AQ seems to use random things to influence what is in the game. You'll notice a lot of random references.

and I beilive galacticus doesnt want to destroy the universe either, he has to absorb life energy from inhabted planets to survive.

There is also the Sinister 7 war, an obvious reference to Marvel's Sinister 6...

As for Galactus, the Comic Version and the movie version differ somewhat... In the comics he takes the form of a giant Humanoid... :)

Just to clarify, taht has been here longer than Marvel.

Yup, Marvel "borrowed" a lot from various mythologies, for example the entire Greek and Norse Pantheons...

Those were Norse Legends incorporated to give a sense of power. A load of references are used in AQ. Asgard was the home of the gods and Valhalla for heroes. Fenris was Loki's dire wolf. Mjollnir was Thor's, Odin's son and God of Thunder's hammer which was crafted by Brokk and Eitri.

Galactus has always been a comsic power. try reading "the infinity guantlet" and "Anihilation" He indeed feeds off planets to still his neverending hunger. in the Ultimate universe, Gah'Lac Tus is a swarm of semi-sentient pods. (one of the few flaws in the ultimate universe imo)

Maybe some of the aspects of the storyline is influenced by Marvel..

BUT then again, AQ is influenced by multiple stories/spoofs too.

No. AQ was more liekly inspired by the original old Narse legends than Marvel.

i wonder if it can be just that. take agent smith in the devourer saga, the aliens (voidies) and predator in azma lake as examples. their area is vast, and it can't be just some old legends.

yeah but they all are the same thing, a big force that traval the galaxy to "uncreate" planets.

That's their only similarity. And Galactus just eats planets, The'Galin judges them. He leaves the worthy ones alone. Plus, Galactus is gigantic, The'Galin (while I imagine he can change shape) is human sized, or was in his original mortal body. The'Galin ascended, after dying...The list of things they don't share is quite long.
