Hmmmmm... Yeah, that sounds reasonable, so I think there won't be necessary to make too many adjustments. However, I think that the ability to shot Cinder Missiles would be a combined ability, as having control over both fire and smoke is too complex for a single overspark. So, in order to accomplish that, I can provide you with an NPC to help you acquire that element. For that matter, there will be a fair share of NPCs for everyone to befriend in order to amplify your powers... but still, player interaction is crucial and heavily encouraged. Anyway, the Fire Overspark user I have in mind isn't quite an orthodox one, (no Hot-Bloodness here, for starters) but I think it's better that way in order for her to remain a secondary character. After all, I don't want to steal anyone's thunder. And about the gods, well... They're at an intermediate point of the two possibilities you mentioned. They only rule over a fraction of the cosmos, (maybe a solar system, or a quadrant of the galaxy) but they're aware of the existence of other worlds and galaxies. We won't ever see, nor even mention the real "Big Bosses", because they're too otherworldly and powerful to even be conceived by mortals... Besides, they're not important for the events of this story, and they're busy doing things on a far greater scale. Regarding aliens... Well, that's a possibility I didn't consider until you just mentioned it... But, now that you did, I think it could be feasible, but it'd have to wait until we finish the first few "quests", otherwise things would be extremely confusing and convoluted right off the bat. I'd prefer to introduce the characters to the world with something more "accessible" before going for the most outlandish stuff. And that leads me to your next question... So far, what they've encountered are your standard high-fantasy races, like dwarfs, elves, halflings, goblins, giants, etc. However, even those are not exactly like one would expect them to be. For example, the goblins aren't actually villainous; they're highly curious and surprisingly resourceful creatures that like to mess around with stuff. They have uncovered a fair share of "lost tech" that they like to take apart in order to see how it works, and then try to reassemble it back... With mixed results. That said, they're developing a certain talent for reverse engineering, and they're creating their own versions of lost inventions and trinkets, like steam-powered boats and flying machines. And despite explosions being a common occurrence when you're around them, they aren't as fond of wanton destruction and weapons as the dwarfs, instead preferring to focus on tech with applications for the "common folk". (though, they also like to create weird and bizarre stuff from time to time, mostly to test the limits of their own ingenuity) But, as the story progresses, more strange and unique races will appear... But you'll have to stick around in order to see them. However, another of the staples you're sure to encounter are the "tree people"; mostly because they're awesome and I can never get enough of them. (they're one of my all-time favorite fantasy-races)
