cool preston -> In a Perfect world what would you change in Epicduel? (5/13/2013 23:44:38)

So say the devs give us one day to implement ideas what would you do?

this is not a ridiculous I want to deal 10k damage thread.

This is a what would you change in epicduel thread.

For starters I would FIX mercenary/

kosmo -> RE: In a Perfect world what would you change in Epicduel? (5/13/2013 23:56:03)

I wanna deal 10k dmg rlly bad

TRizZzCENTRINO -> RE: In a Perfect world what would you change in Epicduel? (5/13/2013 23:59:43)

@above try to respect other's thread by not saying ridiculous things, especially when he mentioned not to.

i would want ED to have 4 events happening at once with tons of item, battle token rewards and drops, only a few credit rewards so varium would still be useful.

goldslayer1 -> RE: In a Perfect world what would you change in Epicduel? (5/14/2013 0:18:59)

Balance:
1) i would implement the Custom Skilltree idea
2) Balance out the stat system (this includes HP and EP)
3) balance the skills within the Custom Skill tree system.

4) make adjustments to the match making system for solo, team and jugger.

Faction:
1) Faction Improvements
2) Fix the influence system/issues for players and factions.
3) Adjust the flag system to make it more on par to the balance the game has at that time.
4) Lower the number of members a faction can have from 18 to 12.

Items:
1) change the varium to non varium items.
Varium items (frostbite claws, beast rider, etc) should remain varium and not available for credit prices.
this puts a differential between varium quality items to non var items.

the difference would be solely art. non vars would still have items of the same power, but art wise they wouldn't be the same.
this puts more value on varium items in terms of art.

2) on my stat system idea i mention changing how much stats each item gives, to make the progression in stats per level make more sense.
which in term, also helps out with some other ideas i mentioned before.

NPCs:
1) Bring back NPC wins but alter them to give no credits after X level, exp after X level.
what this essentially does is allow players an escape from the usual pvp without rewarding them credits and EXP.
so if theres a new item they want, or level cap is released, they will have to do real battles to get credits and exp.
credits and exp should still however be given to lower levels (there should be a ratio that decides what levels) to help them out.

2) Add NPCing for team and juggernaut aswell.
if NPCing for solo is 15 hourly wins, then team and jugger should be 5 hourly wins.

3) change NPCing difficulty to be based on the player's level
back then people usually farmed NPCs that were 5 levels lower than them, giving people the assumption that they were too easy.
while at the same time players had adapted builds to be good against NPCs because they fought the same ones constantly.

4) Change boss difficulty to be based on player's level
as levels get higher, bosses become easier because they remain the same and dont "level up"

so things like damage output/defense, health/energy should be based on the player's level.
this makes it so that bosses provide the same amount of difficulty at all levels.

NOTE: some suggestions are linked so players have a general idea of what im talking, and how such idea would look like in the game.

if this were 1 update, well it would be a big one :D
although i personally feel it would be a huge improvement. pretty much a new game if u think about it.

midnight santa -> RE: In a Perfect world what would you change in Epicduel? (5/14/2013 1:01:42)

I will delete gamma, delta and omega.

i also added this idea to my other posts.

CN2025 -> RE: In a Perfect world what would you change in Epicduel? (5/14/2013 1:29:13)

my frost slayer isn't special now cuz of frost shards and i had to sell my delta sword 4 it D: at the time frost slayer was on par with delta destroyer but now its very WEAk

Noobatron x3000 -> RE: In a Perfect world what would you change in Epicduel? (5/14/2013 3:16:34)

Honestly this may sound a little harsh but i would like punishment jobs to be lost when severe errors are made maybe this would motivate staff more.

Zeruphantom -> RE: In a Perfect world what would you change in Epicduel? (5/14/2013 3:22:15)

Remove the Azrael sidearm and aux from the game. It's far too overpowered.

Also, I would eliminate Tech Mages who use the common str/support build. It's too common and annoying.

