I'd definitely be happy. While I have been waiting for years for a ninjachaun armor, which is what I want SOOOO badly; ultimately there's no telling what could be in the reward shop regardless of the theme of the quest, so like I've been doing since I posted about it back in the Frostvale thread, I'll do my best from assuming anything specific as to give AQ a chance. Not that they guaranteed that they would make the ninjachaun armor, but since they already acknowledged my desire.

Maybe it isn't, but Blarney seems a bit early this year. No complaints here, as I have a list of things I have plans to obtain from old Blarney Years. Looking forward to it.


However, and I *hope* this is premature, but I get we will still have the traditional seasonal events, and I get there is a larger push for content that helps fund the business, but I just hope the band-aid that was removed didn't get removed from a snake bite victim, whose venom is an anti-coagulant and the band-aid was closer to a tourniquet than a band-aid.

...Meaning... I just hope *several* tier 1 and 2 classes get their revamps done *IN 2022*. The band-aid came off, and I support the reasons, but I will only continue to support the plan if there is a sense of urgency to get there.

I get it that plans won't always get telegraphed and I hope this statement is all for naught, but I just know if this class revamp strategy ends up dragging out forever, the optics will look terrible.


While we wait, and cross our fingers, bring on Blarney!...for now.

@kuronekoalchemist: That looks... interesting to say the least. Although at that point I feel it may warrant its own discussion thread and I have many questions and thoughts about that preview. Anyone want to take the initiative on that?

Anyways this war may be a good opportunity to see how the Estate update holds up with wars, maybe even this event could be a bridge to making some much needed additional improvements. One of the issues I have with the new war send updates is that it's a LOT slower than it used to be. Ideally for mass-send it won't take as much time as it does right now, as well as maybe automatically shifting secondary resources automatically when the primary sending resources are depleted. I think since this war is the first one we've had since Frostval and a lot of people have been building up estates since then I think this war will be done incredibly quickly.

Just means that there are faces as a reward. Reffinancing had faces and didn't have an armor

AQ3D is having "Lucky Day" tomorrow. Wish OG AQ did that.

You could have a 1 day event where they could have luck based token packages, LTS items, maybe a large gold and EXP boost for the day where maybe you get a 10% chance of double the amount after each battle, maybe could do half priced token items for the day, etc etc etc. Maybe the Rare and JUR GGB's get double rate for the day.

Could do all kinds of things

^I don't really more RNG/gacha in my games, thanks. The Golden Boxes are already enough and I don't even touch them much.
EDIT: reread your post, Gold and EXP boost can work. Anything else? Ew.

The silhouette in the article pic looks familar. I can't really put my finger on who.

AQ usually has a bonus EXP/Gold day at least once per year and there is the Black Friday sale every year. The only thing not done is the increase in GGB shop chance.

It was stated a few years ago that setting a token item sale is easy so having a category discount isn't an impossibility.

I've been here for 16 years. The forums have gotten less and less active every year. Discord has nothing to do with it.

Been here just as long. Well, not active on the forums but played AQ since 06'. Discord is certainly a factor, but yeah I suppose after some thought I guess I would agree... it's other reasons.

Three thousand wins for the armor variant, hm. Without fleeing or spending $, you cap at ~250-300 wins, so that's at least ten days of warring, and we're already at 20% less than 24 hours after the war started.

Alas, fortune thief, though you caught my eye with your mysterious silhouette, it seems we're not meant to be.

how are we supposed to get 3k kills for the armor if 1/4th of the war is done in less than a day? is there any way you can increase the mobs or decrease the 3k win total?

I am pretty sure that was the armies fault.
The new and easier system is not much faster then manually clicking to be honest but MUCH LESS work. You can watch videos while your counter goes down like 5 minutes [8D]

So I assume a lot more home owners started doing it because its just a few clicks for free gold in a little bit of automated time.

The system needs four changes.

1. When you are in manual click mode, you should be able to click Half army and have it left there for the next click. Right now, you have to click half army over and over and over.

2. When in manual click mode, you should be able to choose which "planet" you're sending armies from, and have it stay. Right now, you have to click the bottom listed planet over and over and over.

3. When in exhaust all armies mode, you should be able to have the system redirect all resources from wood and stone into food and energy by itself. Now, it will exhaust until out of resources, then you have to go to the trade hut, move resources, and go back and start over. The 3x and 5x does help, but this change wasn't needed if what I am saying was done, and honestly, I have found the 3x and 5x change I have left off once resources get under whats available and to evaluate it I just left it at 300 and moved stuff around with that at the end anyway.

4. Maybe this can be done, so #4 has an asterisk, but I didn't try it and I will test later when I have time, but exhaust armies should be (if it's not) be done on Half army mode.

Wow armies chewed through about 300K mobs in 24 hrs! The war win variants are simply color edits of the rewards you'll find in the chest once the war has ended. With the stat and training overhaul coming next week, and Kam needing some dental work... it looks like Sham will need reinforcements this year!

The training overhaul was likely needed because I bet the stat rework will create some large amounts of OMGzorz and so free and quick retraining as players try and figure out what to do will be necessary.

I just hope the stat trainers in the estate continue to give some real benefits over the normal one.


Also, I hope this is done right. One thing I personally think is absolutely needed is a departure of 1 stat contributing so much to universal blocking..ie Dexterity. It should be done so that dex either plays a smaller roll with Mainstat (dex obviously still king for for ranged) playing a role for melee/magic, in an attempt to fix this "just go with blocking" meta that's been pushed for a while now. I wouldn't even be against removing Dext's roll completely for melee/magic blocking.

I see it as no different than this: We have a shield that can max at 26%. I *think* if you go with 2 elements it's either 21% or 22% to two elements, outside of SP/MP costs like Lost Talon.

Blocking boosts, such as with bun barrets, edok's, etc should also have single blocking boosts that can max at a higher amount, 2 MRM boosts that max at a lower amount, and 3 at an even lower amount, instead of this always universal blocking.

Make warriors weaker to magic blocking and mages weaker to melee blocking, etc via stats....and not just through armor/shield MRM builds that just get "intended for" specific builds. This would provide more flexibility with item creation, and also with Boss creation.



The other thing I hope for is when you compare secondary stats, dex vs luck vs end, I hope we see a better balance here. While I have always preferred luck over dext for two reasons, the numbers do simply show dex is elite compared to the other two and not even close. I hope this all gets fixed, yet somehow making Dex a really great stat for "Ranger/Rogue, etc" aesthetics.

If staff can manage these, this will be fantastic.


Unrelated, but maybe down the road completely revisited since we are seeing all these changes this year. : I think there needs to be a hard look at status effects, especially in 2 categories.

A. Too many "turn loss" effects that too similar. You could argue that freeze-like effects are better than say, paralyze, amongst others, and so maybe some of these statuses could be looked at where I feel freeze-like could still change the resistance but no more automatic turn loss, but maybe act more like weaker chance for turn loss since you ARE getting the damage boost too.

B. A few status out there that are extremely rare either due to poor mechanics that make them not worth using/weak/or otherwise undesireable, and maybe some of these could be revisited and recoded and reimagined and then afterwards, implemented with new items and revamped stuff.

Topic for another day, most likely.
