But I think it is too big.
Without nonvariums the community would be a lot less and therefore very difficult to find/get battles.

Seriously.,
The Reason Why The Gap is Too Big is ''Enhancement''
Most Non-Varium Player Can't Full enhance their wep Because It's Need So much Credits,
Without Enhancement..,The Gap Between Var n NonVar is Too Small.,

I think It Will Balanced If Enhance Only For ''Wep n Armor'' Like b4

Without enhancements, variums still have 20 stat advantage, 2-3 more defense/resistance from armors, 2 more damage from gun and primary, and 4 more aux damage. Is this gap too small for you?

my thoughts on the gap can be seen all over the topic but im just going to link to all the math i did so if you need it you can find it
Varium V F2P(No enhancements and full enehancements)
Varium V F2P(Average battle)

you will have to do some scrolling to read it but both of htose pages are my math first link one of my posts is Varium V F2P with no enhancements farther down the page is F2P V Varium both with Full enehancements
second link if you scroll down is the math for F2P with average enhancemetns against a fully enhanced Varium

Enjoy and remember the math

Too big. Deffinetly.

In my opion, a player with the best f2p gear in the game should have about a 20% chance to kill another player with the best var gear.

I crunched some numbers and if my calculations are correct it would take a Nonvarium player with a 2:1 win ratio and every 4th win is defeating someone 2 levels higher than them it would take them 4255 battles to get to level 33, which is when I bet most of he Nonvariums (myself included) started enhancing weapons. Also with that same ratio and using the 614,210 credits needed to fully enhance it would take them another 23,055 battles to do that, and by that time the weapons would be way outdated.

If you're a Varium player (again assuming my calculations are correct) and you have a 3:1 win ratio, every 4th win 2 levels higher, it would take THEM only 502 battles to get to level 33, where they can just spend real money to enhance their weapons.
This is all not counting buying the weapons, retrain, etc.

If you have any questions about the calculations PM me and I'll try to get back to you within 12 hours from this post.

I am sorry I know the Gap is most worthy of discussion but I always find that when a version 2 is opened you get a whole bunch of new people posting that haven't even bothered to read the first version of the Gap. Therefore you generally get a whole bunch of posts that have little or no regard to the posts made previously.
I realise that locking on 10 pages is the AEF rule but it does tend to fail a topic that has demanded a lot of time and effort from so many previous posters.

Anyway I just live in hope that the relevant people bother to even read a topic that has been well thought out. I wonder if anyone really cares at all what we think.

^That's sooo true. My 9th page post on why enhancing right now does not make sense is gonna be lost forever. T.T lol

I think we should look at this problem in a different way.

Exactly how BIG do you guys want the gap to be? How many LEVELS should variums be higher than non variums?
With this info, we can calculate exactly how many enhancements/stats each side should have, and price enhancements accordingly.

IMO, I think a 3-5 level advantage should be good enough. that means 12-20 more stats, or 3-5 more stats(including enhancements), on each weapon/armor.

Do you varium players think that this is good enough, or do you guys need more than a 3-5 advantage, because that's about whats going to happen if enhancement prices are lowered severely?

if any one is giving you a hard time you do not need to reply to them for the sake of the argument. just ignore as best as you can and move on to what you were originally discussing.

^Profit loss

Anyways, the balance update did a good job to lower it.

I persoanlly agree that the gap is far too big, and while the enhancements is the biggest problem, only at the moment, and I have seen the many arguments that easily prove that point (which I agree with), however despite all the nuanseses that might fix the problem, I beileve one of the easiest fixes would simply be to increase the power of the power of non-var weps, for example how maurader boomstick has more base power than boomstick, I even see full vars using it.

But what do you guys think, I think it could work.

@edward i think the Devs would rather see a slight profit loss from afew players switching from Varium to Credit enhancements then see a major profit loss from half of the game quiting becuase the gap is huge

@OWA: +1

At this point it seems pretty obvious that the only way a f2p player can have any success in pvp is either as:

1. A support abuse (Tactical) Merc in 2v2
2. A strength abuse BH in 1v1

Thats it. And only after so much playing that you can afford credit enhancements.

Out of six classes and (seemingly) countless build options, only two combinations work with any success.

There is no reason that beta-era lvl33 commander mages with all the rare equips cannot compete at all in 1v1 or 2v2. Since gamma, my main has been relegated to NPCs 95% of the time (who likes constant losing).

And how many mercs and BHs will stick around (even with mild success) if they are limited to only one playing mode?

Personally, I have a card that takes up 5% of my inventory space and cost me 20,000 credits which:

1. Became useless after a few days.
2. Cannot be sold.

The devs must address very serious issues with the f2p nature of this game.

The AE business model is f2p games with member status and a secondary in-game currency that can be bought in large quantities or earned in small amounts over time.

I am sure that if ED went back to the ELITE/f2p system in addition to Varium as the secondary currency, the game will grow at a much faster rate. **See the 20,000+ ppl logged into AQ worlds**

Plz don't take this as complaining, I think that ED is in serious trouble and it would be a shame to lose such a potentially great game.

It's so big, you need a telescope to see the players on the other side.

Well, to have a decent chance, you need at least 3 enhancement slots to each weapon and massive experience in this game, I agree that's way too much for the average non-varium player. In the future, I hope they would just make weapons with an average of 4 enhancement slots, that will close a lot of the gap, because when you make a weapon with 10 slots, that's just 6 more stat points the non-varium player will not be able to get.

Non vars have to have luck to beat other VAR players because
1. They cant get Enhancements very quick
2. No promo's
3. Bad Armors
4. Worst Weapons

Non vars at least need a CHANCE to win not just luck

"Revived"

Everything is not fine. In every battle of a successful game, any side should have a chance to win. This situation right now just sucks. This game IS free to play, but on my last 5 one on one's, all varium TLM's. Yeah I actually couldn't beat them becuase the "balance update" made them even stronger. I put on a shield and they rage me super hard. I spam support and I arn't able to dish out enough damage. Let's be realistic here, only about one-fourth of all free players will be able to enhance their weapons. With my weapons unenhanced, I have 50 stat boosts. The varium player can have up to 112 (somewhere close) That is....lady and gents, about 15 levels higher than me in stats How the heck could I beat that? The answer is no. The only fix is to lower the amount of enhancement slots. When the heck did enhancements become required to win? It sure wasn't like that when it was introduced.

Its SO SO SO SO SO x100 BIG!

Enhancement is way too much and costy. The F2P player lack of non varium weapons and desperate to use the weak and lame weapons. Plus with the Tact Merc which is conquring this game, impossible for the F2P to beat them even they have full enhancement.

There is no longer any balance and fun in this game. The draconic destoryer and devastator prove it. +33 damage with +3 str, +10 dex, +4 tech and +8 support along with 9 enhancement slots? And it even has 1940 rarity points, way higher than the rarity points of non varium rare weapons.

Dragonic weps are 90% useless , and rarity is not effect battles also its 100% logical that varium weps have higher rarity points
