Forum Name: Salene Name: Lynn Styng Age: 20 Gender: Female Abilities: Adept at making mirages and images out of Fire, and bending pure heat to make people see things, able to create spirit like versions of people by bending Fire and energy. She is basically an advanced Illusionist, and actress. Bending: Fire Bending Starting location: Ember Island History: Lynn Styng grew up in the fire nation, on ember island. Her mother, a playwright from the Colonial Fire Nation village, had married her father, an admiral of a small fire nation ship off of the coast of Ember island. Her Father had fallen in love with her mother while on an expedition to find fugitives in the Colonial Fire Village. After that, her father smuggled her mother onto ember island where they then had Lynn, 5 years after meeting. Ever since Lynn was young, her mother had entertained her with stories from her home village. Stories of brave firebenders, fearsome dragons, and comedic Platybears. So it wasn't much of a surprise when Lynn joined the ember island players at 13 years old, becoming their youngest member. Her father also hoped for her to be a bender however, so ever since she could remember, she had also learned martial arts. She never showed an extremely large amount of talent in the matter, to her fathers disappointment, however, she contained enough knowledge to pass as a bender. Despite her age however, she was skilled at acting, and so she was cast as many important roles, including an interpretation of Pu-on Tim's "Moon Spirit Lake" playing none other than Veish, a young waterbender. Because of her obvious acting skills, Lynn quit school at 15, instead opting to join the Ember Island players full time. Her skills at acting soon had her traveling around Ember Island, entertaining the lords and ladies of the small island. One day however, Malu, a firebending magician adept at conjuring mirages made of fire, discovered her acting skills when she performed for the high commander of Ember Island. Malu approached Lynn after the show, expressing his shock at her talents. He then asked her to join the fire days festival, which was the best, largest, and most prestigious of all the festivals. Realizing the great opportunity, Lynn quit the ember island players, thanking them for all they had done, and went with Malu to her mothers home village, Colonial Fire nation. The Colonial Fire nation is know for its rich culture and arts, so Lynn felt right at home there. She became a part of the festival, performing frequently as young leading roles. After about 6 months of performing, Malu approached Lynn once again. This time however, he questioned her about her involvement in a recent spirit attack. Lynn knew nothing about the attack, as she had not in fact participated in it. Malu, still suspicious of her true intentions, kicked her out. With no way to get home, Lynn began performing small sideshows at the edges of the Colonial Fire Nation. Whenever a guard would pass by, Lynn would hide in the surrounding forests, quickly packing up her possessions and placing them in a large leather sack upon her back. One day, while practicing the role of a young water bender, Lynn became extremely immersed in her acting. So, as the final scene came to its end, a small burst of flame came from her palm, swirling around her. Lynn jumped backward, surprised and scared by her newly found abilities. Her powers grew rapidly from that point on. Soon, she was able to create small creatures from fire. Than even larger creatures. Than even LARGER creatures. Before she knew it, Lynn was summoning Dragons made from pure white fire. Lynn, her performing skills now at their finest, soon made enough money to buy passage on a ship headed towards Ember Island. On her way, Lynn found a small Screeching bird, which she named Feng, who now accompanies her on her journeys, adding sound to her acts. Appearance: Lynn has short black hair, tied with a red lace bow to make a small bun. She seems to always be blushing, and her eyes are always alight with mischief and fun. She is relatively short, and can easily pass for a child. She has orange eyes, surrounded by gold. She usually wears a white blouse, with ruffles on the sleeves, and buttoned with small black beads. She wears orange shorts, with fire symbols on them. She also has durable straw sandles which she wears everywhere. And on her shoulde is Feng. She also carries the leather sack on her back everywhere she goes. In the leather sack is fireworks, ignition sticks, and fire cracklers, as well as other useful performing tools.
