Witches of Torment

Example:

Effect:
  • Protections: Form Shift Immunity, Freedom (renamed to ‘Insanity’).
  • This is a double battle. There are two monsters, each with different effects. For simplicity, these will be referred to as the ‘Witch of Sorrow’ and ‘Witch of Anguish’.
  • If you ‘kill’ one witch, the other will skip their turn, but immediately gain a soft damage cap (Cap = 2.5% of Max HP, Clawback = 0.2). The following turn, the defeated witch will revive with full HP. I.e., To defeat the boss, you must defeat both witches within 1 turn of one another.
  • The monster uses any SP generated on its turn to create a Barrier (renamed to ‘Witch’s Circle’; scaled on monster INT). This is quickcast, so standard rules apply (e.g., cannot LS).
  • The Witches gain a bonus to DoT status damage based on the disparity between Monster/Player CHA.

    1) The Witch of Sorrow
  • While alive, the witch receives DoT status immunity (renamed to ‘Curse Nullification’).
  • If the boss has enough MP, it will be used to activate a skill that deals no direct damage but applies Bleed, Burn, and Poison (all Harm element, equal %Melee investment into each status; Monster INT/LUK vs. Player END/LUK)*.
  • If the boss does not have enough MP, she will heal MP. This will consume her own HP to enhance the healing effect. This can kill her (immediately triggering the soft cap application)**.

    *The Witch of Sorrow projects a wretched aura so potent that it begins to erode your physical body!
    **The Witch of Sorrow fuels her charm with her own blood!

    2) The Witch of Anguish
  • While alive, the witch will randomly lock one of your slots (Attack/Spells/Misc) for 1 turn (Monster CHA/LUK vs. Player INT/LUK)*.
  • If the boss has enough MP, it will be used on a spell that automatically hits, dealing Darkness damage. If you have any shield statuses (Chi Shield/Mana Shield/Barrier/Elemental Shield/Defence Boost), these statuses will automatically be broken**. She can use her own HP to enhance the attack, which can kill her (immediately triggering the soft cap application)***.
  • If the boss does not have enough MP, it will use a Darkness Magic attack. This will consume up to 200% Melee worth of Bleed/Burn/Poison status on the player to deal increased damage and have the attack deal a combination of Darkness and Harm damage****.

    *The aura of insanity projected by the witch temporarily causes you to forget how to use weapons/cast spells/use items!
    **The spatial attack shatters your barrier!
    ***The Witch of Anguish fuels her spell with her own blood!
    ****The Witch of Anguish tailors her spell to consume the physical manifestation of Sorrow!

    Appearance: These two. Open to artistic liberties on the spell animations.
    Description: The Witches of Torment were once talented young magicians tipped to make great contributions to magecraft. However, a series of tragedies drove one to madness, the other to despair. They have now turned their back on lore, seeking to share their despair with any and all who cross their paths with them.

    The Desolation of Charybdis
    MC Burst Water Spell/SPell. Two-stage attack. Attempts to inflict Fragile.

    Example Tier:
    Level: 150 Mastercraft
    PowerLvl: 153

    Price: 5940
    Sellback: 2970
    Location: Z-Token Shop
    hits: 6
    Element: Water
    Cost: 653 MP / 392 SP + 349 HP

    Effects:
  • Comes in Melee/Ranged/Magic flavours.
  • The first cast charges the spell, while the second cast fires. This provides 600% Melee to work with.
  • -10 BtH lean, deals *(85/75) damage to compensate.
  • The attack deals -33.33% damage (-200% Melee) and attempts to make your foe Fragile (200 / 0.5 * (85 / 75) / 10 / 1.2 = -37.78*[Water Res]*[Hits]/6 END; permanent)*. The monster can resist at a +0 Save Bonus**:

    PlayerLvl vs MonsterLvl
    Major: Player(STR/DEX/INT) vs MonsterDEX [Depends on spell type]
    Minor: PlayerLUK vs MonsterLUK

    *Based on the numbers of Santarctic Crusher. At 130% resistances, this should provide ~-49 END.

