@Red Komet
It was mentioned by Drakath in the cutscene "Dragon's Heart" that:
spoiler:

Their actions cannot be predicted or controlled. (Yes, the pronoun "they" CAN be singular)

In that sense, the Hero is most certainly a tool for Chaos - causing Chaos even if it is not realized by any.

@kaos rules x
According to AQW canon, the Hero could only exist in the past due to there being only a slight imbalance, due to his lack of a Mirror Realm counterpart.
As time went on, the imbalance grew to the point where the Hero would have been erased from existence had they not found the Celestial Egg to serve as their equal in the Mirror Realm. The second return to the Mirror Realm has the Hero
spoiler:

battle Undead Artix in the final quest, with King Alteon threatening to destroy the Celestial Egg.
This implies the Egg does hold value, because if Mirror Alteon destroyed it, dire consequences would have befallen the Hero.

It feels too cliched to have the Hero as the 13th Lord of Chaos, in my opinion. Why not
spoiler:

Desolich?

The beast has already caused plenty of Chaos, both in Etherstorm and in the Dragon Plane (twice!) and could serve as an original Lord of Chaos. That also corresponds to his near all-powerful nature - the 13th Lord is apparently meant to be the most powerful of them all, and given its control over the elements (and an entire realm) the opportunities for Chaos are legion.

kaos rules x -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/11/2014 10:09:07)

I agree entirely that it would be far too cliche to have the hero be the 13th lord of chaos.
I was moreso toying with the idea that the dragon egg would become the next lord of chaos, and because of that choice, our existence would be altered somewhat.

I'm still not remembering any imbalance for the hero in the first Mirror Realm event.
I'm recalling Paul and Storm saying that our hero was special and the only one of his kind, being able to travel freely between the universes.

I just feel as though the egg will have a strong connecting in the coming releases, no matter the outcome or identity of the 13th chaos lord.
If the egg doesn't play much of a roll, well...that's a bummer, because there's so many loose plots that have potential to be tied back together in the finale.

Alastair Q -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/11/2014 10:58:14)

^Our second return to the Mirror Realm provided the idea of an imbalance( http://www.aq.com/gamedesignnotes/return-to-the-mirror-realm-2801); especially these quotes:

quote:

You are unique. There is no version of you in the Mirror Realm. As your great actions in this reality have begun to change the story the multiverse has become unbalanced without an opposite power changing the world in the Mirror Realm and that is VERY dangerous.

Like your own natural defenses attacking an invading virus causing imbalance in the body, the multiverse has begun to react to the imbalance caused by you. Mirror Drakath has begun to sense movement in the multiverse and he has come to this side to help you escape the fate of being erased from reality.

From the cutscene "Mirror Drakath" in /join brightfall:
quote:

Unless we find a way to balance your presence here on my side... you will begin to sort of unravel, like a scarf.

The egg, in AQW canon, is our equal in the Mirror Realm. I do hope it does play a big part, especially as we get so many of our questions answered as the final Lord of Chaos draws near. There are many loose plots; the Bloodtusk Chaos Lord, the Amberheart Watchtower disappearance, Center of Lore; this saga has been in the making for years, and I'm betting there'll be many answers... and even more questions. [:D]

zanathos -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/11/2014 11:01:10)

If the Hero has anything to do with the 13th Lord of Chaos, I hope that we are actually the 13th beast. I mean that in the sense of something happens that the 13th is just too powerful, so we undergo some kind of chaos ritual to even the odds, but in the process, become powerful enough to light up the last rune.

Jolan3000 -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/11/2014 18:33:13)

Maybe the Hero is a dragon of something, because his counterpart is a dragon. So if our counterpart is a dragon egg, our body is the egg of a dragon; and when it is born, the Hero will release a great power.

ShadowMoon -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/11/2014 18:52:20)

quote:

We already had that scenario just instead of chaos it was Zombies. It would be redundant.

theres not much of a difference between chaorruped people & creatures controlled by drakath & zombified people & creatures controlled by sepulchure. just a different leader & different type of virus.
i still haven't any new theory's in the 8 pages of this thread, just the same stuff said before in the older threads that predate this one & got killed off by the purge

Red Komet -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/11/2014 23:38:57)

Anyway Hero being meant to serve Chaos means that a Mirror Counterpart is meant to serve Order

Jolan3000 -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/12/2014 20:44:16)

Not neccesarily. In a DN say
quote:

The Mirror Realm is a backwards world where everything is flipped in SOME way but not every way. It could be a simple as someone being right handed there where they are left handed in our world, or it could be a significant as a kindly and noble king on this side being reflected as the absolute power for evil on the other side.

http://www.aq.com/gamedesignnotes/return-to-the-mirror-realm-2801

So the mirror realm is not complete altered. For example, Warlic and Cysero in the mirror realm are good, not evil.

Red Komet -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/12/2014 22:05:28)

And Warlic still wears Blue and yet is Science rather than Magic

Anyway would have been nice if Chaos Lord 13 has a Sneak Peek Preview

Jolan3000 -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/13/2014 16:32:27)

I want that the 13 Chaos Lord hasnt a preview. So it will be a surprise.

