Dialogue *In Willowshire's Guardian Tower, you and Fae have talked to Guardian Fortuna about the events leading to their arrival along with the Guardian Dragon; Fae can be seen holding a mug of coffee as your dragon is on top of the unconscious Guardian Dragon.* Guardian Fortuna: Now that you've had a little time to recover... I'm afraid things are even stranger than you know. Guardian Fortuna: ...I say that, but I'm still shocked that this is the Guardian Dragon... <Dragon>: This isn't funny, old guy, you can stop being sleepy and ugly now... | *Worried grumbling* <Character>: I'm glad you have a better idea of what's going on. What can you tell us? Guardian Fortuna: From what we can tell, it all started a few hours before you got here. The Guardian Dragon returned to us in the middle of the night. Guardian Fortuna: No fanfare, no forewarning, he just showed up to help the night watch against elementals. Guardian Fortuna: The last thing he said before flying off is that something was happening in the fissure, and to watch for threats from there. <Character>: The fissure? Guardian Fortuna: There is a huge crack in the land to the northeast. It was left after a recent earthquake and a great flood of white light in that direction. <Character>: ...That definitely sounds like it happened because of the battle at the big fissure. It should be contained now, but if more have opened up... <Character>: They could still be really dangerous. What can you tell me about this one? Is that what had the Guardian Dragon so worried? Guardian Fortuna: We were all already worried about that place. It was a chaotic mess when we first saw it. Guardian Fortuna: All sorts of creatures, overgrowth so high we almost missed the drop... You'd get sick just being near there. Guardian Fortuna: Then it was completely barren by the next trip. No more strange feelings. We thought the fissure had gone quiet. Fae: Did all the plants get turned into those monsters? Or... <Character>: Maybe. That place definitely didn't go back to normal on its own. Guardian Fortuna: I agree. I think we missed something down there. Guardian Fortuna: Something dangerous enough that the Guardian Dragon rushed off the moment we told him you were near there. Fae: He rushed off to protect us from something, and it knocked him out of the sky... *Suddenly, a Willowshire Guardian opens the door from outside; the message from him is urgent.* Guardian: Captain Fortuna! A horde from the east! They're chasing a rider! Guardian Fortuna: Get ready to bring them in! <Character>: I'll go help! *You are in Willowshire's outskirts; you fight various Bloodwrought monsters.* Guardian: It's those plant monsters again! They keep coming back with more numbers every time we repel them!, <Character>: I'll make sure none get away! Guardian: They could show up at any moment... How do they keep sneaking past us? *During your stroll, you see Valencia, who was the rider that one of the Guardians mentioned earlier.* <Character>: Valencia! Get in, the Guardians already know you're on the way!, Valencia: Thanks for the save! Sorry I can't help this time, I need to secure something! *After encountering Valencia, you then pursue the Bloodwrought monsters outside Willowshire.* *After defeating all of the Bloodwrought monsters, you regroup with Valencia and Fae in Willowshire's Guardian Tower, where Fae has told Valencia about the discovery of The Caretaker's Hold.* Valencia: Back up for a moment. You found what?! Fae: I know! But right now... Valencia: Sorry, yes. It's an incredible find, and I want you to tell me all about it later. *Scene shifts to the unconscious Guardian Dragon; Valencia looks at the unconscious Guardian Dragon in his bed.* Valencia: It can't be a coincidence that those plant monsters are after him too. You didn't catch any sign of what took him down? <Character>: No, it was too late. What's not a coincidence, though? *Valencia shows a wing piece; this piece is none other than that of the Blade of Awe.* Valencia: They were after this. Fae: ...That's really, really bad. Valencia: I've been patrolling some of the hiding spots since I saw that huge surge of light across the Deadlands. Valencia: <Character> did a good job hiding them, but with the way the land shook afterwards, I wanted to be safe. Valencia: I'm glad I followed that gut feeling. Just now, I barely managed to beat these creatures to the piece they were digging around. <Character>: How did they know where it was?! Valencia: I don't think they knew exactly where you put it. They were tearing up the whole area. It seemed random, until I got them riled up. Valencia: It's like something snapped when they grouped up, and they suddenly worked together perfectly. Kept cutting off my escape. Fae: It was like that when they surrounded <Character>. ...They can't just be a new type of elemental, right? Fae: Going after the Guardian Dragon and the Blade of Awe... We... We have to get to those pieces quickly, but what are we even going up against? *One of the Guardian Dragon's arms moves, causing the Blade of Awe part that Valencia is holding to glow by his hand; your dragon rolls away from him as the Guardian Dragon wakes up from his bed, who reveals Fae's answer.* Guardian Dragon: My brother. *Fae, Valencia, your dragon, and you are surprised that the Guardian Dragon's brother is responsible for the events leading to their current situation; scene cuts to black.* Complete Quest Loot for DCs - opens APoM Loot for DCs shop. Other information A checkpoint is placed on the screen after encountering Valencia; losing or fleeing will send you on that screen; going where Valencia is will launch a 'Leave Quest' confirmation box, where 'Yes' will teleport you to Falconreach (Books 3 and 4).
