dethhollow -> RE: The Men in Tights Initiative OOC (4/17/2015 12:45:08)

And let me guess.... Coake was waiting on you or Rip and Rip was probably just waiting for the heroes to enter the bank or something?

Riprose123 -> RE: The Men in Tights Initiative OOC (4/17/2015 22:33:24)

I'm focusing on other things tonight, and my day tomorrow is filled with dance type things, so I will post by sunday at the earliest.

dethhollow -> RE: The Men in Tights Initiative OOC (4/21/2015 17:50:00)

Who's closest to being able to post next? Dracos or Rip?

Dragonnightwolf -> RE: The Men in Tights Initiative OOC (4/21/2015 21:43:15)

i have no idea. I'm honestly just waiting for more involvement here. Oh. Just a quick official note. It's likely that starting tomorrow and going through till Wednesday evening of next week, my activity levels are probably going to drop. The final exams are coming up and I have to get in as much studying as I can. I will however come into the forums to check a couple things.

Draycos777 -> RE: The Men in Tights Initiative OOC (4/24/2015 19:30:47)

Sorry for the late reply. I'm off today, and I don't feel like complete crap thanks to my allergies, so I got a post up.

dethhollow -> RE: The Men in Tights Initiative OOC (4/25/2015 16:14:05)

Hopefully Rip posts soon. Stuff is finally moving forward and it would be a shame if he got left behind somehow.... Also, I posted! Not my longest post, but I felt it was fitting considering The Dicer is trying to be a distraction.

Dragonnightwolf -> RE: The Men in Tights Initiative OOC (4/25/2015 23:52:12)

I've made a responding post to the super-hero's. Super villains, if you need any clarification or you wish to work something out as us all getting out together, lemme know. I'm willing to play ball.

Bastet -> RE: The Men in Tights Initiative OOC (4/29/2015 15:53:04)

Heads up, bio finally here.

Real Name: Alice Flair
Faction: FBSA Operative
Alias (If any): Seeker (as an FBSA codename)

Age: 22
Race: Human
Appearance: Alice is of Caucasian descent, standing at 5’7”. She possesses a light-skinned average figure, and always wears a white blindfold. Her short, wavy hair are dyed the colours of a vivid flame, ranging from yellow to deep red. Outside of missions, she dresses in casual clothes, otherwise wearing a standard-issue FBSA military suit that offers basic protection.

Powers: Superhuman sense of smell.

Abilities ( Due to her background and occupation, Alice has received military training. She knows how to operate firearms, and knows how to fight hand-to-hand. Other than that, she has learned

Strengths: Alice possesses an extremely developed sense of smell. She can effectively use it as a way to compensate for her blindness, as it is so accurate she can “sense” the outlines of anything close to her, and big objects (Assuming every part of a person's body carries their scent, I would imagine Alice being able to "see" outlines simply based on the fact that she can detect where the smell is coming from. If said person moved, Alice could tell his/her new position simply by the fact that the scent's origin would have shifted in place). This allows her to even, within reason, detect things through walls and natural barriers. She can recognize people and specific objects after having acquired their scent (either picking it up directly from the intended target or from something that has had consistent enough contact with them), being able to track and recognize them if they come anywhere near her detection range (which is, at maximum, around 20 miles). Range also becomes much less of a problem when she is tracking a specific target.

Weaknesses: Alice’s smell can’t completely replace normal, human eyesight. While she can “see” the outlines of objects and people, her smell can’t detect details as well as regular eyesight, and needs time to properly explore her surroundings. For this reason, she adapts well to working with other FBSA Operatives and is rather defenseless when alone against other Supers. She also doesn’t possess any offensive abilities, relying purely on firearms or on her modest hand-to-hand fighting skills. Her detection becomes weaker and more difficult to use as the distance between her and her target increases: after about 5 miles she'd only be able to track targets whose scent she has already acquired, and figures would become fuzzy and hard to distinguish.

Personality: Alice maintains a happy-go-lucky personality, seemingly unaffected by her tragic history and disability. When facing criminals or villains, however, she becomes rather focused, avoiding behaviour that could inhibit progress on her mission.

History: Alice was the daughter of an unknown criminal, killed during a governmental taskforce’s raid on a suspect criminal hideout. She was wounded by an incendiary grenade thrown by an operative while trying to hide amidst the chaos and confusion. The flash and the searing flames left her blind in both eyes, though the rest of her lithe body was left miraculously untouched. Being a little more than a child at the time of this attack, she was the only one to be spared. She spent some time at a government institution before being adopted by one of the operatives who had participated in the attack. Her presence was initially bureaucratically problematic, because there were no official records that she existed at all. As a definitive solution, she was named Alice by the man who had decided to take care of her, and she took his surname. She grew up and became familiar with the government’s special police due to her parent’s employment, being generally accepted and even occasionally taken care of by other members of the task force. She lived as much of a normal life as her blindness and social condition allowed, until she began developing her powers. This happened shortly after the operative that represented her only parental figure was killed in a reprisal attack by NNYC Mafia. When the governmental agents realized how useful her abilities could be for tracking down wanted criminals and making sure that operations succeeded she was pulled out of her “normal” life and given a private education offered by the government while being trained as an operative. She was one of the first Superhumans to be actively integrated into the FBSA, and even then she enjoys a much higher degree of trust than that given to other, extraneous Supers who joined the task-force.

