I believe it is mostly Cray's work in the recent MC quest, but there have been mentions in the past too, I believe.

The Dragonlords are summoned in the War of the Giants questline, found at Stonerule by talking to Riona, and the Dark Clouds quest, which is part of the Devourer Saga.

This quest is really making me want to get back into Dragonfable, but I always had such a hard time even on simple quests. The only two big quests I ever really did were the ones where Artix kills the Ghosts of Frostval Past, Present, and Future right as they were about to give us extremely important information and is proud of it, and the one where Sepulchure uses his flying Undead Dragon Fortress to destroy Falconreach Tower. It was also confusing trying to get caught up on the story. There's a guide somewhere on the forums for that right?
Actually three, because there's that early one where you get the dragon egg from the black chest, then you let it get stolen by a... Vultragon? And you have to get it back, but it looks exactly like the Vultragon's eggs, so you take them to Warlic, and as Warlic goes off to prepare a ritual to figure out which one is the dragon egg, you rather recklessly crack one open and cook it because you're hungry. Then Warlic comes back and realizes that Cysero has one the things he needs, and because they oh-so-maturely put a line of tape splitting their sides of the tower to avoid dealing with each other, you have to fight through Cysero's piles of laundry which have gotten so dirty they've gained sentience and possibly even sapience.

And AFAIR, the reason Warlic suffers from Mana Burn is because he's part demon, and his spells generate mana instead of draining it, and he generates so much that he needs to actively drain it into other things. I think a forum user mentioned it at some point. That being said, don't quote me on this.

And Lady Tomo was involved in the Western Calamity, wasn't she? Will she be mentioned in this questline?

@above: Shii mentioned it when I asked why Warlic triggered the Lokshaita (?) Shard.

Also Cray mentioned Lady Tomo was involved but her storyline isn't as pertinent to this upcoming saga.

Assuming that Warlic is similar to his Book 2 Dragonfable counterpart he was an infernal (pretty much big alien fire spirit) that decided to brek away from his heritage and become a human. In this case, he either just burns up with magic, or he could be an infernal in this case too.

The release was absolutely amazing, to the point where I'm not sure where to start.

I love the fact that Warlic stays true to his DF fighting style, and I had a lot of fun figuring out his gimmicks.

The story is very interesting, though I'm a little confused on when exactly it's taking place in the DF timeline and how exactly the situation escalated so far. Also, how did all the big guys (Artix, Galanoth, even Twilly) survive that? They seem like the type of folk that would have kept fighting on the frontlines until the bitter end. And how does the difference between the identities of AQ's and DF's Mysterious Necromancers work into this? And...

Well, let's just say I'll be following the new Saga closely.

P.S. I never played AQW, so I'm a bit uncertain on Seppy's backstory. Can someone more educated enlighten this poor ignorant soul?

There seems to be some new art for the undead giant (as well as the basher), which looks pretty nice.

Is Warlic's spellcaster lean the new standard? And if so, will we see more items with it in the future?

The rewards seem fairly good as well:

- The misc has several niche uses (backlashers and synergy with the war's weapon), but also seems to be good for FD mages who like to take as little damage as possible, especially considering the Cha save (also, I think it inflicts a stronger panic the more hits the monster lands? I do like those kinds of gimmicks).

- The spell crams in a lot of stuff and does a bit less damage than usual (the effects are paid for via damage reduction, right?), but overall seems to be a pretty good choice for both the classic playstyle and those who like to see big numbers. Also, a non-rare harm SPell for warriors!

Overall, great release and really ups the hype for the upcoming summer event.

I don't usually post on this corner of the Forums, but I feel as though this quest warrants as good an opportunity as any. Such a juicy quest!

Yes and no, I think. This event took place before before the Fire War with Akriloth and Drakonnan, which also takes place in Dragonfable Book 1. I think You're right about Drakath, though I can't imagine how that could've gone down, given that he needed the Orbs (and a certain undead dragon) to pull that off.

I believe he was forced into human form against his will. I don't think the lore was ever written in stone, but the Dragonfable community speculates that it this was done by Warlic's father as punishment for turning against him.

It'll be interesting to see what revelations we'll get from this questline, and what caused these two worlds to diverge so radically from each other...

@above, Looking through the origins of Xan's quests, Warlic "gained humanity and a second childhood." I believe Warlic chose to live out his life as a mortal, as he couldn't follow the same conquering warpath as his father. But I am unsure if that's still his backstory in this timeline.

@Primate Murder,

Sepulchure used to be one of King Alteon's elite knights, had a wife and presumably has a child in this storyline, though we haven't met Gravelyn yet in AQ I believe. In this timeline, it seems that Seppy asked Warlic to use his might to overthrow the Slugwraths', who were the rulers at the time. It seems like Seppy then took Drakath Slugwrath as his underling, and was subsequently betrayed, similar to Dragonfable and AQW. which leads us to this quest.

did the cinco doom mayo paintings return this year or did i miss them again. or will they return soon? i still need to get the ones i need if possible. oh did they change how you could get the paintings for them and the zardnado's ?

I don't know if it's gone yet, but it did come back. You can find it in a Random Adventure (mountains in Battleon).

I like to imagine Warlic and player are sitting together as Warlic tells his story and player is just like 'yeah, uhuh, interesting....hey....why do I keep gaining gold at random as you tell this story?'
