If anything, we'd have to make sure we can hinder the defensive advantage the fortifications give to our enemy. Without siege weapons or sabotage, we would lose men for nothing.

I may have something in mind for how to get past the walls, but we'll see once things wrap up.

We have excellent scouts who have already made it into the base itself; I don't think it would be far-fetched for them to do something similar, except get on the walls and disable the scorpions/crossbows. Once those are out of the way, our forces could either storm through the gates as the enemy retreats, or use siege ladders to scale them and meet back up with the scouts. As long as hold those walls and maintain a defensive stand at the gate, we could use it as a chokepoint. However, I believe in the Middle Ages they used pig fat (which I believe is combustible) to sap enemy walls, and since I have some pigs we might be able to do that...?

All in all, however, I am not up for attacking the walls.

Posted one last time before the camp phase, the infiltration is wrapped up on my end.

Kellehendros -> RE: The Rise of Domrius - OOC (2/22/2015 18:21:43)

Draycos, I'm a bit confused by the candle bit. What exactly are they, and what are you doing with them? From what I'm gathering by reading, they're poisonous, but you're using them to set fire to a woodpile, so far as I can tell.

Draycos777 -> RE: The Rise of Domrius - OOC (2/22/2015 18:49:40)

No, that's only a hope. They're main purpose is to stall the building by using their paralyzing properties in the smoke on the builders as they come close to the wood. Whether the wood cases on fire and spreads is up to the wind right now. Ytha simply put them as close to the wood as possible to try and help it along.

Dragonnightwolf -> RE: The Rise of Domrius - OOC (2/23/2015 3:41:23)

Wait'll you see Thanisgard's camp phase. Ya'll are going to be in for quite the show this round.

It's going to either be semi-short, or really, really long. So get your eyes ready.

TJByrum -> RE: The Rise of Domrius - OOC (2/23/2015 5:56:01)

Can't wait DNW. So Trevor blames the death on the mages?

Dragonnightwolf -> RE: The Rise of Domrius - OOC (2/23/2015 22:56:38)

Nope. He blames the death on a specific Mage. The same one who earlier in the fight struck him dumb/deaf/blind with his magical tricks.

the same one, whose lightning attacks caused harm to the commander at the end of the battle.

Zephyrial -> RE: The Rise of Domrius - OOC (2/24/2015 0:33:45)

Well, you decided that last part for yourself. So you're clearly spoiling for a fight XD

Dragonnightwolf -> RE: The Rise of Domrius - OOC (2/24/2015 19:34:01)

Well while it's true I decided the last part. It's still your mages fault for the damage. :P

Kellehendros -> RE: The Rise of Domrius - OOC (2/25/2015 19:11:42)

Short post, but it is up. I didn't really frame anything for this morning, and my next post will actually deal with advancing plot. For now, if you guys want, you can take care of some camp stuff, and interact with each other.

I'll be looking to make my next post, pending activity, on 3/7.

The Gdoc and troop counts will be updated shortly.

Edit: Updates have been made.

Draycos777 -> RE: The Rise of Domrius - OOC (2/25/2015 19:28:36)

Ahha, look out Ishia. Ytha has a idea, an awful idea:P and you're not gonna like it.

Edit: is that suppose to be 2/27 for the deadline or 3/7?

Bastet -> RE: The Rise of Domrius - OOC (2/26/2015 10:37:12)

@Draycos I doubt Ishia will ever like any of Ytha's ideas [:D].

Post's up. If any of you need to speak with a Zaran representative, look for my man in the back of the tent. Especially Ytha.

Draycos777 -> RE: The Rise of Domrius - OOC (2/26/2015 10:39:07)

Ah, it seems Ytha has a whole day head start on Ishia if her master is talking to the commanders the day after the battle:P

Bastet -> RE: The Rise of Domrius - OOC (2/26/2015 10:43:21)

Oh, I just can't wait to see what Ytha will do with all this extra time being gifted to her.

TJByrum -> RE: The Rise of Domrius - OOC (2/26/2015 18:00:03)

Volrun questions the ulterior motives of defending Gripclaw Pass, expresses sorrow at Thomas' death and Trevor's mourning, thanks Aesa for her leadership, considers the fallout at Koros' death, feels guilty about the Varan absence, and heads off to offer condolences to Trevor Minx himself.

EDIT: I'm gonna see if DNW wants to collaborate.

Zephyrial -> RE: The Rise of Domrius - OOC (2/27/2015 17:21:53)

Posted.

Bastet -> RE: The Rise of Domrius - OOC (2/27/2015 18:10:20)

A small post to address Ytha's interest in speaking with Ishia. Sorry, Draycos [;)].

black knight 1234567 -> RE: The Rise of Domrius - OOC (2/27/2015 18:45:40)

Can we all pull swords at each other now? would be a cool scene haha.

Draycos777 -> RE: The Rise of Domrius - OOC (2/27/2015 18:47:56)

Err, Articis doesn't have a sword though:( It would be awkward if someone's head rolled by accident...

TJByrum -> RE: The Rise of Domrius - OOC (2/28/2015 10:43:36)

Hm. I'm not sure if the Commanders have already gathered in the strategy tent the next morning, or what.

Draycos777 -> RE: The Rise of Domrius - OOC (2/28/2015 10:49:11)

ah, some of us are just saying what our commanders are doing the night of the battle while the others have skipped over the night and went straight to the next morning. DNW added both into one post I think. I'll get to work on my command tent post once I get back home.

TJByrum -> RE: The Rise of Domrius - OOC (2/28/2015 10:57:43)

Oh, okay then, thanks Draycos.

I think we should take a moment to really consider our forces. Ytha's unit has 10 hidden weapon users, and I'm not even sure what there services are. All we've been doing is amassing our infantry in a single unit, when we should not be. If such soldiers as the Hidden Weapon Users and the Kulaki are better used elsewhere, perhaps we should use them accordingly, no?

I'd like to know who in all has ranged cavalry, and how many we have. I want to start considering grouping them in separate units. I would also like to know who has infantry and what they're better suited for. Some infantry are better at defending, some at attacking, while some are better at fending off cavalry.

Since I have two main groups, the Proven and the Huskarls, I'll go ahead and say that I can outfit the Varan to fit any of the three infantry types, though they're more suited to offensive tactics. With shields, they can be defensive, but throwing them into the enemy formation is what they're good at. With pikes they can fend off cavalry, but again, it would be better to use them as offensive infantry.

Dragonnightwolf -> RE: The Rise of Domrius - OOC (2/28/2015 11:54:49)

Trevor has 3 companies of cavalry. 2 main groups using sword/shield combos. Group C uses arrows, but during the last battle I lost a lot of men. It is still unknown at this time until Kell provides numbers, how many archers are left in group C.

I also lost a Subcommander this battle, so now I have just Cory and Harry backing up Trevor.

It is also unknown at this time how many horses i've lost, but I'm assuming here and now that it's a fairly big number.

Soon as I know the exact amount of casualties, I can give you an accurate number.

and yes, my post consists of both night after battle, and the next day.
