page helps, but I do honestly hope that I could see my Captain Mako make it there. But even if I don't, this was my 1st contest, so i'll be able to figure out what I did wrong, so i'll be stronger because of it.

That being said, there are a lot of entries that caught my eye, specifically the Demria seaweed entry from The Jop. If mine doesn't make it, I would hope that his would. The story behind it made her seem lamentable, the appearance description made her form terrifying, and the deck made her powerful. My only complaint is that it might be better if the rank was legendary, because that deck seemed a little OP for master.

megakyle777 -> RE: =OS= Character Suggestion Discussion Thread (2/28/2014 11:49:38)

I wish good luck to all who have entered. May the best entries be the winners.[:)]

The Jop -> RE: =OS= Character Suggestion Discussion Thread (2/28/2014 18:16:45)

@LigerBeard.
Thanks. Good luck to you as well, and everybody who has entered. I considered making it Legendary, but it seems to be a tradition to make suggestion characters Masters.

megakyle777 -> RE: =OS= Character Suggestion Discussion Thread (3/5/2014 2:29:32)

"In ages past a realm of gold,
truly was a sight to behold,
King and Dragon burnt it down,
ruled horrors there with blackstar crown."
Old nursery rhyme, author unknown.

So, I had an Idea to base some future entries off of. Basically it's this: the legend goes that once long ago there was a kingdom of gold that made a time of peace and prosperity. But them from the depths of the earth came a powerful king and a Great Magma Dragon of immense power. The lava they sent across the kingdom turned it from a realm of gold into obsidian from the heat of the magma dragon's breath, and many died. The doomed souls seeped into the obsidian, making it a land of evil horrors from which the king and dragon ruled. The horrors are made from the obsidian of the place: Obsidian Undead with obsidian bones, Obsidian Coated Fire Dragons, Obsidian Knights, you get the idea.

What do people think?

salene -> RE: =OS= Character Suggestion Discussion Thread (3/5/2014 20:27:27)

@Above I for one think it is great! and congratz to all who made it to the finals!
