Zodiak 15 -> RE: Black Rose Cafe [Archived] (12/14/2008 22:17:52)

Art is whatever you want it to be. A hobby, a job, an escape, an adventure, a habit, an addiction. Art plays a role in everyone's life whether they realize it or not.

Artimus -> RE: Black Rose Cafe [Archived] (12/16/2008 20:49:11)

Well, it's been over 24 hours so...

Do you usually listen to music while you create your art or critisize other people's pieces. If so, what kind do you listen to? Or, if you don't, do you just think it stops your thought process?

EDIT: Zodiac, so true, so true, and alot of people in the world don't even realize it.

Zodiak 15 -> RE: Black Rose Cafe [Archived] (12/16/2008 22:35:57)

Music doesnt really impact me one way or the other. What usually impacts my art is something like the weather outside or the news. (Crazy as that may sound) I enjoy music but it doesnt affect or integrate with my art.

Mo -> RE: Black Rose Cafe [Archived] (12/16/2008 22:40:48)

For me, music is a distraction from a lot. I only really listen to it on its own, playing a game, or watching TV

DragonYugi -> RE: Black Rose Cafe [Archived] (12/17/2008 12:24:00)

Well I don't really listen to music while creating something.... It distracts me.. One second I'm doing an animation and the next second I'm listening to music without carring about the art.. :P So I don't listen to music ^^

TheShadowed1 -> RE: Black Rose Cafe [Archived] (12/17/2008 17:48:37)

oh never
i need music
it's going on at all times in my life
driving, studying, bathing
even when i sleep

big inspiration in my life, and it brings about a few great pieces every now and then

TreadLight -> RE: Black Rose Cafe [Archived] (12/17/2008 18:04:26)

I can't not listen to music.

It is a part of me, and I can't get that taken away.

I love music too much. :)

The One To Rule -> RE: Black Rose Cafe [Archived] (12/17/2008 18:15:45)

Music always impacts my art.

Take my Owl City tag. It's colorful, bright, and fluffy.
In the making of that tag, I was listening to Owl City, a cheery band.

Now, if I would have been listening to, say, Waking the Cadaver, then it would have turned out a lot different.

illusion99 -> RE: Black Rose Cafe [Archived] (12/19/2008 2:03:52)

its been over 24 hours..........
so how does music inspire you work?

DragonYugi -> RE: Black Rose Cafe [Archived] (12/19/2008 5:19:12)

Well since I don't listen to music, it doesn't inspire me in any way.

TreadLight -> RE: Black Rose Cafe [Archived] (12/19/2008 7:20:24)

Metallica, Pantera, Killswitch Engage, Mushroomhead, Slipknot, Funtwo (seriously :O), Unearth, Opeth, and Meshuggah.

There's got to be more, but I can't think of any others. :)

Artimus -> RE: Black Rose Cafe [Archived] (12/21/2008 22:49:08)

Geuss I'll change the topic

What about pivot stickfigure animator? a couple months ago and you hear that word you would've said "what the heck are you talking about??" but now it's spreading like a contagious virus, and alot of people like it, what's your opinion on it?

illusion99 -> RE: Black Rose Cafe [Archived] (12/22/2008 20:27:51)

I've only used is once ,but it's very nice and fun

Viking_Jorun -> RE: Black Rose Cafe [Archived] (12/22/2008 20:40:20)

I really like it. It adds a whole new dimension to art, rather than having animations where you need to make alot of complex frames, (they're complex to me) this is a new easy, and fun way.

DragonYugi -> RE: Black Rose Cafe [Archived] (12/23/2008 2:17:22)

Quite funny and addictive I guess.

.Shadow// -> RE: Black Rose Cafe [Archived] (12/23/2008 2:23:37)

What inspires you to do art?
For me, it is the great comments I will (hopefully) get back.

DragonYugi -> RE: Black Rose Cafe [Archived] (12/23/2008 4:57:58)

@.Shadow//: 24 hours didn't pass since last reply sorry ^^

TheShadowed1 -> RE: Black Rose Cafe [Archived] (12/23/2008 16:51:39)

eh it's actually not that new
it ran a quick plague in my school for a bit last year
and everyone was into it
it's great for the beginner, or the casual time-waster
but for the real and serious animator, it's jsut a toy

TreadLight -> RE: Black Rose Cafe [Archived] (12/23/2008 17:07:29)

I used Pivot around the time it came out... many years ago. I really did not like it.

Sanguine -> RE: Black Rose Cafe [Archived] (12/23/2008 19:09:54)

I wouldn't say it has recently 'spread like wildfire.' I remember a few years ago it just hit the AQ forums, that was the first surge. Now, I'd actually say it has died down. Like TreadLight, I never really like Pivot. It's more of a noice application to get into animation.

Reni -> RE: Black Rose Cafe [Archived] (12/23/2008 19:14:34)

I think that DragonYugi really started the whole pivot thing, kudos to him (sorry if i'm wrong about that.). I've never tried it, but it seems like good fun. Though, as Theshadowed1 said, i doubt that its capabilites extend much above fun.[;)]

DragonYugi -> RE: Black Rose Cafe [Archived] (12/24/2008 5:33:57)

Well a combination of Pivot Art and Flash coding would make miracles.. to bad I'm a noob in flash :P

illusion99 -> RE: Black Rose Cafe [Archived] (12/25/2008 22:30:22)

24 hour is over now right?

Sooooo,What inspired you to make art works or edits?

Artimus -> RE: Black Rose Cafe [Archived] (12/25/2008 23:02:00)

well, pivotmasterDX (on youtube) inspired me to start using pivots

Reni -> RE: Black Rose Cafe [Archived] (12/28/2008 7:48:51)

I started doing edits after seeing all the edits and stuff on the "Post your Df edited pics here". I'm now into Flash, and i'd have to credit the DF team and Tomix for inspiring me with that.[;)]
