@Depressed Void: You have to remember that as the fight gets longer the skill becomes more useful. It may only get you rage 1 turn sooner the first time, but then your next rage is 2 turns sooner (1 turn sooner the first time, then another turn for the 2nd), and then 3 turns sooner, and so on. It isn't nearly as beneficial to quick kill builds as it is to tanks who have battles that often last 10-20 turns where it can compound on itself. Of course, the numbers can always be adjusted if it is seen to be too strong or too weak.

Well thank you for the response Illuminator, my only possible issue I could have is battles lasting much less than 5 turns where someone dies and the rage gain was comparable to gaining 1 point of damage (if rage could be converted to damage that is).

PivotalDisorder -> RE: =ED= March 20th Design Notes (3/23/2012 19:21:00)

ty trans.

can't wait to see the new formula for rage, got so many questions cause the gain must be measurable from level 1 to level 10 right.
just seems very complicated considering how many "actions" increase rage for you and your enemy. making my head hurt thinking
about damage, damage reduced by defences, blocks, crits and deflects, non damaging abilites and so on.

Basicball -> RE: =ED= March 20th Design Notes (3/23/2012 19:23:29)

LOL

brachylagus is epic looking in battle (and so is capensis, of couse)

Illuminator -> RE: =ED= March 20th Design Notes (3/23/2012 19:37:35)

@Depressed Void: I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. Rage always raises your damage by more than 1 damage since it ignores 45% of defense, unless they only have 1-2 defense. Or are you saying that in a 5 turn battle both players would rage anyways and the merc wouldn't get to their 2nd rage so the passive is essentially useless? In that case, yes it is somewhat useless as it didn't benefit you in a direct way. But mercs weren't really too far behind, most of the battles that I lost I just barely lost, and having rage a little sooner could have won it for me. We didn't want to buff mercenaries too much since they really weren't extremely under powered, we don't want to make another class crazy overpowered. And like I said, we can always adjust the numbers if needed.

PivotalDisorder -> RE: =ED= March 20th Design Notes (3/23/2012 19:45:26)

now that made sense ^^

mercs haven't been that bad for awhile, but too many want to promote their own class by claiming weakness.

Basicball -> RE: =ED= March 20th Design Notes (3/23/2012 19:46:13)

it raises your damage by a minimum of 10 actually.

P.S.: here's to those who needed help with the quests (Spoiler)

What I was saying is comparable to, as stated, "it is somewhat useless as it didn't benefit you in a direct way".

The good thing I would have to say that the skill is not similar to Shadow Arts as rage can be controlled and measured, unlike luck (that word is cliche). Every turn, yes, the rage could build up, triggering rage in the latter.

But I have just thought of something... what if... the rage is blocked or deflected? The attack would come to nothing. After all, rage is not really there until activated. Hybrid Armour is constant, Bloodlust is constant during attacks, Shadow Arts is infrequent, Reroute is constant during defending, and Deadly Aim is constant during Sidearm shots. Rage requires 2 very detrimental conditions, the rage bar is filled, and the attack hits completely. Maybe rage is, although a good idea, possibly too infrequent. I support rage, but maybe too great values can be exploited.

I am not sure... maybe the passive should just change the way rage behaves. Maybe the damage of rage could be increased, as critical hits have a specified minimum, maybe allow rage attack to return energy upon usage. I am not sure, but rage is somewhat iffy as seen in a passive skill.

To conclude, rage is not as frequent as the other passives, but perhaps rage itself may be hitting too great damage. We will just see, I may only suspect that the window of balance for Adrenaline to reach is small, as I can tell that it may be fatally underpowered, or overpowered/

Rayman -> RE: =ED= March 20th Design Notes (3/23/2012 20:20:05)

Does anyone know what other Npc can be killed for slayer mission besides Exile guard and shadow guard?

drinde -> RE: =ED= March 20th Design Notes (3/23/2012 20:20:34)

Any reason it resembles the Bionic Battle Eyes?

Creeps me out :3

PivotalDisorder -> RE: =ED= March 20th Design Notes (3/23/2012 20:27:23)

@Depressed Void: if your rage is blocked or deflected, you will still get another rage quicker than you would before
sounds like a problem we all have with rage anyway, whether to use an unblockable skill or risk an attack that could be deflected or blocked.
blood lust doesn't give as much HP if you are deflected, and none if you are blocked. reroute gives less energy back if you deflect them and
none if you block. I haven't started using the skill so you know more than I do, but this part I think is fine.

Fay Beeee -> RE: =ED= March 20th Design Notes (3/23/2012 20:31:29)

@PivotalDisorder pm'd you about it. :)

drinde -> RE: =ED= March 20th Design Notes (3/23/2012 20:32:38)

The drums of war? WHAT?!

Cinderella, your rabbits are TOTALLY EVIL. -.-

Mr. Black OP -> RE: =ED= March 20th Design Notes (3/23/2012 20:33:16)

Shortcut to slayer's ruby mission: Fight Negawraith 25 times, you can fight him an infinite times per hour AND he only has 50 health and low defense.

drinde -> RE: =ED= March 20th Design Notes (3/23/2012 20:34:55)

Thanks for the helpful tip. :D

LadyHeartbreak -> RE: =ED= March 20th Design Notes (3/23/2012 20:39:24)

that tip was a bit late xD Finished all the missions and got an achievement worth 750 rating points, not much but it was fun :)

Anyone knows what I'm suppose to do with the blueprint scrap?

Fay Beeee -> RE: =ED= March 20th Design Notes (3/23/2012 20:56:29)

LOL I have a scrap too:)

drinde -> RE: =ED= March 20th Design Notes (3/23/2012 20:57:39)

Think its for Ully.

DeathGuard -> RE: =ED= March 20th Design Notes (3/23/2012 20:58:36)

Ulysses has only one quest and is the one that receives the 8 gems

Fay Beeee -> RE: =ED= March 20th Design Notes (3/23/2012 20:59:24)

^ Nope. At least not right now. lol

drinde -> RE: =ED= March 20th Design Notes (3/23/2012 20:59:27)

Uhm.... Cottontail?

Mr. Black OP -> RE: =ED= March 20th Design Notes (3/23/2012 21:02:33)

^
Already checked.

DeathGuard -> RE: =ED= March 20th Design Notes (3/23/2012 21:06:51)

Try with Mirv maybe

Dreiko Shadrack -> RE: =ED= March 20th Design Notes (3/23/2012 21:08:20)

Hmmm mysterious scrap for a future release, interesting.

Also,
spoiler:

The slayer's Reign in Blood mission is a bit borked, he asks you to "kill" a long list of dudes but really all you need to do is fight negawraith 25 times and that's equally acceptable...which is a bit idiotic. :/

Cinderella -> RE: =ED= March 20th Design Notes (3/23/2012 21:11:32)

the blueprint scrap is for a future quest line. Also, accept the gift I've given for that one quest without too much whining :P

Edit: I was kidding with the whining.Just being jocular