    **The catastrophic attack leaves your foe permanently broken!
    Your foe somehow manages to avoid the worst of the utter devastation!


  • The spell takes a further -4.167% damage (-25% Melee) and you gain Fragile potency +50 for zero turns, applied immediately before the attack.

    Appearance: On the first cast, a giant circular mouth with pointed teeth appears, consuming large quantities of water. In the second, amidst a storm, the same mouth unleashes large quantities of water to form a maelstrom, dealing the damage.
    Description: Legends speak of a sea monster who consumed and expelled huge quantities of water, producing violent maelstroms. This potent 2-turn spell functions was based on this legend, producing whirlpools powerful enough to leave your foe permanently fragile!

    Thanks to @JhyShy for suggesting I create something with this monster.

    Immortal Firebird of Wrath
    MC Fire Pet that targets HP and SP. Contains a skill that applies a permanent Fire Burn.

    Example Tier:
    Level: 150 Mastercraft
    PowerLvl: 153

    Price: 36,307,749
    Sellback: 18,153,875
    Location: LTS
    Element: Fire
    Damage: Ranged

    Effects:
  • Deals -25% damage (10% Melee). All Burns deal +25% damage (this is halved because the pet can inflict burn, see below).
  • Regular attacks is 2 hits of Fire element damage. The first targets monster HP and deals 66.67% of the total damage (20% Melee). The second hit deals 33.33% of the total and targets SP (*1.125 damage for targeting SP). The latter hit is an "other" type attack.
  • MC Effect: Click the bird to spend 490 SP on a 2-hit skill that scales on CHA. This attack deals -25% damage and attempts to Burn the monster (50 / 0.5 / 10 * (85/85) / 10 = Power 1; Permanent). The monster can resist at a +0 Save Bonus*:

    Major: PlayerCHA vs MonsterEND
    Minor: PlayerLUK vs MonsterLUK

    *The attack leaves your foe permanently ablaze!
    Your foe manages to endure the immortal flames!

    Description: This flaming fowl might be friendly towards you, but not so much your foe! Not only can it burn away their life and spirit, but it can even leave them covered in flames that will never burn out!

    Cathedral Crash
    MC Overcharged Earth Spell/SPell. Inflicts Bleed and Fragile.

    Example Tier:
    Level: 150 Mastercraft

    Element: Earth
    Cost: 653 MP + 196 SP

    Effects:
  • Comes in Melee/Ranged/Magic flavours.
  • Deals -30% damage (75% Melee) and attempts to make your foe Fragile (75 / 0.5 * (85 / 85) / 3 / 1.2 = -41.67*[EarthRes]*[Hits]/5 END; 3 turns)*. The monster can resist at a +0 Save Bonus**:

    PlayerLvl vs MonsterLvl
    Major: Player(STR/DEX/INT) vs MonsterDEX [Depends on spell type]
    Minor: PlayerLUK vs MonsterLUK

    *Based on the numbers of Santarctic Crusher. At 130% resistances, this should provide ~-54 END.

    **The crushing weight leaves your foe broken and fragile
    Your foe manages to avoid the full weight of the collapsing building!


  • Deals a further -30% damage (75% Melee) and attempts to make your foe Bleed (75 / 1 / 100 * ( 85 / 85) = 0.75 Power). This has a +0 Save Bonus*:

    *Shrapnel from the collapsing building lacerates your foe
    Your foe manages to endure the worst of the shrapnel!


  • MC Effect: Bleed save is -20 instead of +0.

    Appearance: A large gothic cathedral is dropped from the sky onto the monster. As it hits, the building collapses and deals further damage.
    Description: If a sword won't get the job done, drop a cathedral your enemy instead! This inefficient attack will damage your foe, as well as leave them bleeding and broken!
