A Trail Gone Cold Location: Dragesvard's Shore -> Galanoth -> Quests! -> A Trail Gone Cold -> Quest! Requirements: Completion of Cold Call Release Date: November 14th, 2025 Objective: With the rift closed, the fungal mimics should be dying off. Why are some still fresh? Objective completed: You've found your quarry! Fresh Hollow Dravir are gliding from somewhere high up... Near the Ice Elf homelands. Experience rewarded: Scaled Gold rewarded: Scaled Monsters (2) Hollow Frost Goblin (3) Hollow Killguin (5) Hollow Mushroom (1) Hollow Tusker (1) Ice Dragon (7) Ice Elemental (3) Hollow Dravir - Boss NPCs Galanoth Vilmor Rewards Northscale Mask (I-V) Access to aTGC Loot for DCs. Dialogue Vilmor joins you as Guest A. Galanoth joins you as Guest B. *You, your dragon, Galanoth, Cryozen, and Vilmor are in Vilmor's cabin; Vilmor crafts a filter for her allies on their hunt's preparations.* Vilmor: There, that should suit your size better. Vilmor: I've made enough filters for a while, but hopefully we won't find anywhere as thick with spores as what <Character> described. <Character>: We're not spelunking into the body of another giant fungal horror... I hope. Still, it's good to be prepared. <Character>: I'm impressed you're set up for smithing and alchemy, out here on your own. Resources seem kind of scarce. Vilmor: It's nothing fancy. Vilmor: Just what I can prep for while on the move. I only fixed this place up enough to rest while we clean up the Northlands infestation. Vilmor: Which brings me to you. *Vilmor looks at Galanoth on why he is the only Dragonslayer here.* Vilmor: It's just you coming along, right? No other Slayers? Galanoth: Just me. No one's going to endanger your dragon. Vilmor: Good. *Scene zooms out as you stop Vilmor's hostility towards Galanoth.* <Character>: Alright, you're both obviously uncomfortable, for obvious reasons. <Character>: Can we work something out before we head out? I don't want any issues on the field. Vilmor: Alright. Cards on the table? I'm not comfortable with a Dragonslayer around Cryozen. Galanoth, you're about the only exception. Vilmor: I know you're all making progress out there. Opening eyes. That's good. And I get the need for an equalizer. Vilmor: But I personally can't take chances on people who think your right to live depends on being "one of the good ones". Vilmor: I'm not pushing my partner into so much danger again. So just tell me what you want from me. Galanoth: I'm coming to terms with a lot of this myself. I'm having to rebuild the trust of my own Slayers while getting them to see that. Galanoth: And even with the Great One dormant, there is all this tradition and reverence from the DragonLords. Galanoth: The Great One, for all the strange turns in life they dragged me to, started out as someone I could really talk to. Vilmor: You already have people you can talk to. You clearly have people you need to tell this to. Galanoth: Yes, but you can tell me how to get the DragonLords to give me some more space. Vilmor: Ha. Alright, maybe we can work something out after all. Thanks for getting us on the same page, <Character>. *Scene shifts to focus on you as Vilmor thanks you for stopping her hostility towards Galanoth; meanwhile, your dragon seems to be annoyed with Cryozen as he stops them from eating his food in his bowl.* <Character>: Don't mention it. I'm just... I'm really not used to things going so well when I ask people to be reasonable. Right... We can go now. *You are in a Northlands forest; you fight various monsters as you spot signs of Hollow activity; you must find and defeat 5 Hollow Mushrooms in order to proceed; after defeating all 5 Hollow Mushrooms, you go towards a mountain range, where you find a trio of Hollow Dravir; after defeating them, you relay the bad news about the Hollow Dravir to Galanoth, your dragon, Vilmor, and Cryozen.* <Character>: Hollow Dravir are really bad news. The infestation out here must have advanced really far if it was able to catch flying creatures. <Character>: I was hoping for more clues nearby, but we're running out of light and there isn't a trail. Vilmor: Let's camp before it gets too dark, we'll figure it out and keep going at dawn. *Now nighttime, you, Galanoth, and Vilmor sit around a campfire on their camp while your dragon and Cryozen are nearby; Galanoth asks a question to Vilmor.* Galanoth: I have a question. Don't answer if it's too personal. I've heard people call your dragon Cryozen Junior, or Junior. Galanoth: I've only heard you call him Cryozen when talking to us, though. Galanoth: I thought nothing of it at first, but... It got me thinking about something strange the Great One said about everyone they lost. Galanoth: About not always remembering their names, but knowing who they are. *Vilmor thinks before answering Galanoth's suspicions about the Great Dragons' identities.* Vilmor: ...Before you ask: Yes; there is more to it, but it's not something I'm prepared to explain in front of Cryozen. Vilmor: Let's focus on the job this time. <Character>: Let's put together what we know. These have to have been around for a while, so it's weird that they've only been seen recently. <Character>: I think we just saw the reason. <Character>: They definitely can't fly like Dravir, but they can glide. But when they got down below by gliding from here, they tried to climb back. Vilmor: That's what was tripping me up. There were only ever sightings, and they were gone by the time Cryozen and I flew over to investigate. Vilmor: I couldn't tell if the reports were wrong, or if something hid any time they saw a dragon flying. Either way, I couldn't keep wasting his energy. <Character>: Hunting on foot was the right call. <Character>: I think you're onto something. Hollow creatures mimic the habits of the real thing; they break that to hunt when they find prey. <Character>: What if what they're mimicking already acts like a hunter? Galanoth: I thought of that along the way. The prints didn't add up until we saw them, but it was like a clumsy version of a Dravir hunting party. Vilmor: Alright, so they've got the habits and instincts without the skills. Vilmor: Making a mess of prey, but covering their prints with their wings and hiding in snow. <Character>: If we head out early, we should be able to see them hunt or glide, then we can follow their origin. Vilmor: The problem is that if you're right, and these Hollow are mimicking a Dravir hunting party instead of single hunters or pairs of them... Vilmor: Then we're headed to Ice Elf lands, not Dravir homesteads. Right into Aisha's domain. Galanoth: Her again. Fun. Vilmor: Cryozen and I prefer to work on our own, but numbers will actually help this time. Just be careful and we'll be fine. Vilmor: Besides, the kiddos are having fun. *Scene shifts to Cryozen building a snowman with your dragon—still annoyed with Cryozen—taking the place of its head; scene cuts to black.* Complete Quest Loot for DCs - opens aTGC Loot for DCs shop. Other information 2 HP/MP healing pads can be found during the quest. Pop-up headlines during the quest: quote:
Vilmor: "We should look for traces of Hollow activity. There have to be clues around here." Galanoth: "Large feet, two legs, very light steps at first, then scrambling. It ruined the trail." Galanoth: "Hrm..." Vilmor: "This looks like jumping or heavy running. Definitely clawed." You spot a single footprint in a long, erratic groove in the snow. It's like someone swept over the tracks. Galanoth: "This one winds back, but the tracks are ruined after they turn around." Vilmor: "Heavy, clawed steps, dragging... These are landing spots! Let's find a higher view." Galanoth: "Something has definitely been hunting here. Messily." Next Up: ???
