*After clearing through the monsters and boss, you exit south to find the greenhouse where you meet with Stranger to gather Verlyrus' catnip.*

Stranger: Hey, hey you, are you buying?
<Character>: Uh, I think so? Are you who I'm supposed to buy the catni-
Stranger: SHH! Keep it down! You never know who might be listening.
Stranger: I got the stuff. It's the REALLY good stuff too. You don't want to know how much trouble it was smuggling this past the Rose checkpoints.
<Character>: How much trouble was it?
Stranger: You really don't want to know.
<Character>: I'm actually genuinely-
Stranger: I will say, you're a lot taller than I was expecting. Don't get me wrong. I don't judge.
Stranger: Cats come in all shapes and sizes.
<Character>: Oh! It's not for me, it's for my friend!
Stranger: Sure, sure. Might want to order a lot more next time if your "friend" is as big as you are.
<Character>: Well, no, he's kind of small. He lives in a box and he-
Stranger: Whoa, whoa. Don't need the life story, friend. Just here for the transaction.
<Character>: So... can I have the uh, stuff?
Stranger: Of course. How would you like to pay today? Gold or Dragon Coins?
Stranger: I also accept Silver, Gems, Adventure Coins, and Points, although a nominal processing fee is applied for those.
Stranger: And do you have a membership card?
<Character>: Uh. Um.
<Character>: My friend neglected to give me any money for this. And I don't know if he has a membership card.
Stranger: Low on cash, huh? Tell you what, open up a membership card today and I'll give you a 25% discount. Won't find a better deal.
<Character>: I'd rather not.
Stranger: Well, no money, no product. Sorry friend. It's how the business goes.
<Character>: I guess I could spend some of my own gold... but Verlyrus is going to owe me. Even more.
Stranger: Whoa, whoa, this is a pick up for Verlyrus? Why didn't you say so in the first place?
<Character>: I did. I said it was for my friend. Who lives in a box. And is a cat.
Stranger: Yeah, yeah, well that changes things. You know, it's good that he's employing the less advantaged cats like you to do some work.
Stranger: A job is important in these trying times, and I know it can't be easy for struggling cats like yourself.
<Character>: I'm not- I don't even look like- Have you ever seen a cat that looks like this?
Stranger: That's the spirit! Dress for the job you want! Keep looking to the future! Keep up that attitude and you'll be lounging with the fat cats in no time.
<Character>: ...
<Character>: So about the catnip?
Stranger: Right, right, I get it-you're busy. Here you go.
Stranger: Verlyrus is paid up for a few months now, so don't worry about payment.
<Character>: Thanks. Seriously, I don't know why I keep doing all of this for him.
Stranger: Yeah! Channel that ambition! Be your own boss! You'll be top cat in no time.
<Character>: For the last time, I'm not-
Stranger: Do you hear that?
<Character>: Hear what?
Stranger: Oh no, it's the fuzz! I gotta run. Take care, cat friend! Fight the power!

*Stranger uses a smoke bomb to escape.*

<Character>: Guess I should start heading back, now that I have the catnip.
<Character>: Why DO I keep doing all of this for Verlyrus, though?
<Character>: Something fishy is going on, and it's not the cat's dinner.

  • Complete Quest

    Other information
  • Pop-up headlines during the quest:
    quote:

  • Thugs and bandits? What kind of store is this?
  • Some oddly large oranges. One of them has "Property of Griffon" stamped on the side.
  • You hear some muffled clucking from inside the crates.
  • So many oranges!
  • Apple-flavored oranges.
  • Whoever shops here must really like their oranges.
  • This cart is full of barrels of... you guessed it, oranges. Wait. How did this cart even get inside?
  • Oh, so they do sell something other than oranges! These are... Green oranges. Okay then.
  • Looks like tiny mini-cabbages. At least their not oranges.
  • Is this- could it be? No, it's just catnop. You're looking for catnip.
  • These books are being sold as "Tissue paper and firelighters, 5 gold a pack". Rude!
  • You can't quite make out what's being dispensed from these barrels but it smells horrible.
  • For some reason, this bale of otherwise insignificant hay has a price tag of over 1 million gold. Suspicious!
  • Rough scrawling has been carved into the side of this jar. "Smells fishy inside. Do not open."
  • Cownop. Apparently it's a really high quality alfalfa.
  • Potatoes and onions. Definitely not oranges.
  • Invisible oranges. They appear to be sold out.
  • Taking a peek through the airholes, it looks like the chickens are... no, they're normal chickens.
  • Oh, cool, limes!
  • Cutnup. Looks like some kind of spinach.
  • These piles of broccoli, lettuce, and other veggies look undisturbed. Unhealthy!
  • This barrel of a sticky oil is marked "Hero-Repellent". It doesn't seem to work.
  • Maybe they sell the catnip in the greenhouse?
  • Was there some sort of axe-ident here?
