  • Passives

    • Regenerates «SPRegen» per turn. This is on top of the healing stated below.
    • Heals «SP Heal» SP and «MP Heal» MP each turn. If he is full on MP, he heals twice the usual SP amount.
    • If he has >1/3 HP, he spends «SP1Cost» SP to inflict you with a random status*. You can resist** this.
    • If he has <1/3 HP, he spends «SP1Cost» SP each turn to heal some HP.
  • Attacks
    • Default attack is Dark+Fire.
    • If you have any statuses (Crippled, Bleed, Afraid, Blind, Poison, Burn), then he spends «SP2Cost» SP and does a Darkness skill. This consumes the statuses, and does additional damage based on the statuses.
    • If he has «MP Cost» MP, then he spends MP to do his Spirit Rend attack. This is Light, and can leave you with the Spirit Rend status. You can resist†† this. The status has a chance of instantly killing any undead players.
    • If you're inflicted with Spirit Rend, then he does his Dark+Fire attack.
    *You are overcome by necromantic energy!
    **You resist the surge of necromantic energy.
    ***You feel a surge of necromantic energy, but are immune to it!
    †You are overcome by direct damage to your soul!
    ††You fight off the necromantic attack.
    †††Your soul is immune to such attacks!

    Immunity status messages are placed in the entry in the situation that an item does grant such an immunity. Instantly killing undead players for Spirit Rend was a status that has been present as far as I know since the monster's release, and this information was provided to me from IMR.     That's correct. It's intentional, since you can't be immune to the status normally (without a specific item), as compared to save rolls for the respective statuses, and saying "you get a different message if you are immune" seems a little awkward in the overall entry. I'll review the entries that have such (there are a few) and see if it's necessary to add an immunity statement to correspond to the respective symbol.

    I would also like to note here that just because a status message is present does not mean it is "reachable", i.e. an item that grants immunity to a particular status may not be available as of yet. The message is added now to prevent additional workload of combing through all the entries that deal statuses, just to add in the immunity statement in future. ~whacky

    NOTE: He has some sort of healing ability, but I can't figure out the pattern. It might only activate if you've been inflicted with bleed(?).

    DESCRIPTION
    One of the four Horsemen, Famine is the antithesis of his sister Serenia, the goddess of the harvest. Where she encourages growth of life, Famine destroys and consumes!

    Trivial: updated the DROUS's description. It's now the same for both:

    Nightbane (all versions) has been updated; attacks are no longer random, his fire/dark breath attack occurs when his SP bar reaches a certain point, and the void/harm attack is not hitting as hard.

    On the flipside, the stats appear to have been tweaked to properly fit each version of Nightbane, including level 500.

    I assume IMRy would have the numbers to give Nightbane an updated encyclopedia entry.

    The Element Modifiers of Mighty Shadow Hydra are off, looks like Ice or Earth got skipped over and the 100 (for Void I assume) ended up on Darkness. They should be 75, 40, 75, 50, 50, 90 (on Energy), -40, -40.

    The skill cost for Cyberchaun, at least for the level 115, is off. It does regen 51 SP per turn, but the skill doesn't cost 226. That would make it use its skill at 175 SP, but when I fought it, it had exactly 175 SP and still did it's normal energy attack. The next turn, it had 226 SP and used its skill, bringing it down to 28 SP. So, the skill costs 249 SP (226+51-28) and should be expected when it has 198 SP.
    Skill costs at other levels also look wrong, Giant Cyberchaun's value look wrong too. Pretty sure when I fought the level 100 and 102, respectively, the skills were used at ~164 and ~169 SP (before adding the turns SP regen), but am not fighting them anymore, so can't confirm. Giant Cyberchaun (117) uses a skill that costs 253 SP. O'Meany has correct values.

    edit: Uncle Sham's stats and ele mods are very wrong, guess the monster entries haven't been updated since the quest or something? level 120 has str 200, int 200, luk 175, 66%, 66, 66, 66, 66, 66, 27, 61% if it's needed. His Luck seems to increase by 5 each turn and his ele mods change slightly, not going to try to figure the latter out.

    ^^I happen to have a bit more detailed info about the discrepancies in the monster entries from the Communicant Set quest admahu posted about; the notes below were made about a year ago when I was doing the quest with my main character, so there's a slight chance they are not 100% up to date:


    Cyberchauns and Giant Cyberchauns of all levels are using 10% more SP for their skill attacks than indicated in the entries (the decimal values are rounded normally, for Giant Cyberchaun lvl102 the cost is 215SP); the Regen values are all correct.

    Uncle Sham has defenses and element modifiers which exactly correspond to the Communicant Set armor and shield he is wearing, so that the modifiers for lvl120 are 21% for Light, 67% for Darkness, and 66% for the rest; for lvl135 these would be correspondingly 16%, 63% and 62%; the stats except LUK are as indicated, but his LUK changes during the battle: it starts at values below normal and increases by 5 every turn before his attack; the starting values are: 10 at lvl11, 80 at lvl45, 160 at lvl120, 195 at lvl135 and ??? at lvl150 (sorry, cannot check this); the message which appears during the stronger attack of the lvl135 version (and perhaps also the lvl120 and lvl150 ones) is different: "Luck o' th-- whoa, watch out! The stolen armaments are resonating with divine power!". [I also have to add that I've never noticed any of his elemods change during a battle.]
