After some thought, Dex removed as the universal BTH stat, and an attempt at carving out a niche for Rangers has to mean 1. Ranged will scale damage entirely with Dexterity and luck and BTh as well, just like Strength/Melee and Int/Magic. 2. In order to disallow Warriors and Mages from also using Ranged Weapons, there's going to have to be something else put in place for Ranged Weapons. The only thing I can come up with is the stat damage and/or BTH also having a MINUS or a decreased amount based on INT and/or STR. Otherwise, this will be a problem. 3. I would have to think total BTH for everything will need more influence from someplace else other than luck, or luck's influence will need to be made larger than 6.25% @ 250. The reason for this is BTH will continue to be high enough such that END builds just received a massive BUFF to BTH, thus thwarting one major reason to decide against END. Making Mainstat account for 37.5 BTH means END (HP's) and Dext (blocking) may still universally be favored over luck. The logical thing IMO would be to push luck's influence to maybe Luck/20, or 12.5%, or double than currently. This reduces mainstat BTH accounts for 31.25 bth, or mainstat/8. 4. Another thing that may happen as a result, is END may receive a nerf, and the HP formulation as a whole may see a nerf, bringing down HP's at 0 and at 250. I believe there has to be a balancing act on player decisions if you wish to choose Dex (blocking), End (HP's), or luck (BTH) as a secondary/tertiary. These changes or similar may very well produce the dichotomy and hardship of deciding for players, which is good. A similar thing happens with Beastmasters. Their Mainstat(charisma) scales damage and BTH completely with charisma/luck, and so IMO luck needs to affect BTH a bit higher in order to allow it to compete with END and Dexterity. A Charisma/END/DEX build would have too much BTH, and be the most defensive build considering bun barrets and such. In addition, what's stopping them from using Ranged in this new scenario? I guess we now have a "Ranger Beastmaster" variant that's extremely potent with it's defense and pets/guests. 5. Might see initiative change, though I hope it stays with luck, but acts like more of a balanced roll. I really think a player's LEVEL vs Monster Level should the most significant factor and not just a stat vs stat thing, where the stat vs stat is more of a minor just like how luck is always the minor anyway. So luck may gain a higher BTH role but have a smaller initiative role as an offset. And this actually makes the initiative status like with Tempest even better TBH. 6. Might see Dexterity take over the initiative roll instead of luck, though. In some ways, it "kind of" makes sense, and I wouldn't completely be against this. I think out of all this, in thinking about it, is how is staff going to be able to persuade other users who trained Strength and Intelligence from using Ranged Weapons if A. They also trained Dexterity/luck A Warrior build of 250 str/dex/luck could freely switch just like before A Mage build would be able to use Ranged weapons better than magic weapons This one issue IMO is the key. Excited to see what is revealed Anyhow, interesting times. Hope it works out