Dragonnightwolf -> RE: The Men in Tights Initiative OOC (4/30/2015 0:22:09)

Well a couple of questions there Bastet. First of all, if she's blind how can she operate a complicated weapon like a gun? Most blind-heroes I know (I'm talking Daredevil and a blind swordsman) use less complicated weapons.

Sure the blind can see via heightened senses, but operating complicated complex weapons like a gun which requires aiming, cleaning, knowing how to unjam it etc. That seems a bit out of reach for a blind person.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, it looks like some of your text got cut off during transition? like where it talks about abilities.

Also I hate to tell you this but a person's scent doesn't carry an outline. At best a persons scent would carry a lower-range target area. Specifically it might generate typically around the arms, maybe the face depending on cologne, etc. But otherwise A person's scent showing off an outline is highly inaccurate.

Had you said "Sound" based, which the indie game sightless, easily proves, Sure I can see that. In fact that's the primary way that Daredevil sees. But scent can easily be obstructed by other smells too. Specifically I'm talking if you throw chemicals, or any other strong smells, that's also going to disrupt the sight-base your talking about here.

I have to politely suggest in my opinion as a person who understands super-heros, that maybe this character needs a little bit of fine tuning. Naturally everyone else is welcome to disagree, but I do have some knowledge when it comes to super heroes.

I'd like to leave an update here. On May 10th I'll be out of town. I may or may not have forum access at the time. If not, I'll be returning the following Sunday.

dethhollow -> RE: The Men in Tights Initiative OOC (5/5/2015 20:33:26)

Where the heck did everyone go? It's been quite a while since anything's happened with this RP. Which is weird because I know Rip's at least logged on since the last IC post and I know he can post in this.

Dragonnightwolf -> RE: The Men in Tights Initiative OOC (5/5/2015 20:43:24)

I've no idea where everyone went deth. I'm waiting for some more action so I can post accordingly here.

Draycos777 -> RE: The Men in Tights Initiative OOC (5/5/2015 21:27:57)

Ya, I've been waiting for Coake and Rip to post so that Blane can act accordingly. Also idk if TJB plans on staying in this RP or not since he hasn't posted yet.

dethhollow -> RE: The Men in Tights Initiative OOC (5/5/2015 23:26:06)

We can go on without TJB if we have to at this point because he's not involved. But the people who need to post and are at the center of events seem to have just disappeared for some reason.... It's almost like this was part of some villainous scheme........

*looks at Master Beast suspiciously*

Bastet -> RE: The Men in Tights Initiative OOC (5/6/2015 7:34:09)

I was waiting on Riprose to give me one more confirmation that my character may begin acting.

Dragonnightwolf -> RE: The Men in Tights Initiative OOC (5/6/2015 15:12:26)

I haven't seen TJ post a reply to Trevor Minx in the other rp yet either so I have no idea where he is. And I had nothing to do with the mysterious disappearances. It's as if everyone suddenly vanished from rp for the month of april/may.

Hmmmm...........

Kinzdor -> RE: The Men in Tights Initiative OOC (5/7/2015 8:52:42)

As the activity surge on TFF is dying down, I thought I`d check in to see if the AEF version of this rp had room for another super. May just use the same guys from the TFF one, may tinker with a bad guy we`ll see.

Dragonnightwolf -> RE: The Men in Tights Initiative OOC (5/7/2015 19:18:54)

Just a huge reminder. I'll be unavailable from this Sunday until next sunday, so I won't be able to post in the forums at all.

I will keep in contact (or try to) via Irc ala laptop "if" i'm able.

I am now back home.

Okay, it's been an awful long time here and I'm now convinced to doing a ROLE CALL. If you are still interested in the role-play, Then please say so, After that I'll politely ask Mr. Ronin for permission to "borrow" the role-play until our faithful owner returns.

But it has been 7 days since my absence, and this being tuesday counts up to 10 days with zero role-play activity on this thread.

Riprose123 -> RE: The Men in Tights Initiative OOC (6/20/2015 22:34:15)

Um, hi.

So, it's been awhile. I'm not sure what all ^This talk is about, but, I'm still alive and kicking. I've got some more time on my hands now, and did have plans for this RP. Still, I think I need to see who is actually still interested in continuing this one.

any takers? Otherwise, I'll drop a line to Ronin to lock it, because it's taking up space for me right now.

Dragonnightwolf -> RE: The Men in Tights Initiative OOC (6/21/2015 21:38:55)

I'm still around. Last I recall we were in the middle of a bank job gone wrong.

Bastet -> RE: The Men in Tights Initiative OOC (6/27/2015 12:14:24)

I'll retire from this RP.

Draycos777 -> RE: The Men in Tights Initiative OOC (6/27/2015 19:29:10)

^Same

Riprose123 -> RE: The Men in Tights Initiative OOC (6/28/2015 0:27:57)

I've had Ronin lock the IC. This RP is no longer active, and does not count towards anyone's limit.