JariTheMighty -> RE: In a Perfect world what would you change in Epicduel? (5/14/2013 5:26:59)

I would have diminishing returns removed and have another ways of balancing the game. In my opinion the game got a little bit more boring because of diminishing returns and seeing big numbers is always nice anyways.

Actually I would have the whole stat system reworked. At the moment the numbers in this game are way too small to work properly, for example % based skills would round up/down more accurately with big numbers. Also, we wouldn't need 4 stat points to increase damage, instead every stat point would have an effect.
Big numbers would open up some possibilities that are currently out of the question, and they would add some epic feel to EpicDuel, because dealing 10 damage per turn isn't that epic if you ask me.

Ranloth -> RE: In a Perfect world what would you change in Epicduel? (5/14/2013 8:08:04)

Add more Moosey stuff. }:3

Trae -> RE: In a Perfect world what would you change in Epicduel? (5/14/2013 9:13:49)

I would add new classes or more skills to each class
Sidenote Zeruphantom wants me erased from Epicduel

Stabilis -> RE: In a Perfect world what would you change in Epicduel? (5/14/2013 9:18:41)

If you add moose and assorted moose things I will add spinosaurus. Just a warning.

Cookielord12 -> RE: In a Perfect world what would you change in Epicduel? (5/14/2013 11:36:44)

Custom skill trees/more classes, more challenge NPCs and more ways to get credits.

Mother1 -> RE: In a Perfect world what would you change in Epicduel? (5/14/2013 11:46:58)

Delete Omega, delta, gamma, and beta.

The Incredible Hulk -> RE: In a Perfect world what would you change in Epicduel? (5/14/2013 12:07:06)

^^

Did you mean to start ED all over again?

Renegade Reaper -> RE: In a Perfect world what would you change in Epicduel? (5/14/2013 12:21:27)

I would remove the copied Frost Destroyer effect from cores you can buy. I bought the frost promo pack, and I thought I had a unique skill for myself. I was VERY offended when the devs copied it and let the masses be able to buy it. It's a core from a PROMO guys, it should stay on the weapons in that promo ONLY. I do actually use the core in a sword, but I would like the
devs to recall it and give refunds to players who purchased it. If the devs want to copy promo cores like that, I would have them make the Azrael's Will core copied and made available to the masses as well. What was that, Devs? You won't do that? But you copied this other core, so what makes Azrael cores special? Lame.

Skill trees as in WoW would be neat here. You could make so many builds with that amount of skills to choose from, battles would be much more interesting. People could still copy builds, but there would be so many ways to counter builds that you could actually have fun designing a build again. I would also remove useless skills or at least make them useable again.

I would change the NPC's power to be more on par with players. I would remove the credit limit per day simply because if you want to waste your time making credits by fighting generic, boring NPC's, then that's your decision. I would keep the exp limit on them though. No tokens from them is also acceptable, since you can use tokens to buy 'achievements' from a shop, and killing NPC's for tokens is not really an 'achievement'.

I think it would also be cool to be able to reach literally any level. The way it would work is you could never be more than 4 levels higher than the next highest level player in the game. This would prevent you from attaining too high of a level and having no one to fight.

I would also implement daily missions that you can complete for various rewards such as exp, credits, tokens, weapon parts, bot parts, etc. Experience rewards from DAILY missions would be capped at 750, with the cap being lower depending on your level. For example, you could never gain an entire level just from one mission. Weapon and bot parts from missions would work like this: you collect a certain amount of parts to complete the weapon/ bot, and then you pay a greatly reduced price to have it forged for you. Perhaps the parts you would have to gather would be 100. You could also get the requisite parts by winning PVP battles, though the drop chance would be low. If you don't want to complete the weapon design, you can sell the parts for a small price. Bringing back drops would be a great idea. If weapon/ bot part missions were not implemented, I would bring back the old system of drops and have them sell at the rate they were before. Bike drops and house drops (only one house drop per player) would be the rarest of all.