301st Legion -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/13/2014 22:19:23)

quote:

I'm still vouching for Lord Brentan to be the 13th Lord of Chaos. He possesses all the characteristics that I want to see in the one last and final Chaos Lord. First of all, he is an original character to the game. He wasn't just derived from other AE games. Second, he doesn't seem like a King with a powerful and good will. He seems arrogant, especially in one of those cutscenes in the Shadowfall Alliance where is seemingly grim and bitter towards the fact that Victoria is claiming the Throne of Swordhaven. So maybe he would seem fitting as to turn out as a villain, adding a twist to the story.

Callender Parsley -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/14/2014 6:36:07)

@301st Legion
NO. Please NO. Good has been portrayed as unsympathetic (Lionfang) and ineffectual (Alteon) WAY too many times now. The influx of Evil characters such as the blue guy, that guy with six eyes, and She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named does not help matters. I was literally pulling my hair out when AE announced that Lorian Independence Day involved that silly bundle of bones we call "Shadowfall" flying again. Please. NO.

Shadowhunt -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/14/2014 12:02:59)

^ Well, Brentan isn't exactly Good... but beyond that, he's a pretty obvious choice and since AE is making a big deal about it being someone or something that's unexpected, I doubt it will be him. Of course it could be hard to tell who exactly they're catering to. A 13 or 14 year old may not expect some of the characters that the people in their 20s do, and if AE is catering to that younger group then it might be someone that the older people have suspected. Or, they may make it a character that no one has ever heard of. We can really only wait and see. Or, you guys can. I'm so sick of Chaos, I don't care who it is [8D]

ShadowMoon -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/14/2014 18:26:53)

well technically most of the good fraction ain't even "good" just like how quite a bit of the evil fraction ain't even truly evil & how the chaos fraction is predictable...

Coypirus -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/14/2014 18:29:08)

Am I the only one sympathetic to Lionfang here?

Lemonus -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/14/2014 18:35:14)

^I guess he wasn't that bad. But the whole "hurdurr all of you are wrong this is how hou do it" thing got old quickly.

What if the 13th CL is actually David, would anyone expect that?

Coypirus -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/14/2014 20:36:38)

Who is david?

kreem -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/14/2014 20:47:48)

Only the most epic character in AQW.[:D]

http://aqwwiki.wikidot.com/david

Kiyone -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/14/2014 20:57:14)

David as a Chaos Lord. Hmm, that is on the Spanish inquisition showing up levels. You would never expect it but for the last Chaos Lord. I doubt it. Given his in game story arc. He's one more likely to become a chaos beast if the team were to go chaos route with him

If they were to use him for Chaos story. Maybe as a Chaos knight with a chimera of the animals he is associated with. Still I do like this theory.

Saoni -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/14/2014 21:56:27)

I totally forgot about david, really would love for a story to be developed for him. I don't see why he couldn't be the chaos lord.

Oh wait I thought you were taking about this guy.

Just kidding, how about j6 is the chaos lord and david is his beast [&:]

Jolan3000 -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/14/2014 22:17:29)

Maybe we dont know who is the 13 Chaos Lord or the 13 Beast of Chaos... But we will meet the 13 Beast of Order (or his egg) soon. So isnt David becuase that has no sense.

NoChaosNoCry -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/15/2014 5:28:54)

I haven't gone through the whole story,but I have a few questions want to ask
1.Is there any chance that "Hero being meant to serve chaos" is a lie or mistake to fool us all?

2.Is there any chance that the 13th CL is in fact,already created long time ago?
Not every time a CL appear,he/she has to act as soon as possible,right?Maybe the 13th is hiding somewhere in lore?

For crying out loud, I hope that someone as unexpected as David would turn out to be the Chaos Lord, which is more logical than being a Chaos Beast. As for someone already expected, I'd go for Lord Brentan. Otherwise, I'd be surprised if the last Chaos Lord turned out to be Sebastian.

The face expression says it all. Ever since SleuthHound Inn has been released, he's never changed that mischievous look. Unknowingly, Sebastian might have been Drakath's adviser who helped him pick all 12 Chaos Lords. And for a final plot, he turns out to be the last Chaos Lord. :0

Class Meister -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/15/2014 6:32:40)

^ After all... he is one hell of a butler.

Isangman0 -> RE: =AQW= 13 Lords/Beasts of Chaos Discussion Thread (5/15/2014 7:38:33)

My theory on the final Chaos Lord. (Note that I haven't completed the entire Chaos saga so I could be horribly wrong)

Reasons:

1. This is the final Chaos Lord. This event is going to be big. Artix Entertainment is going to pull out all the stops on this one.
2. We know that the developers aren't afraid to kill off popular characters if it means advancing the story line, Alteon proves that.
3. On the three Artix games I've played, AdventureQuest, DragonFable, and AQ Worlds, I always see three particular characters that are very prominently featured. Those three are Artix, Robina, and Warlic.
-Sure, Aria, Valencia, Galanoth and the others are also there, but those three are the most prominently shown. They also represent the melee, ranged, and magic archetypes of all the classes.
4. We have already seen (and played) the stories of two of them: Artix's saga was completed on Doomwood, and Robina's story more or less concluded during Swordhaven (since Robina the Hood is dead, replaced by Queen Victoria).
5. That leaves one more.
