*While your dragon flies around as the Thankstaking feast in Falconreach is getting prepared, Ruby—holding a green mushroom in her hand—appears behind the Turdurkens.*
Ruby: Now, for this year's secret ingredient...
Ruby: I can't wait to see everyone's faces! These wonderful mushrooms will be the perfect savory match!
*Ruby puts the mushroom on the Turdurken.*
Ruby: There we go! Nice and fresh! Everyone's going to love this!
*Ruby leaves.*
Ten minutes later
*Suddenly, the mushroom's roots grows and infects a Turdurken, causing it to wake up and infect more Turdurkens with mushrooms and summon Amalgamated Scraps; back in the Thankstaking feast, you and your dragon talk with Gretel about the feast's preparation.*
<Character>: Oh wow! Everything smells delicious! How's the preparation coming along?
Gretel: It's all going swimmingly! Everyone's working hard to make sure there's enough food and drinks for the feast.
<Character>: I can't wait to eat my fill again! It's been a long, tough, year of adventuring so a chance to sit down and eat with everyone will be a nice change of pace.
Gretel: Barring any mishaps of course...
<Character>: Yeah, these celebrations do seem to have the tendency to go wrong in some way or another, huh?
*An Infected Turdurken walks around you, your dragon, and Gretel; you and your dragon look at it before turning around to face Gretel.*
<Character>: ...Are they supposed to do that?
Gretel: I assure you they are not supposed to do that! And those mushrooms sprouting from the turducken...
Gretel: I think I saw Ruby walking around with a bag of those!
Gretel: RUBY! Come here right now!
Ruby: Heya! What's going on?
Gretel: What did you do with those mushrooms you were carrying around earlier?
Ruby: Oh! Could it be that you saw my mushroom surprise? Don't they just look super...
Ruby: ...Delicious?!
<Character>: I didn't get a good look at them on account of them being attached to a walking turducken...
Ruby: You mean "So fresh it's basically walking"?
<Character>: Ruby, they're literally walking around.
Ruby: Oh... they're not supposed to do that.
<Character>: Where did you even find those mushrooms?
Ruby: Oh, you know, some strange city in Doomwood.
<Character>: Wait... the Necropolis?! With all the undead?
Ruby: That's the one! Funny name, huh? Lots of bones around as well to make stock with!
<Character>: You do know those are mostly human bones, right?
Ruby: Mmm.... Bone broth...
Gretel: Ruby, focus! How many Turduckens did you put mushrooms on?
Ruby: Oh just the one, to give it a try.
*Contrary to what Ruby is saying, three Infected Turdurkens walk around you, your dragon, Gretel, and Ruby.*
Ruby: I promise it was only the one.
Gretel: It must be spreading! <Character>! You have to stop them before the whole feast is infected!
<Character>: We're on it!
Battle! - begins gauntlet.
Heal - fully replenishes HP, MP, and potions.
Run away! - returns to player's last location.
<Character>: I think that was the last of them.
Gretel: It looks like most of the feast came out unharmed so we can continue the preparations!
<Character>: What do you want to do with the infected Turduckens?
Gretel: I think... Ruby is taking care of those.
Ruby: Yummmmmm! They're SO GOOOOOOOOOOOD!
*You become concerned about Ruby eating the dead Infected Turdurkens before turning around to face Gretel.*
<Character>: ...Should Ruby be eating them?!
Gretel: Well, she has an iron stomach and the fungi didn't seem to affect anything except the cooked turduckens...
Gretel: She'll be fine.
Gretel: Probably.
Ruby: You really need to try this!
<Character>: Uh... no thank you, I'll wait for the actual feast to happen.
Gretel: I'll get back to it then. Time to refire an army of Turducken...