Juggernaut battles would be reworked to be based on the juggernaut level, scaling the difficulty of the fights properly. The reason for this is that low level juggernauts can still get 80%+, while level cap juggernauts have a much harder time, usually getting less than 70%. In Omega, any player can have a build that devastates juggernauts.

In a perfect world, there would be no hackers. In this world, I would have players be able to choose to LOWER their level and work their way back up to level cap. Of course, if my other idea, no level cap at all, were implemented, there would be no reason to be able to lower your level and work your way back up.

Mini games could also be implemented, with small rewards.

Mother1 -> RE: In a Perfect world what would you change in Epicduel? (5/14/2013 12:28:07)

@ hulk

indeed since alpha looked a lot more fun then omega.

@ renegade reaper

What about those of us who brought the Azreal's borg? they copied this one way before they copied the frostbite effect.

Renegade Reaper -> RE: In a Perfect world what would you change in Epicduel? (5/14/2013 13:03:43)

i mentioned frost effect because thats what i bought, i never owned azrael borg.

Mother1 -> RE: In a Perfect world what would you change in Epicduel? (5/14/2013 13:19:03)

@ Renegade

Ah I see. Well I felt the exact same way you did when the recycled the Azreal's borg's special when they made that aux. Especially since Azreal's borg came from my first promo.

drekon -> RE: In a Perfect world what would you change in Epicduel? (5/14/2013 13:28:35)

I would make battles more dynamic and fun with players being able to...

- Run around the screen instead of standing in one place.
- Jump and duck to avoid incoming enemy attacks (non-melee) and use shields to minimize damages of said attacks.
To achieve the above two, characters may need to be shrunken to 50% of current size. Environment would be shrunken and expanded.
- Physically block incoming enemy melee attacks, but receive minimal damage instead of the full amount.
- Have skill duration, cooldown, and warmup based off of time and not turns.
- Throw grenades and have them affect any enemy within a certain radius of the exploding grenades. (not guaranteed hits)
- Have cores that affect the duration of certain effects both positively and negatively. (i.e. increase/decrease stun duration)
- Play effectively with only a primary weapon as equipping more gear slows character speed in combat, but gives more firepower.
- Destroy environments!!! Certain items on the battle map would have it's own HP (invisible) and are destroyed upon reaching zero.
- Gain unimaginable power and speed on RAGE for 6 seconds and being able to use multiple attacks in rapid succession.
- Use a combination of Keyboard and On-Screen (with mouse) commands to perform certain skills

Obviously, I would need more than a day to do all this, but all the hard work is sure to pay off.

Stabilis -> RE: In a Perfect world what would you change in Epicduel? (5/14/2013 13:54:13)

I know for certain if EpicDuel became real-time strategy in place of turn-time strategy I would leave for a few reasons: I play EpicDuel because it IS turn-time, if I had the whim for any real-time game it would likely be downloadable or from my consoles. Flash is resource-heavy, and hardware acceleration is... no comment there. We are looking at a bulky lagging real-time game with constant animation (not even including what was done to those graphics with filters and gradients added).

Maybe if EpicDuel was built on Apache on MySQL I could support that but for a Flash game, I would be wearing body protection as I run away!

ansh0 -> RE: In a Perfect world what would you change in Epicduel? (5/14/2013 14:05:35)

Reaper, you speak as if the dev's removed the core from your stuff and made it available to the masses.

You bought the promo for the core, and you still have the core.

Don't utter nonsense like that.

Theclown -> RE: In a Perfect world what would you change in Epicduel? (5/14/2013 14:18:06)

trade system

Renegade Reaper -> RE: In a Perfect world what would you change in Epicduel? (5/14/2013 14:20:20)

@ansh0 the core was a promo core and should never have been available to the masses. i paid $50 for those weps and the cores that came with them.
it is in no way nonsense. i dont care if varium art is available for non variums, but that core should never have been copied.
