Any news on the much talked about, but forever delayed buff to the mercenary class?

Are going to introduce a passive rage booster? I really don't understand what the delay is. There is no animation required, just coding and a small picture to show the skill...

You don't have to be Einstein to work out that the class is underpowered to the extent that it has been almost totally deserted by the community. Having some semblance of class balance would be appreciated by the few who have stuck with this class... I don't need to see balance tracker numbers to know that it is underperforming, I just want to know why the developers have ignored this for so long. It's a joke that Tech Mages got buffed when there is a class performing far worse or was that because the balance team has class favorites...

I am sick of this inequity, bad balance, call it what you like but it is time to fix it! Meh, can't wait for oversoul where it is classless and skills are randomly generated... Sort of Wizard101 meets Epic Duel with AQW art ;)

Luna_moonraider, putting a requirement on weapons with no requirement is not taking away its damage potential so it will not be a nerf. It is fine and dandy that they supported during Alpha and Beta but that is no reason not to put requirements on those weapons. Because Alpha and Beta weapons have no requirement there is no reason for them buy the promos anymore thus buying no Artix points to buy the varium thus not supporting the game as much or at all like they use too. Like the rest of us that brought promo packages not only for one account but two accounts since the accounts where created some even have more than two accounts but we get punished with weapons with requirements for supporting the game through Gamma and Delta and into the future while the ones that use the Beta weapons which show little support to the game being to have stat free range. Because those Players could get stats to go beyond the chart lists and have high health and energy are causing classes look like they are performing better than they should.

When it comes to balance nothing should be left out especially the proper placement of requirements on all weapons.

Dude. Beta Weapons do not support STR Builds. Even if they do, I doubt you'd lose to one.

They should focus on the STAT of STR itself in my opinion, not the weaponry.

Wepons arnt the problem there an influencing side effect.

To much stats and a lack of downside for abusing it is the problem.

So... When is strength going to be nerfed... I can't believe that anyone who can strike 15-20 everytime on 40-48 defense, WHILE gaining hp back turn, can just be in the game. Also, raging superfast, and hitting closer to 40 every 4 turns, is just a little to OP for my taste...

And when the do evetaly nerf them I support similar changes made to tanks preferably at the same time so people dont switch to one thing then complain more when its also changed.

Tanks and 5 focus, not really much, you could say support but BM and BH really don't have great skills that rely on support.

With no oped build styles things can finally go back to the way things were in beta, and thats full of vareity!


Dont assume nerfing the oped builds leads to nothing when infact it leads to everything.

Does support strength build if weapons has 10 enhancements and no requirements with high health and high energy they can easily have 166 (34-41) or greater strength, can anyone get that high and you complain about strength Blood Mages without the Beta or Alpha weapons equipped but won't complain about the strength Blood mages with the weapons without requirements that can get super high strength and think about a tact merc being able to get super high strength without field commander on then just imagine with field commander on and max double strike pretty much instant kill. Just imagine a support tact merc/merc having 166 (34-41) or greater support the damage level of the Aux and multi. I seen a Cyber Hunter having Dex so high it is not even listed on the stat progression table.

If having weapons with all 10 enhancements slots and no requirements a reward for supporting the game then any players that buys the promo pack those weapons should get 10 enhancement slots each with no requirements, include the bot the primary, the sidearm, and the Aux as a thank you for continuing to support the game.

Balance should be across the board from skills to weapons and nothing or no one should be exempt.

You can't really weaken/nerf STR builds at the moment unless you give bounties a buff. Bounty is totally on STR builds, otherwise their bloodlust wouldn't be effective, and therefore, their only chance of winning would be very slim. Their whole skill tree is based on STR builds, clearly you can tell when you see Massacre, bloodlust, smoke, SA, and cheap shot. If you take down STR effectiveness then Bounties would be, well, useless. They can hardly have tank builds or anything else. The only build left for them is probably poison or 5-focus. And seeing that their non var bots, it would be the only choice for bounties, making them less diverse than what they already are. Bear in mind i used to bounty and i had it as starter class so i know more of it than any other class I have been. And it's already stuck on builds, so we could make one of their abilities improve with something, so that STR build nerf wouldn't affect them completely.(I'm currently not on STR builds.)

Either Bounty has bloodlust improve with something(support? idk) so that STR takeaway wouldn't make their BL permanently useless. Or we could give them back diamond blades, but just make it a bit weaker than before. Or if anyone else make suggestions.

^ Actuly no,

Focus BHs were the best builds for a long time before the new classes.
But this build died when extra enahments were made and Powerbuild started to dominate.

Without The extereme degree of power the STr builds have BH will be fine, there STR build will still be usable but it may require thinking. And there focus build or balanced build would aslo be great agian.

BHs once had HEAPS of options aswell as most classes before STR builds and power builds destroyed this variety.

It depends . I just met a LVL 33 Mostly Var TM with a MAXED Plasma Bolt and Plasma Rain , without Malf . I just took me 2 EMPs to beat him w/o blocks / defelcts , just shielding and striking . Also , i think it's enhancements that's making them exist .


NOTE : The reason i beat him it's because he was spending 9 points for Plasma Bolt , 1 point for Overload , 10 points for Plasma Rain , 1 from Bludgeon 4 for Field Medic , 1 from Technician and the rest for Reroute . Plus , he was using Caden's Wrath ( for more TECH ) for primary and his LVL 1 DM every time it's available while him not dealing much damage from me .

Yes, but as we all know, the developers aren't going to remove enhancements, and are probably not going to reduce their amount either. /shrug

Almost everyone in this thread say its bad and almost all people blame enhaments yet they do nothing....

I Refuse to actuly play this game because all that happens is a get destroyed by effortless powerabusers.
For every release they ignore balance thats another week they disapoint there long time supporters and another week we get ignored.

Epic em getting tired and tired of this OP classes with passive armors emp , atom smash shadow arts and so on many of those players have no skill whatsoever they rely on tank defences thanks to the extra 44 stats point more or less they get from their passive armors they simply abuse the stats and heal loop and wait for rage that only makes the battle dag and drag and drag just fix this ASPA people are getting tired remove passive armors make the game creative people need to use their brain to win.

^ Agreed, Both CHs and TLMs shouldnt have passive armour.

Mercs should be the only class with it.

BUt if this is changed TLMs should gte back smoke and CHs there static charge improved agian.

As we all know, before CH received PA, everything was 'ok' i guess other than the fact that TLM was quite OP. But i doubt BALANCE TEAM would go back to original status, even if it meant better than now. I mean, if they did that, then everything in the first place would all be unnecessary, which caused quite a bit of shock and anger to some people. As ED will always do, it will move forward, not backwards, regardless of the case whether moving forward is good or not. ED has changed to a most complex game, and one change, can affect the entire society of ED.

My main point is the balance team might not make TLMs and CHs back in their original type. They might take away passive armors on CH and TLM, but then STR builds should be lowered. And that has already been going successful after the new Bio-Borg came out. I look forward to see hoe BioBorg works, and i hope it has an effect on STR builds. But then we go back to other problems such as Bounty builds, mage caster, BM STR, Enhancements, and so on.

Overall ED is taking its time(as usual), all we need/should do, is wait and see what happens. Any suggestions on improvements, shall be seen to by the Balance Team. For a start, the BioBorg is a good step in balance issues.
